| Ooh, I'm intrigued by the FF idea. I've only played FFs III-VI, interestingly (for myself anyway). But you can get all of those on GBA/DS, so I remain a little confused as to the PSP's point! |

VII onwards, presumably. |

| I have an FFI save on my Wii U, with unstarted versions of 6 and 7 lying around. I’d like to get into 8, which has one of the best pieces of gaming music I’ve ever heard (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3jho-peCAKs - The Man With The Machine Gun. Curse you, Theatrhythm! ) and 9, which my all-knowing (in-the-realm-of-FF,-anyway) mate Dave reckons is the best one... but I really must finish some of the others first.

| They're not connected, so if there's one (or two) you really want to play, I wouldn't force yourself to slog through others first. |

It’s more of a moral thing, if I’m honest. I’d feel bad having 8 and 9 on the docket without having beaten some of the ones I already have. |

| I think some are slightly different on PSP compared to GBA or DS due to the POWER!
You can only get these seven games in the series on PSP, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII my favourite FF (if talking mainline only it's IX), Dissidia: Final Fantasy, Dissidia 012: Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy I, Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection and Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions.
That's just one series on PSP, I've been saying for years (article on Gintendo) how good its library is and it has RPGs coming out of the wazoo.
Now if we were talking VITA and gJones then most of those seven PSP games are on VITA via PSN along with PS1 Classics of VI, VII etc also on PSN and the likes of Final Fantasy X HD for the console. |

| PSP can't connect to the store anymore via the console but can some how download on to the console.
Never said you couldn't get them on GBA, just in theory PSP should be better versions of those games.
Unless you are referring to were I said can only get, which I mean those are the seven Final Fantasies on PSP and not a huge library of the series like Balla and Drunka were thinking. |

| Yeah you can transfer from PS3 to PSP and I'd assume you can still use MediaGo for it (which is better as the PSP download speed was always horrific). If you're going to be pedantic in every other thread at least make sure what you're saying makes sense Mas. |

| Sorry Andy but to me, it did make sense and still does.
I would be up for going back to an older Final Fantasy and Zero did bring up about doing let's all play retro game thing again when Switch online goes live and we get a free NES game, I don't see why we couldn't do that before then with something like Final Fantasy. |

| This blinder of an album. Found a piece from it while browsing the interwebz and had to check it out. Seriously just listen to this and tell me that isn't the most spellbinding Gerudo thing around. Dark lord Ganondorf is everything I've ever wanted in a Ganondorf battle theme. The whole album is brilliant, from the bombastic "Calamity" to the chilling piano Ganondorf theme "A King is Born" and everything in-between and surrounding them. Its been a while since I've indulged in a game soundtrack/album, glad I came out of hibernation for this treat. I might even have a rave about this in the music thread, it's that good. |

| Got a few bits Got Machamp at a boot sale on Sunday, he was new but packing was badly damaged but for £4 for what is normally a £11 figure was a good price. The two games in the second picture I got on Monday from GAME in the Easter Sale, the two of them cost me £5.98. The odd thing is Torment which was 99p on Xbox One were the PS4 version which I would have bought over the Xbox One version due to the lack of X support was £14.99 in the SALE. ArmaGallant I've seen on PSN a few times on sale and to me looks like a MOBA based card game from the trailer on PSN but the devs on the website are calling it a card based RTS, I like the look of it and don't really know why I've never taken the plunge with a download. Today I got most of my bits, I got Chaos Legion given to me by the guy in the game shop where I bought Fire Emblem on Cube and Zelda on CDi, I don't know if it's any good or not. Picked up MGSHD as like I said elsewhere recently Peace Walker is now backwards compatible and I will finally get around to playing one of the few Metal Gear games I've not beaten but going to hang on for awhile as I may get to play it with some buds. I think because I got Machamp I was drawn to the Pokemon toys in the toy the shop and the Eevee set was half price that I had to have it as Eevee is my fav Pocket Monster. Labyrinth was the £10 4K films in HMV and where I also picked up some more Studio Ghibli films. |

You are genuinely mad. You could have played Monster Hunter 3 on 3DS and had a much less distressing step back in time! Hit me up about replaying the final fantasies. I picked up a copy of I&II for the GBA while I was in Super Potato. I'd seen the Square Enix cafe and the Final Fantasy 30th anniversary exhibit at an art museum and felt sad that I had no connection to the series. I understand I can play the first six games on the GBA and DS, and I'm thinking of starting the series, seeing as I'm in Japan and wanting to experience the culture. Would be fun as a total noob to play alongside someone who actually does know the series. It's for the good of the podcast, mate. Yeah, of course! I'm planning to write up my thoughts on the series as I go for Gintendo, but it'll be slow going due to the nature of the genre and each game being a whopper. I'm waiting on FF1 turning up to get properly rolling but I've been tiding myself over by checking out the iOS apps so far. Funnily enough, the FF news app on iOS had a couple of features on the cafe and the anniversary exhibit - I'd love to have seen it in the flesh. Sakaguchi was apparently hanging out at the cafe quite frequently during the time of the 30th anniversary. - Balladeer wrote:

I did some research into what versions would be best for playing the earlier FF games and the consensus seems to be that the PSP is the one to go for besides FF3, which I own on DS anyways. Plus, like folks have pointed out, I can connect to the PS Store through my PS3 and get up to IX through the PSN library. - ZeroJones wrote:

That linked track is a banger, good choice! I smell accompanying music posts in my near future after I finish each game in the series... |

| I wonder how easy FFIII is to get on PSP now as like Andy pointed you can get the PS1 Classics by downloading via a PS3 (might be on Origins or something) but the actual PSP version of FFIII was download only in the west and that's not something on the PS3 store.
Like I said a few posts ago, I think you can download by connecting to a PC but not 100% sure, if the DS version is better doesn't really matter but is a bit sad especially with WiiWare recently that some games might be stuck in a limbo for ever.

| I think the DS version was ported across to PSP - I'll do some digging when it approaches the time for FFIII. |

| The PSP verison is port of the mobile version which is a port of the DS version, so technically it is but we've seen recently with Chrono Trigger on STEAM on how well Square handle ports. |

| The DS remake was ported across to pretty much everything - it played nicely on PC, so I can't see it being any different on PSP. Regardless, I've got it on DS anyways so I'll just bust out the ol' 3DS for that one. |

| Lacking a PS3 for sometime didn't know that and not something I've seen brought up amongst PSP collectors but then again they're collectors so talk physical games and different editions of consoles etc and you can't really collect digital games |

| I gutted my old bedroom at my folks' house, and I took about a hundred old DVDs and PSone/PS2/360 games down to the charity shop earlier. Parity resumed when I picked this up this stoater on the way out: |

| Not pictured but I bought The Alliance Alive from the 3DS eShop following on from the corking demo. I went to GAME for the eShop points and traded in DKuwait (will only work if you pronounce 'Kuwait' in a particular way), Detective Pikachu and The World Ends With You. Also needed £9 from my amassed points but it meant I spent no money at all! Those are the best transactions. |
