| I can't link to it just now, but Nintendo Life ended up giving Quake a rare 10/10.
I’d seen in that review that this remaster includes the whole of Quake 64, and that’s one of the few PAL N64 games that I’ve never played or owned. I’ll definitely buy it for that, but I’d hope to get some online games too. |

| Spotted the Castlevania Advanced Collection is going for £16 on the eShop and Aria of Sorrow is worth that on its own. Get it played, folks.
Any massive Actraiser fans on here want to chime in about how the remake looks to them? I'm certainly intrigued on the back of seeing it in the Direct. |

| I've put that Castlevania advanced collection on the wishlist for now, as I just recently done a 100 percent play through of Axiom Verge 2 & Metroid is only 2 weeks away it's just a bit much to add them to my current pile of games at the minute. They definitely will get bought and played though. |

| I've done the same. It's a gaping hole in my gaming lexicon that needs filling ( ), but now's not the time. |

| I've put on my Xbox wishlist because I've got access I think about 13 or 17 Castlevania games on Xbox, then adding these to those makes it a great place to have them all. |

Hm. Well I guess it falls to me. I'll give it a go Really can't wait for this (I mean, I can't wait until I can justify purchasing this, I'm aware of its release schedule) - the side-on bits are just as good as any of the Castlevanias and what-not, and the Sim City-lite bits are adorable - it's weird having story elements pop out of your new houses. |

| I've added Castlevania Advance Collection to my wishlist too. Konami reduce the price of those other Castlevania/Gradius/Contra anniversary compilations fairly often so I'm happy enough to wait a few months and get it for a discount. It looks really good value at full-price though - and I completely missed that there's all versions of all the games, which is pretty smart.
Now that Actraiser Renaissance has been out for a few days you're starting to see YouTubers with experience of the original - like Game Sack and Modern Vintage Gamer - come forward with their opinions on the remake. The general consensus seems to be that while it's hardworking and bighearted, it's technically dodgy and adds in lots of unwanted bumpf. |

| I almost snap bought Actraiser as I loved the original (played it on the Wii VC!) and a couple of years ago I bought SolSeraph on Switch as that was basically the closest to a new Actraiser I ever seemed likely to get. £25 for the remake is quite a steep ask though! Especially as I'm not a huge fan of the new art direction |

| Not sure if anyone else has tried the Voice of Cards Demo yet but i am super impressed so far. The narration and story telling seems top tier already which is really what you would expect from Yoko Taro's team!
Curious if many will be willing to pay £25 for a card based game but i would recommend the Demo at absolute minimum. |

| I'm quite interested in it. Ever since getting far more into Steamworld Quest than anybody else I know, I've been gunning for another non-procedural card battler. This could be procedural as well, of course... - OrangeRakoon wrote:

Wasn't SolSeraph absolute dross? |

I was totally turned off by how dry the game looked to play and I wasn't even sure if Yoko Taro's trademark madness would hook me. I'll check the demo out. |

| Double post, but chiming in to say that I've since played the demo and it was indeed rather dry. There's not even a hint of Yoko Taro's magic present in the writing, characters or setting which whilst the truly madcap stuff in the Nier games didn't come till later, you could still recognise there was something interesting about the world and characters in those games.
It won't be one for me, I reckon. Anyone else checked out that demo? I know personally I'm waiting on The Cappuccino Kid's take, but if there's anyone else that's tried I'd love to know if you saw something in it that I didn't. |

| I dunno - I feel like everything's cards now. But not real life cards, pretend cards in a videogame.
Looking forward to 2024 when we play Piecepack Prophecy 2.
Sorry, I'm a cynical old man, if it works as a way of "making" a dungeon, go for it |

| Videogame cards are great. You can't attack somebody with a card in real life and see them burst into flame. You shouldn't, anyway.
I imagine I'm probably going to agree with Jay on this, but I'll wait until the game's out before trying the demo. so if it's the new Best Thing Ever I can dive straight into the full experience. In the meanwhile, killing time between Eastward and Metroid Dread, I picked up The Room (Not That One) for 90% off. Castle's always banging on about it (got rejected from the Space Ark if I remember correctly), so I thought I'd give it a shot. It's not bad: a bunch of puzzle boxes with decent atmosphere. There is a certain degree of 'tap everything and see what moves' to it though, and there's no way there's room inside those puzzle boxes for all the mechanisms that pop out. I imagine I'll finish it pretty soon and post my full thoughts. |

| I didn’t see this reported anywhere, but all the games from Capcom Arcade Stadium are now for sale individually.
https://www.nintendo.co.uk/Games/Nintendo-Switch-download-software/Capcom-Arcade-Stadium-1923847.html#dlcItems
I appreciate that nobody on here but me is arsed with stuff like Carrier Air Wing, but surely the likes of Super Street Fighter II Turbo and Final Fight are well worth a place in anybody’s collection for £1.69 pop.

| A truly manky number of games from my wishlist came onto the Cyber Deals eShop sale that started yesterday. I don’t even know where to start, I’ve already got about thirty Switch games that I’ve not played yet. With 40% off, it’s probably time to bite the bullet and get What The Golf?, and 20% off Cyber Shadow is really tempting too.
On another note, the new Big Brain Academy had a demo quietly released at some point. It’s nice enough – and I’ll likely wind up buying the full game in the new year - but my Play Log says that it took me seven minutes from starting the demo, playing everything available and then turning it off. I think four of those minutes were spent creating my little avatar character as well. |

| Aye there's a few I want to get as well but I've already bought about 5 or 6 e shop games in last 3 weeks to a month. I'll need to whittle it down to stuff I know I'm going to play fairly soon, top of the list so far are:
Quake What the golf? (this shot up after really enjoying the demo & the recent chat about it on here) Castlevania Advance Collection |
