Maybe it deserves its own thread here? It is really good. |

| My despair at the eShop offerings looks set to continue next week. According to the WiiU news profile on Miiverse, next Thursday will see the release of something called My Farm which i have no clue about so may be pleasantly surprised but it sounds like a game made for my daughter. The virtual console release is.......NES Open Tournament Golf. Groans |

| Having mentioned Shovel Knight, I'd like to bring up another retro-styled indie title I've got my eye on, Hyper Light Drifter. It's a very interesting looking action RPG, beautiful despite/because of its pixellated art-style, which reminds me of Fez but with more neon. The Kickstarter links in the CVG article have more on it. It looks like it'll be a 2015 release at the earliest, but Luigi's Mansion 2 turned out pretty okay, so I can wait. |

| In more exciting news, Scram Kitty is on track for an April release, and there's a new trailer for it. Looks a bit more platformy in this latest one, although there are still some bullet hell moments. |

| There's a good point to be raised here: the Wii U eShop is constantly on the verge of exploding with brilliant indie games but they sure are dragging their heels. I want to play Shovel Kitty Dewgrad Director's Cut now!

| Shin'En have announced another version of their Art Of Balance game. No new levels, but a new look, better physics, and online play. I probably won't buy this as I already have it twice: 3DS and Wii, and I can always play it in Wii mode if I get the urge.

| So, there's a company called AE games. A new indie developer for Wii U, who are going to reveal their new game on Friday. Now, this could be an elaborate troll, but their press release... well, talk about shots fired! Even their name makes it seem like they're the anti-EA. - Quote :
AE Games is a brand new game developer, based in North Carolina. Our desire is to create great games designed around Nintendo systems, starting with the Wii U. Instead of treating the system as an afterthought like many developers/publishers have, it is going to be our focus.
What has been the picture of third party support on the Wii U? It seems that late DLC, no DLC, missing modes, and selling last year's game as this year's, has been the way to go. Then follow that up with trying to justify poor sales by blaming consumers (or, even Nintendo)?
There are examples of publisher support that shouldn't be forgotten, wonderfully terrible examples in our opinion, like a publisher releasing one game on the Wii U for $60, but selling a trilogy of that game series on the other consoles for the same price. Or, releasing the exact same game on all consoles at the same time, but pricing the Wii U version nearly 70% more than the other versions. Or, now even more recently, delaying only the Wii U version of a game that was already previously announced.
Not only was/is this actively sabotaging Wii U sales of those games by the publishers in our opinion, but it was apparently assuming most Wii U owners in 2012 and 2013 would be ignorant of those facts (we guess?), or not care about them?
We are tired of hearing excuses from so many third party developers and publishers in regards to supporting the Wii U. We think it's a shame so many third party developers and publishers have provided excuses for not supporting the system, instead of providing examples. There's really only one way to dice some third party support of Nintendo systems: can't never could, and never will.
But, if you own a Wii U, you likely know that there have been some developers that have really taken their time in developing Wii U games (and versions of Wii U games), to show the system's strengths. We hope to become a part of the developers that have shown how to make games better, with the Wii U.
While the foundation of the company has started in North Carolina, we will be using talent from around the world to bring great games to the Wii U (and hopefully, other Nintendo systems). We will be revealing our very first game in development for the Wii U, this Friday! Will you be hit by one of Cupid's arrows when you see it, and fall in love with the idea behind it? We hope so!

| Brilliant, hilarious, outstanding. I am trying very hard to reserve judgement for when they actually show off a game, but it's proving difficult. Instead, I'm left hoping that their game is as good as their press release. Maybe it'll be genuinely witty? Then again, there's a possibility from that "Cupid's arrows" mention that it might be a dating sim. Maybe they saw the pornography statistics for the various consoles and are trying to capture the hentai fan market. |

| Easy (and cheap) way to get attention onto their game, I suppose. It's all stuff that's been said on forums all around the world thousands of times before, but 'all press is good press' for a new, up-and-coming, previously-unheard-of developer, I would assume.
Mind you, typing this, I can't remember the name of the company, but instead just that they ripped the pish out of EA. |

| Well, it might be one guy claiming to be a "developer" having nought GMS Standard Edition, but at least someone's saying it. It'd be cool if Iwata legitimised this in the next 'Direct. |
