Yeh, I'd missed it the first time because I'd been concentrating on the Matthew jokes. But while I've been eating breakfast this morning I've been going back over old tunes and giving them a listen.

I don't really like acapella, which of course makes me scum incarnate.

If I'm staying drunkalilly, I think Balla needs to be the Balls Man and Jay needs to be Scum Incarnate.

Pfft, I'm happy to keep that up and I have no intention of changing my username. I mean, Cappa has been Flllroooppss to me for years (and I can't even remember where the joke of misspelling Phillips came from).

Changing my name to Smooth McGroove would probably be better, what with the ironic tinge to it and whatnot.

I wasn't being serious. I'm still happy with drunkalilly at the moment. When my alcoholism goes from funny to tragic, I might change my mind.

We haven't had a Tenderloin episode in a fair while, so we're still squarely in the funny zone.

Balla - Sorry to burst your bubble, Balls Man.   By the by, did you manage to check out the Non-Ninty music week I put up today? Reckon it'd be right up your alley.

Getting back on topic, I found another acoustic version of Kraid's theme. Bit different from the one in the music week post, but just as gorgeous sounding I reckon.

I did, but didn't comment. Guess I should think of something to say...

So Balls you not doing this ever again, I thought Drunka was a one week only special guest type thing.

That said, I've got a couple of recently finished games that Drunka may or may not play in the future, so if he ever finds himself stuck for a week I'd be happy to fill in. Until then, it's Drunkalilly all the way. And a fine job he's doing of it too.

It got a bit tragic yesterday... not looking forward to going back to work! Might be time to go tee total.
I liked your kraid cover though. If my life was a romantic comedy, that'd be the song that plays while I look sadly out of a window at the start of the third act. It's funny how such an alien sci-fi soundtrack translates so well to folksy acoustic covers.

I was desperately looking for an electric guitar version, but the covers I found weren't great. I wish that Kraid had made it to one of the Prime games as his theme would have been rocking once given the Prime treatment.

That's right, Nintendo music week is going Nintendo music game! Now I could cheat and use This song about my life or a poor cover of one of the best songs of all time. But no, instead I'm going to celebrate some of the bizarre, dance-ified versions of Nintendo tunes.


Super Mario Bros.

If the mario music was ever going to be played at children's discos, it would be this version. I love it! Makes me wanna shake my hips, or at the very least slap some toy plastic drums.

The Legend of Zelda

Doesn't quite lend itself as well to Donkey Konga-fication as Mario did, but a wonderfully weird twist on the classic tune.

ahh brilliant! it really does make me want to dig out the bongos and play it right now.

Good man! I really want to give it a go as well, but alas it is at my mates as I don't have a GC or Wii set up just now.

   

I'm afraid that I do not like them.  Not at all.  I haven't felt this upset about a cover version since SM3DW ruined Gusty Garden.  Sorry.

I thought the same thing as Balladeer...until I played the game.

What a remix! Perfectly suited for some bongo bashing, though like everyone else I'm not as big on the Zelda one. Miss Donkey Konga, remember playing it with friends. That and the Japanese version of Konga 2, which got about 30 minutes' of play time before it was packed away. Erm.
