Moon looks nice too. I wonder how accessible it is? Could be a unique rpg to play through with my partner.
We had been going through Dragon Quest... I want to say, 11? (Whichever one came out on the Switch not all that long ago), but we stopped that about 2 thirds into the game.

XI, and that's a good call. I found it very dull and am ready to trade it in.
Volta-X looked like it might be good fun in co-op, but I can't tell from the trailer whether it's actually co-op or not? MOON just looks... weird. I might be up for fighting my retro demons and trying a bit of that.

I don't see Volta-X being for you balla since it's a real time strategy RPG and no co-op either but it does have PvE and PvP.

I love the design of all the things in Volta-X! It's just not the game for me. Actually, similar thoughts about Moon. I'm not sure I like things any more!

Liking things was very 2019.

I'd say the SP deserves more quotation marks than the U.

Luckily I have discovered that I do indeed like things. Just not those things.

I booted up my Wii U to try out an old Wii game or two earlier on, and had a look at its eShop. Why is it so much better than the Switch equivalent? Do we reckon Nintendo are ever going to make the Switch eShop not shit?

It's the lack of Switch eShop music that's truly criminal. Even if they didn't create any original works and just had old Mario/Zelda/Metroid tunes playing in the background, that would be a massive improvement!
The Wii U eShop is class: bright, colourful, inviting, easy to navigate and some excellent tunes.

Navigating old eshops is a sad past time of mine. I regularly go on the Xbox 360 marketplace to see if there are any random discounts, but I inevitably end up browsing through every game and thinking to myself - I wonder if anybody else is on here? Are these "best-sellers" what people are buying in 2020 or has it not been updated? Why am I single?
You're right about the Switch eshop though - it's soulless. No music is a crazy omission, considering the PS4 you can pick and download themes with music. It's a strange oversight, given how Ninty let you go wild with the 3DS badges.

So, is it just a better browsing experience people want? As I honestly don't mind the Switch eShop (wii U's definitely was better though) but 95 percent of the time I know what I'm after when I load it up and with the other 5 I still find the odd game I didn't know about through a sale/discover or the coming soon page which are then promptly put on my watch list so I don't forget about them.

Yeah, it's the browsing experience that lets it down I think. Games can be featured on the homepage briefly, and you can put them on your watch list, but if you miss that window then it might be very unlikely it's ever brought to your attention again.
The Wii U eShop let you browse by system and genre, and had more easily navigable subsections and charts. I feel like the Switch eShop halfheartedly tries to do that but it feels a lot more like interminable lists of nondescript games a lot of the time.

That's a really good point! I downloaded a whole bunch of themes on my 3DS and set it to random, so every time I opened it up I got a different one.
Plus, the Wii Shop Channel music got memed for days. Why would they go from that iconic music to literally nothing?! Outrageous.

After posting that I jumped on the eShop and does anyone remember this?
It is finally releasing on the 13th of August.
EDIT:
Also noticed this very odd looking game called Shaolin Vs Wu-tang (no not the rap group)
I honestly don't know how they will get away with this considering it is using a whole host of likenesses from various Kung fu films, such as Bruce Lee, Jim Kelly, Jackie Chan, Jet Li & even the big bad from Bloodsport Bolo Yeung. It looks pretty bad but I kind of want to get for a few reasons 1. I'm big into kung fu films and 2. it would be fun to have if it does indeed get yoinked for copyright.

Like you I'm not much of a browser, so for me I'd just like it to feel less sterile - it and the Switch OS. The Wii U had some beautiful tunes (listening to that and the Gamepad version and how they fit together ), and the Switch has... nothing. Oh wait, it has themes: a black one and a white one.

It seems to be on purpose with the steam page saying this:
"Shaolin vs Wutang is a INDIE love letter to Martial Arts and classic Kung Fu films. Made for casual game fans not intended for Hardcore Fighting Game players"
A pitch like that makes me want it more because it basically seems like the video game version of those really bad Kung fu films of the 70s and 80s. You watched them for the over the top action and cheesy dialogue, I think more games should try their hand at being entertainingly bad.

Regarding MOON from the previous page - the concept seems very Undertale which I dig, but I'd be concerned about the actual game part of the experience holding up there. UT, for all I overhyped it, was rather competent from a gameplay perspective and that's coming from someone who isn't a huge fan of bullet hell style shmups which its combat clearly draws from.

I’m a big fan of old kung fu movies, the dumber the better. I’ll need to see more of that game tough; it talks a big talk, but that gameplay looked about the same as every fighting game on the market. If it does capture the classic Wu Tang spirit, and It drops at a cheap price, I might fuck with it.
More generally, the difference between “so bad its good” films and the gaming equivalent is that you have to engage with a game; its badness can be frustrating in a way films can’t.

Long shot this, but anyone tried Snooker 19 (it's on sale at the moment)? I watched pretty much all of the World Championship, but the game looks a bit ropey. Didn't know if we had any snooker fans on here?
