Spoiler:
Pokémon Legends: Arceus - 86% I'm still not sure what to expect from this, my main worry is that it'll be a bit samey but I'm gonna keep the faith and back it.
Windjammers 2 - 83% This will do everything it needs to do perfectly but will probably lose a few points from reviewers who can't get to grips with it.
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Extraction - 75% The foundations for this are solid but the direction seems all over the place, will be fun for what is but probably lacking in anything truly memorable.

My scores:
Pokemon Legends: Arceus - 79% I think it'll be a bit shonky but will be a welcome attempt at a new direction.
Windjammers 2 - 80% I'm going to say this quietly: I don't really know what Windjammers is
Tom Clancy - 81% I have no idea, so I'm going up by another increment of 1%.

It's fine it's a sequel to a 28 year old cult classic arcade game.

Scores on the doors:
Spoiler:
Pokemon Legends - Tough nut to crack this one, considering it's Game Freak trying something new. It could be a world beater or it could be a bit of a flop. Let's play it safe with an 80.
WindJammers 2 - Not a clue how this one will do. Let's go for an 83.[/b
Rainbow Six Extraction - This doesn't look amazing from the previews I've seen. Let's say [b]72. ]

Whoops, it has been a while... Here are the scores on the doors for November!
Jurrasic World roared home with a score of 80, which is about where most of us pegged it. Jay was the only one to get it dead to rights with a perfect guess.
Forza 5 zoomed across the line with a score of 92. Everyone had this in the high 80's to low 90s, but it's Jimbob alone who got it just right. GJones and Jay had guesses on Battlefield 2042 instead, which came home with a disappointing 65. They both picked high 70s so that one hurt!
Shin Megami Tensai V hit the mark with an 85, of which Crump, Balla, and Cappa all picked perfectly.
Finally, Pokemon D/P divided critics with a score of 75. Many of us had it in this region but only Rum was found perfection!
Balla had an incredible month, the closest to a perfect round we've seen yet and out in front by some margin. Otherwise, most of us were clumped really closely together scores wise. Jay and gjones got the short end of the stick with Battlefield, whilst Jas and Mas swung for some of the more extreme guesses on D&P/SMTV which ended up costing them.
Smurf remains the man to beat overall as he takes sole control of the top spot. Mas drops a couple of spots to third, behind Cappa. Rum and I remain consistent, but it's Balla who made the biggest surge up the board moving up 3 places. I think pretty much everyone brought their averages down, with the exceptions of Mas, gjones, and Jas. Jay, amazingly, got the exact same score from the previous month.
Monthly Winners July - Treesmurf (4) August - The Cappucinno Kid (15) September - Masofdas (6) October - Crumpy Andy (10) Buskalilly (perfection) November - Balladeer (3)
Perfect Predictions
=1. Masofdas (3) =1. Crumpy Andy (3) =3. Cappa, Smurf, Muss (2) =6. Jay, Jimbob, Rum, Balla (1)

And a double post, here are January's scores!
Windjammers 2 came home with a 78, a little lower than what most of us predicted. Mas came closest at just 1 away.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus captivated critics and came home with an impressive 85. Smurf came closest at just 1 away, but many of us were convinced it wouldn't chart this well.
Rainbow Six Seige: Extraction underwhelmed with an average of 72. One man saw this coming, as Jay got the perfect score.
Quite a lot of variation this month. A lot of us were unsure about Legends, but that turned out to be gold. Windjammers did a worse than most of us thought, and Seige really put the cat amongst the pigeons with some of us thinking it would hit the 80s, and others the 60s.
Smurf is still the man to beat and pulled out another top score overall this month. Mas and Cappa swap places, as they are often want to do it seems. I've crept ahead of Rum for sole control of 4th, but there's a three way tie for 5th which is pretty crazy. Despite there only being 3 games this month, only half of us improved on our averages so it was a tricky round.
Monthly Winners

And another post. This time I'm back with February's games. There's a whole lot of quality this month, and a lot of it is luckily saved for the end. Below are the games I've shorlisted this month. A mix of GOTY contenders, a potentially solid game, and possible shite. I've left it quite late in the month to put the games up, so I'd ask that you don't look these up on opencritic, or search for much more than their trailers, in case there are any early reviews. By all means look at the scores of the older games in the series if you want to though.
Horizon Forbidden West - The big PS5 exclusive scheduled for the 18th. I'm sure this one will do well, but how well will it do?
Elden Ring - The big Fromsoft game that's kept George R.R. Martin busy and, alongside Horizon, a GOTY contender surely. I'm really looking forward to this one! Releases Feb 25.
Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires - DW9 was considered a turd by many (or at least it was by the then Jim Sterling), and that's being polite, although the open world nature of it had a few fans. DW9 scored a smelly 62 on opencritic FYI. How will this spin off fair? Releases Feb 15th
And finally Total War: Warhammer 3 - the big PC strategy game, how will it do? Comes out Feb 17th. Pretty sure these normally score handsomely.

Cheers for that score round-up Muss, whopper effort! Glad to see I got a couple on the money - considering I've been a late starter with this game, I think I'm doing alright here!
Right, let's do this:
Scores on the doors:
Horizon Forbidden West - 90. I think this is going to outperform its predecessor, but not by a huge margin. It should review really favourably though.
Elden Ring - 92. I think it's hard for games on Opencritic to break too highly into the 90s, but this should make in-roads. It's looking like a GOTY candidate, absolutely.
Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires - 69. I'm hedging my bets slightly here as there's every chance it could review in the low 60s like its predecessor, but maybe there's been improvements to push it higher? Who knows!
Total War: Warhammer 3: 87. These always do very well and I see nothing that suggests to the contrary for this one!

My February Predictions:
Horizon Forbidden West - 92
"Hey, Mr. Peterson, what's up?
The warranty on my liver".
Elden Ring - 90
"What'll you have, Normie?
A 1929 Lafitte Rothschild, Coach. Or a beer, whatever everyone's having".
Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires - 63
"How's it going, Norm?
Not so good. I missed a digit in the debit column today. The boss is now using my butt for an ashtray".
Total War 3 - 85
"What do you say, Norm?
Well, I never met a beer I didn't drink. And down it goes, huh?"

Shoot, didn't know the Horizon reviews drop that early. Well, I'm pretty sure we'll all have it near the 90 point mark anyway If you have had it spoilt, please pick another game from Mas' list people of the future, but in all honesty I don't expect much deviation in our scores on that one anyway.
As for me:
Scorey McScoreface:
Horizon: 90 - It'll do very well I'm sure. Am I hyped for it myself? Not really, but it does look proper tasty.
Elden Ring: 91 - I am hyped for this, but it's going to be hard to get much more than the low 90s I'm sure.
Total Warhammer 3: 86 - These games always do well. Some ballpark mid-80s guess will get close enough I reckon.
Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires 70 - This is a real wildcard. In theory the tactical focus of this game might make u for the bland shite that was DW9. On the other hand, it's a KOEI spin off game so every expense will have been spared here. I'll give it a 70, but I'm not thrilled about that.

Poopy Bums:
Horizon Forbidden West - 89. Like alright innit, but probably not that different from last time, and people might see the veneer coming off.
Elden Ring - 94. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!
Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires - 60. STORP MAKING THESE
Total War: Warhammer 3 - 80. The two places that review it give it a 7/10 and a 900/1000

I didn't think of myself as competitive, but when Muss overtook me to secure that 4th place spot I was hogging, I felt a little pang of fury.
Is now an appropriate time to admit that I don't know what Elden Ring is and I'm afraid to ask?

I'll jump back in after missing January through injury laziness.
Geordie Score:
Horizon Forbidden West - 88 "I'm radge and I'm gonna wrap the dinosaurs around my little finger."
Elden Ring - 90 "I’m that good looking I’d even neck on with myself."
Dynasty Warriors 9 - 71 "Got the looks, got the charm, got the repetitive gameplay; it just works."
Total War: Warhammer 3 - 82 "I've got a bangin' body, and the banter to match. Just don't tell the lasses I play Warhammer."

I WON A THING! (looks at the next month's points) Aw f**k's sake.
Funny variant on 'scores':
Horizon Forbidden West - I'll keep with my trend of guessing 'slightly better than the last game' and go with 91.
Elden Ring - 94, dominates GotY discourse to a sickening degree.
Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires - 60, even lower than its core game because they won't have fixed what made that bad.
Total War: Warhammer 3 - The last one got 87! So, er, 86. Bucking my own trend.

Horizon Forbidden West - 88 This has clearly going to steal the score that Windjammers should have
Elden Ring - 92 I can't see anything but an absolute all timer.
Dynasty Warriors 9 - 69 Nice!
Total War: Warhammer 3 - 88 Hammer those wars totally baby!

Spoiler:
Horizon Forbidden West - 92% The first game has a few flaws although given most people don't seen to acknowledge them I'm expecting this to do even better than the 89% that did. It looks like they've really stepped up the already satisfying gameplay and PS5 will still be very high, hoping nobody reviews the PS4 version as it'll clearly melt the console.
Elden Ring - 95% This is gonna be the best thing ever right? I'm not in the fold but I can see why these type of games do really well and if they can make the open world compelling enough I could see many calls for "best game ever made".
Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires - 70% Can't believe these are still going to be honest, average tends to be the trend and with no better franchise like Zelda to back it up it'll remain average.
Total War: Warhammer 3 - 85% I know nothing of these games but they tend to review well so I'll try and stick to around what they'd usually get #Insight.

I own Total Warhammer 1 or 2. I thought it was ok. I always get to this point in a campaign where the game basically expects you to conquer too much stuff to hold my interest. But they're solid and enjoyable games at worst.
