If Jay had owned a Wii U and I was single with lots of free time in 2012 or whatever it was, I reckon MH3U would have definitely made the top 10.

Well deserved actual winner. I think the fact that it went on to be better, and make more sense, on the Switch makes it the perfect example of a Wii U game.

I say: I'll actually let one of the voters take the comment for this one because it sums up my feelings reasonably well.: "With apologies to Jay, I genuinely wish the 3DS version of this hadn't been a thing.  So much was spoiled - including, for at least a couple of people, the entire game.  (I am using two meanings of 'spoiled' here because I am clever.)"

Mario Kart 8(18 Points)

I say: Unsurprisingly Mario smashes it out of the park. Well done mate, gg.

Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric - Why has Sonic been transported into this completely different, utterly bollocks horse’s arse of a game? This fully lives up to its very, very dishonourable hype.

Mighty No. 9 - Between it's second-rate production values, abysmal programming, boring level design, massive lack of personality, early PS2-era visuals, indistinguishable sounds, Master System-esque ideas and it's unforgivable cheapness, I genuinely think that Mighty No 9 is one of the very worst games to have been released at retail on Wii U. “It’s better than nothing”?. Fuck that - nothing would have been better.

Game Party Champions – An absolute relic from the Wii U’s launch day. This couldn’t be less inspired and this couldn’t be more half-arsed. It wouldn’t shock me if this was actually some sort of unfinished 2006 beta Wii game from FannyWank Games or some shovelware bollocks like that.

Sports Connection – An atrocity. The entertainment level is similar to that of being booted in the tadger.

Game & Wario – A tragic misrepresentation of the great WarioWare series. It’s pointless and pedestrian in equal measure, and an early tell-tale sign that nobody – not even Nintendo – really knew what they were doing with the GamePad.

Rodea The Sky Soldier – An alright-ish Wii game, brutally murdered. All the changes were - astonishingly! - for the much, much worse. It’s definitely the biggest ‘HOW THE FUCK MAN?!’ on Wii U. The developers had to really go out of their way to make this so dreadful.

NBA 2K13 – Don’t give us any of your pish. Simulation basketball games are for cunts.

Animal Crossing amiibo Festival – Irredeemably dull. Bored Game.

Chasing Aurora – Looks brilliant, but it’s boring as fuck. This got an obscene amount of hype, and it was all totally undeserved – just like it was undeserving of my money.

Lost Reavers – A waste of time, effort, energy and resources. Nothing.

Toki Tori 2 – This is probably all right to be fair, though I’m giving it a dishonourable mention because everybody was getting such a boner about it before it came out. Bloody hell lads, it’s just Toki Tori, you know? Simmer the fuck down. I lost interest in playing this about nine minutes after downloading it, because it’s just bastarding Toki Tori.

BIT.TRIP Presents: Runner 2 Future Legend of Rhythm Alien – Sorry, but I don’t get this. I’ve played literally hundreds of platformers, and I just don’t see what other folk seem to see in this. This left no impression on me at all.

Rabbids Land – Far too weird to be fun or endearing. It’s amiibo Festival, but worse.

Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games - This arguably could have been the best Mario & Sonic Olympics game to date, but it’s a confused mess, and full of cheap and nasty recycling of previous assets right the way through. It’s genuinely made worse by the rubbish GamePad implementation too. So soulless.

Starfox Zero – It lets you down in every imaginable way. It’s a complete failure.

10. Alphadia Genesis - Possibly the worst game I played on the Wii U, but I didn't go in expecting anything else of it really.  Not from the moment I met the first stilted character and his awful speech.  While bad, it was practically free from disappointment, and I quite enjoyed trashing it on Gintendo, so it ranks low down my list of hatred.

9. Shovel Knight - Yeah this is a little trolly, but I really came to dislike this game's death system.  Losing stuff halfway through the level, repeatedly on the harder bits, wasn't fun.  It's definitely not a bad game, but that death system irked me no end, so it slots in fine here.

8. Super Mario 3D World - While this was a good game, perhaps even a great one, it was also the culmination of everything I felt Nintendo had got wrong with 3D Mario over the generations.  Linearising it further and further, until we got a console where its only 3D Mario was a 2D one.  I dislike the idea behind it rather than the game itself, but there's plenty of room it here in my list.

7. Unepic - Axis (remember him?) kinda recommended this.  I think that's the reason he left the forum.  IN SHAME.

6. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze - I love this game.  But at the same time, I'll never forgive Retro for working on this.  This could have been a Metroid Prime, damn it!  And while the soundtrack would have probably been worse, that sinking feeling alone is enough to 'win' this a dishonourable..

5. The Wonderful 101 - A heady double of disappointment and actually being not that great a game.  Fiddly controls, with overlong missions and downright bad characters.  This was meant to be the saviour of the Wii U, especially of its third/second-party support.  Instead, it's lucky to only be at number 5.

4. Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival - 'You got your hopes up and look what happened.' - The Cappuccino Kid, 2015

3. Star Fox 0 - This was going to be two things: the game that would make the best use of the Gamepad in years, and the glorious return of a long-awaited franchise.  The attempt to produce the former ruined the latter.

2. Trine 2 - For a while, this was my only game on the Wii U.  I quickly decided that I'd rather play with the OS.  Beautiful graphics hid 'puzzle gameplay' that amount to box-stacking, and dialogue that had me reaching for the drill to put through my ears.

1. Paper Mario Colour Splash - My least favourite game on the Wii U, and I've never even played it.  By most accounts actually quite good, it is in my mind a hideous misjudgement of what made the series once-great.  With apologies to Zero, I'm sad that this was released so close to the end of the Wii U's life, because that means a risk of Nintendo judging the no doubt terrible sales by the console, not by the fact that this is not a Paper Mario game that should have ever been made.  Ever."
