Actually I fear that might outstay its welcome after a bit - it might be a bit too frustrating to play that many times - but if it ends up cheap, then maybe we can become all-star alpaca champions or something.

Finally a football game on the Switch to rival Rocket League.

This was one of the first games I bought and completed on the Wii U. While it's not an all-time classic or anything, it's certainly inventive, atmospheric and memorable. I think it's £2.39 well spent if you've never played it before.

Literally the only bad thing I've ever heard anyone say about Little Inferno was that it had a steep asking price. At that kind of money, I'm almost tempted to give it a second go . . . probably won't though.

I'm basically hanging about and waiting for Hotshot Racing at this point:
Sumo Digital are involved here, and it's taking inspiration from the right games, so it's a sure bet that this'll be the dog's bollocks. It's out on Thursday with 20% off on Switch. It's on Game Pass too if you've got the means to play it there.

I'll post fuller thoughts on Hotshot Racing when I complete it in the coming days, but I've got to say, it's fallen short of my expectations.
On a happier note, I downloaded a demo for a game called Vitamin Connection earlier on. I urge you to give it a look, I thought it was class. It's seemed sort of like if Kuru Kuru Kururin was a Metroidvania with a J-Pop soundtrack.
I know there's a lot of games out at the minute, but it's maybe something to add to your wishlist someday

If you are still after another racing game then Interial Drift seems to have had some decent to good reviews. The concept of using twin sticks for drifting sounds interesting as well.

Cheers for saying - I only found out about Inertial Drift last week, and it looks very interesting and novel. I'll be after another racer at some point, this'll probably be the one

I mean, when you put it like that... it's not the sort of game I would have expected you to recommend and it's exactly the sort of game I'd expect to like. Co-op you say? Very intriguing, might well wishlist it. The trailer music did make me want to take a fork to my eardrums though.

I loved that trailer music! It's silly. And I see what they did with the vitamin spaceship. It's a good job the Joy-Con wasn't shaped like a suppository...
But yeah, I'll add that to my now-giant wishlist.

Lads, I'm sitting here thinking about Hades, as I do quite often these days. Why aren't you sitting here thinking about Hades? (Unless you are Jas, in which case I'm sure you are, you've just not posted about how you are yet).
Start thinking about Hades kids, it's the flippin' best.

That's why I'm not thinking about it. I respect that it's received brilliant write-ups and it's nice to read that you're enjoying it, but the idea of it couldn't appeal to me less.

I think Hades definitely has a wider appeal than most other games in the genre but I've always looked at rogue-likes in a similar way to your classic arcade games except you replace your hi-scores with seeing how far you can get level (chambers of hell in this case) wise.
The big difference being you are either getting stronger by becoming more skilled at the games systems and/or getting permanent upgrades that help you.

Yeah that's the worst way to describle the game, just imagine a game with perfect (and incredibly varied) combat and that's what you have here. Every run feels fresh as you use a different weapon and pick up different boons from the gods.
I wouldn't worry too much about Bastion or Transistor when comparing either to be honest, stylistically maybe, but the combat is streets ahead here.

I'm never not up for more waterfowl in gaming, but this does look like a very traditional run-and-gun shooter. Why can't we be blasting up ducks and geese and elderly villagepeople?
Which reminds me, the multiplayer mode for UGG is out now I think. It's a nice free gift but I think it'd lose the magic on a second playthrough, even with a second player.

I think Mighty Goose looks brilliant, I'll be keeping an eye on how that develops

Nintendo shadow dropped a new Kirby spin-off onto the eShop this morning:
Kirby Fighters Deluxe on 3DS wasn't amazing - I just don't think the Kirby games have interesting enough fighting mechanics to stretch over a full game without the platforming. Still, I thought it would be decent short-term entertainment for under a tenner so I went to download it.
It's £18!

I still have a bunch of unplayed Smash content, but even if I didn't I can't imagine wanting to pay any amount of money for Kirby Fighters 2 unless it were a game where the cast of Street Fighter each take a turn beating up a Kirby.

My thinking is that I'll get two friends who are both playing for the first time and merely spectate their playthrough.
