Not even a contest for me here. I always ask for the mayo to be taken out of my burger, so much do I dislike its taste. Ketchup, meanwhile, is the only thing giving most chips flavour. I won't be taking part in this one, not good enough yet, but I'd rather eat the ink from an other-team Inkling's gun* than mayonnaise.

Muss has it right (not the first time I've typed or thought that): not really a 'one or the other' choice this time. I'm not a fan of either but brown sauce was never going to be on the roster. Winky Face

Ketchup is ordinarily a bit too sweet for this forumite.

I think I'll be on Team Mayo this time round. I prefer mayonnaise with my chips plus it goes so well with chicken. There's different flavours of mayo to consider too, such as the mighty garlic mayo. Yep, no contest here for me!

Yeah, I'm also on team Mayo. I also love me some ketchup, but will have mayonnaise as a condiment with pretty much anything.

Personally I'd be Team Mayo and Ketchup but if I have to keep them separate I'll go for Mayo, I just like it so much more with more food, Chips and Mayo is king.

I've enjoyed both Mayo and Ketchup in their rightful place, but I'd definitely say I'm leaning Ketchup. I've never known ketchup to ruin any food, it just adds a lick of flavour to something otherwise dull, like chips. Mayo can be detrimental if it's added to soemthing with cheese, a flavour combo that makes me want to vomit. Also, people are really liberal with chucking mayo into sandwiches and stuff without even asking. Ketchup doesn't do that. Mayo has ideas above its station . . .

I've never had a bad bit of mayo, but I sure as hell have tasted bad ketchup. The worst ketchup is loaded with sugar and just makes your chips cloyingly sweet. Mayo wouldn't do that to you.

On an unrelated note, I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner tonight of southern fried chicken goujons and some chilli mayo. Grin

Carbonara is flipping wonderful. But it'd be horrid cold: my objection to mayo must be, I assume, that it's served cold. It is in that respect entirely unlike revenge.

Thinking about it, I can't remember the last time I added ketchup to anything... not even a vague clue. I've definitely put mayo on some sandwiches within the last three months, but ketchup? No idea.

Last time I put ketchup on something was about 3 hours ago. Chips in the canteen. They'd have been dead boring otherwise.

The enlivening of chips is a role I give to the very talented salt and vinegar. Or, occasionally, mayonnaise (and I mean that - although I am favouring mayo in this Splatfest, for me it's like choosing the best one out of Neighbours and Home And Away: they're both bad, but one is slightly less bad than the other).

I had ketchup on Saturday as I didn't have 20p on me and didn't want to pay on my card for BBQ sauce in Burger King.
