| ASDA have at the moment from the Animal Crossing stand that appeared seems to be doing 2 for £75 on first party games. Myself and this weekend as well can get 15% off / £11.25.
Don't know if anything I want though |

| The eleven games in that offer can be seen here:
https://groceries.asda.com/shelf/home-entertainment/music-film-games-books/games-consoles/nintendo-switch-games/113143
I've got ten of those, so nothing for me! A total bargain for anybody who's still to get Paper Mario, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, Super Mario Party or several other first-party Nintendo games that you wouldn't likely pay full price for though. |

Let's see if this one works. |

| Huh, this might be a good shout. I haven't bought Origami King yet and I was thinking about double dipping with Mario Kart 8 because I was talking to my sister about bringing it round to play sometime, but I only own it on Wii U and that's more of a faff to dig out, bring round and set up... |

| I hear that A Hat in Time is currently £17 on the eShop or £22 with all DLC.
Honestly there’s no excuse for everyone who hasn’t played it not to go out and play it now. I’ll stick to my ‘there’s something for everyone’ tune. |

| The physical version has been hovering around £25 since the start of the year, if anybody would prefer that. It's a good deal either way though, the base game still costs £24 on PSN. |

| I think it's four people here: me, Cappa, Jim, Rum. That's nowhere near enough. I think even you'd like it Mas, it's got fun writing and good set-pieces to go with the gameplay. Something for everyone etc. Anyway I also picked up Unravel 2 at 75% off for our next couch co-op game... then immediately got distracted by the slimly discounted What The Golf. |

| Hat is a weird one, I've hovered over the purchase button a few times, but then I watch the trailer for it and it just looks hot trash. Is there something I'm not getting from the trailer? It looks like it'd run poorly on PS4, let alone the switch and the art style seems to be, well, lacking an art style... |

I guess the flipside of my 'something for everyone' stance is that there aren't many people on here for whom it'd be the ideal game, especially if they didn't grow up loving Marios 64 or Sunshine. I think everyone would find it good, a few people would find it great, and maybe only I and a couple of others (Cappa?) would put it in the top ten on Switch or thereabouts. - Crumpy Andy wrote:

Probably. The art style is nice and colourful but it's probably the most nondescript part of the game, apart possibly from the plot (and the camera). I'm not the best person to judge technical fidelity but the loading was really the only problem I had; Hat Kid feels great to control and the levels, I feel, are jolly well designed; the writing's really entertaining and the characters are plenty of fun; there are some set-pieces that I still think back on fondly today; and... well the music's great but I know who I'm talking to. |

| I just watched that trailer you're talking about, and while I think it accurately demonstrates how the game looks and runs on Switch, you're right about the lack of an art style to call it's own. I think your enjoyment of A Hat In Time would depend on how much you like Super Mario Sunshine to be honest. Like that game, A Hat In Time has really tight and familiar controls, tons of creative flair, a happy and upbeat mood and a more freeform level structure. It has plenty of imperfections, but it's personality is very endearing and it just feels fantastic to play. I've said this before, but while I don't think A Hat In Time is quite on the level of Super Mario's 3D adventures, I'd say it's definitely on par with the likes of Jak & Daxter, Spyro 2 and Ratchet & Clank. Did you enjoy any of those? If so, A Hat In Time is a sound use of your money... ...get it on PC or PS4 though. |
