I'm personally not a huge fan of just pointing a camera at a screen - it was fine for YouTube circa 2007, but it doesn't come across in the best light today, in my opinion. Just my two cents though! I'll check out whatever you upload if you chuck a link somewhere on the forum.

Well I need a camera for EGX anyway. So using it for everything, just makes.

I'm with you there but I'll also add that it's probably fine for a short video (2 - 3 minutes long) but anything above that isn't fun to watch.

Stupid me, I caught the restore option on the touch screen which has sent me back to chapter 4 on FE where I was on 8 and about 4hrs in not 2.
So I've started the Sacred Stones instead.

Having finally done away with Elliot Quest (more on that story later), my next game is DKC3. I want to beat it before the end of the month...

Definitely! The weird thing is that it plays as if its older than DKC3... They're both fun, in their own ways, but I did enjoy Elliot Quest more than I am enjoying DKC3.

I started up Metroid II: return of Samus late last night and before I knew it was 4 am, I have about 15 metroids left to seek out but I've no idea where to go next.

15 left? Blimey, Jas, I've only found about three! The last time I booted it up I found a way forward and trekked through miles of the world... only to find myself back at the Gunship.

I done that last bit myself as well I did top up my health and missiles in the ship though and made my way back to the last metriod I killed and left it there, I know when you get an earthquake tremor after killing so many that opens up a path that was previously blocked by lava it's just bloody finding it.

Shenmue I, playing because of the wonder of III coming.
I've not played much of first compared to the second, that I can't remember some stuff but how does a game that came out in 1999 looks this good still especially for a 3D Realistic game.
There issues which you noticed now like character pop in / lack of draw distance along with a drop in the frame-rate when running along ohh and the controls are like Jas brought up in the Shenmue III thread (I was going to put this there and make it a general Shenmue thread instead of III) do take a while to get used to again as you want to use the analogue stick to move but nope it's a small d-pad.
But once you have it's still a excellent game and now I'm looking for Sailors.

I just finished Ecco the Dolphin. I've just about got over the trauma.
Don't get me wrong, I started off loving the game. Ecco himself is loveable, and isn't bogged down by the "Awesomeness" of 90s video game mascots. When you start off in the first level playing with your dolphin family, and all of a sudden said family is taken away from you, it's genuinely upsetting. And for the first few levels, it's quite satisfying zipping between the underwater passageways, dodging jellyfish, and catching up with the occasional dolphin or orca that managed to evade whatever happened - as if there's a complete social underwater civilised system. But it gets unbearably hard, and never in a fair, structured, World 1 - World 8 way. Passages get narrower and spikier, and enemies (some of which actually have some kind of animation) become more heat-seeking missile-like. Ecco's turning circle is far too wide, and the manner in which you turn is also hard to control (i.e. a difference between turning left/right on the vertical axis, or somersaulting). Therefore you're constantly clipping into the side of things without any clear way to avoid - stopping dead near spikes essentially snookers you. Even after hours of play, it was still not clear whether Ecco or the bad guy would win the "joust" of nose-bashing. And there are a couple of out-of-the-water jumps that are nigh-impossible. I assumed I was breaking the game when I was attempting these. Nope - apparently that's the way you're supposed to go. I had the advantage of playing this on the PS3 with save states: how any kid in the 90s persevered with having to start a level from scratch every time they coasted into an area, only to have a crab Powerpoint-slide from off screen and wipe out their health in 0.4 seconds, I don't know.

It is too hard - unfairly so.
Also I tried to dig up any easter eggs etc. I missed - it seems like that sort of game (on one of the levels with a nigh-impossible jump, I found a secret statue that opens a warp gate to the end of the level; I thought this was the "proper" route originally). So, drugs and dolphin sex, apparently.

Ugh, it's an absolute chore of a game. Ecco The Dolphin is right down there with Altered Beast and Super Thunder Blade in the 'Mega Drive Games That Are Fondly Remembered By Stupid Americans But Are Actually All Sorts Of Arse' genre of games.

Hayfever's got me by the bollocks, so instead of going out to the pub and have a merry auld time with my mates, I stayed in last night and played some N64. Off the top of my head, I got about five hours from Blast Corps, Super Smash Bros., WCW/NWO Revenge, Wetrix, Mischief Makers, Mario Tennis, Road Rash 64, Hydro Thunder, Mace: The Dark Age, Mickey's Speedway USA and - OF COURSE - the legendary...

Speaking of DC, I was browsing the Xbox 360's Arcade area last night and downloaded the demo to Jet Set Radio. So many memories! It was just the tutorial and the first level, but I forget how simple it is to pick up. I've also been playing Crazy Taxi with my 3 year old; setting the time limit to 10 minutes and watching her tear up the city is hilarious. Again, such a simple concept and one that she picked up quickly. Saying that, the 360 version is definitely inferior to the Dreamcast original - the buttons aren't as responsive (for doing the drifts and boosts) and the lack of Offspring is a huge detriment to the "craziness".
Has anybody played Crazy Taxi 3 on Xbox? Adored the first two but never played that one.

I played 3 for a bit , I remember it having night sections as well. It was okay but it's the sort of game that the original was so good how do you improve on it.

I get the impression it was more of the same - I played the demo of CT3 and it even felt like a "more of the same" sequel; sort of soul-less, like you were supposed to have swapped the game out with the original. I'm not explaining myself here.
After Ecco the mothereffing dolphin, the next proper attempt at Sega reconciliation is Sonic the mothereffking hedgehog; currently got a save state (for time reasons, not cheaty ones!) on the last world. Actually (and prior to my initial thoughts) it's a better game than Ecco, in that the latter stages are actually remotely playable. Once you get it into your head that you're not actually supposed to whizz along like the first world suggests, and take it slowly like a 90s platformer, it's a lot better. However I'm still annoyed at the bait'n'switch of the Green Hill zone's free-slowing spectacle leading into the subsequent worlds' tiptoeing.
