| I started my First 15 Series, I've not been very consistent with it but now should have 7 videos on there which is either utter crap like 102 Dalmatians, I'm utter crap at like Aerowings, Tekken 3 which I used to be good at but for some reason I picked Jin for the video and just done Resident Evil 2 which I died on about 14 minutes in as I was rushing, as I reckoned I could get to the police station at least in 15 minutes, that I caught at the start a few times instead of taking my time avoiding the zombies.
I feel I've played a few others part from Primal on PS4 via PS2 Classics but can't think what right now. |

| As I picked up a OG Xbox, I streamed live me playing some games on it which can be found here.
Halo still hold up really well, but as the series hasn't evolved much over the years it's not surprising. The odd thing is, I've played and finished anniversary on 360 and could play it on XBONE via Halo: MCC but it feels better playing how it was meant to be played on a OG.
Brute Force doesn't not hold up very well even from the training level, it looks awful.
I then tried Splinter Cell which I did think after going from Brute Force, it wouldn't look great but it isn't to bad at all then the last game on the Xbox I played was PGR2 which okay is nowhere near Forza 6 inn terms of looks but it still hold up really well and it's still amazing fun.
Basically the games that were really good, so far seem still to be good and the one which I like but wasn't that well received hasn't aged well.
I also tried 1080 on cube, which was more then SSX then I thought it would be but great fun from the first level I played.

| I played Splinter Cell on the PS2 a couple of years ago and it looked horrendous, but the Splinter Cell games were best played on the Xbox. Used to play Chaos Theory on my 360, so would be interested to see if that still holds up in 2016.
1080 Avalanche was a fun game, but it really needed a bigger campaign mode with unlockables. It felt like a Dreamcast game in that respect - played great and was fun while it lasted, but wasn't worth £40 at the time. |

| Yeah Splinter Cell was made for the Xbox and all it's extra POWER!, so the PS2 port looks bad or Brute Force looks so bad that the bad looking Splinter Cell looks good.
1080 does have that arcade feel that a lot of DC library has but some like Cappa like simply fun games. |

| Earlier today I decided that it was time to take down Majora's Mask. I left things near the final boss of the Great Bay dungeon - the third one, the Zora one. After spending hours rerouting the pipes I finally made it to Gyorg - sort of fitting in this, the Week of Classical Music at GNamerbury. No-one warned me, however, that Gyorg is quite the [expletives deleted]. I got to him at about 6pm, I think? I said to myself that I'd beat him and then have tea. I beat him at 9pm. I've taken a hell of a janky beating. |

| Gyorg's an arse. They completely changed it to try and make it more reasonable for the 3D remake, and it's just confusing... |

| So I've just got back into collecting and playing stuff for my GameCube! Playing through Pokemon coliseum for the first time and I'm actually pleasently surprised!
Has anyone else played something retro recently that everyone seems to be down on and it actually turned into an enjoyable experience? |

| No, but I just wanted to say that Pokémon XD is better. Soooooo much better. Shook up the Pokémon formula in the best ways possible. The only criticism most had was that it was too similar to Coliseum, so there's a good argument for putting that game down right now and picking up XD instead. Just saying! |

| XD I've missed but that's only due to the fact of its price, which I reckon why EofGiz isn't playing it. |

| I actually do want to pick up XD but like mas says it's far more expensive than coliseum! But as I'm enjoying coliseum and a few people have now told me that XD is better I may well pick it up too! Also you get eevee as your starter right? |

| I never clicked with XD, story wasn't pushing me in the same way Coliseum did. I would love to go back to it one day but I'm pretty rubbish at playing single player last gen games, let alone 2 gens ago... |

| You should give it a go! I've found the GameCube still holds up for the most part even on a modern tv!
It helps that it is by far my favourite controller which is my issue when going back to Wii or n64!
Rgb scart cables are a must though, composite doesn't look good on a hd TV! |

| I’m playing Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (using the Dolphin emulator on PC because I’m a cheapskate). Just beaten Hooktail and I forgot how utterly charming and oddly relaxing this game is to play. I had it when it originally came out on Gamecube, but only did the first two chapters and lost interest. Aiming to complete it this time.
I’ve also lined up Skies of Arcadia Legends to play afterwards – mas, is this a better version of the Dreamcast game? I only played the demo at the time and it had way too much random battles for my liking. Was this toned down at all?

| @gJones I own both versions of Skies but played basically nothing of either but from Wikipedia says yeah seems random battles improved along with other things. |

A lot we've recommend is multi-format or series you know like FF, also does it really matter what your top games are on as long as there good (like how Zero has Batman as Number 1 on Wii U and not a Nintendo game) and I'm actually really curious how you get on with some games on PS3 as things like NNK is a PS3 console exclusive but isn't a Sony game like Uncharted that something like a NNK will feel more like something you've played before being a JPRG from Level-5, where Uncharted and other Sony games wouldn't, same would apply to Xbox with Halo etc. If that all makes senses about games have a certain feel and I don't think you will have many Sony feeling games to make your top games maybe the indies. |

| Triple Post as I've played some retro games
First up on the Wii, I've tried out of the 5 games I picked up to see if they work as the disc look like they've been used for ice-skating were Samba De Amigo which is a game I still need for my Dreamcast collection.
Anyway gave that a bash and I found the motion controls not to be very responsive at all. Next I played some Mario Strikers which is okay but I would sooner play on the GameCube with a proper controller, which is what I say about most Wii games.
Also started Crash Bandicoot 3 on VITA via PSOne Classics, I started it & done the first world and I was thinking this is excellent still and all they have to do with the remasters is make it look better (The game doesn't look bad playing on a handheld) but part way through world 3 of 5. I'm finding the game uses the same level designs, so each world will have a castle themed level, a level underwater, a racing level etc. Not to say there bad but the repetition is far more noticeable now then when I was 8 also the game seems to be short as I got to halfway through the game whilst watching Podcast Beyond which is about 1hr 1/2 long and knowing what is to come I reckon the game can be done in under 3hrs without really trying. Though according to HLTB it's about a 7hr game, so it might get harder and the levels longer then what's in world 1-3 as a kid I played the game for weeks and got the 105% in the game. Those were the days when you had a game and that was the only game for ages, that you got 105% from them, now it's a new game coming every week and barely got time to finish them all.
Next I started up the best metroidvania Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, I didn't get far and I not seen a save point but from what I did play dam the game is so good still in every-way based of around 30mins play.
Last one Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker the PSP OG version via a VITA again, reason I say the PSP OG version is the HD versions likely fixed the controls due to more buttons on a controller then a PSP a bit like how I played Snake Eater and thought it wasn't that great but then I'm told Substance fixes some issues with that. Anyway as you can remap buttons, I've sort of got the controls to work well'ish on the VITA with the D-pad and face buttons switched then the D-pad mapped to the right stick of the VITA. On the actual game, I know how good it's meant to be but dam it is great, I do think it's lost a little something as MGSV (which Peace Walker should be) takes the ideas and expands on them so much. I'm likely the characters (I'm on about mission 10), how the cutscenes (ohh Kojima) are told via comic book strips done in the style of the covers of the games. I'm really glad I'm playing it but also wish I played when it came out as I may have held it in higher regard also I could have played the online (Does the HD version have this?).
Yeah basically my weekend has been watching Podcasts and playing retro games on the VITA whilst doing so, with some classics and I've been really enjoying them more so then some recent modern stuff and knowing I've got FFIX now on actual PS1 and highly regarded RPG's also downloaded on my VITA and GameCube Vs. coming up and maybe some retro let's plays with you guys, I can see me leaving something like Deus Ex: Mankind Divide on the shelf for awhile.
I do really want Konami (I will buy used because #FucKonami) to port over the MGS legacy collection but with added MGSV to the PS4 all in shiny 1080p etc, if they can some how put in Twin Snakes as well along side PS1 MGS would be great. |

| Samba De Amigo on the Wii is horrible to play. Highly inaccurate control mechanics, given you need to use the Nunchaku the same as a Wii Remote.
I also found Mario Strikers a fiddly mess too. That's probably my main criticism of Wii games is that the unnecessary point at the screen, return to non-pointing, QUICK point at the screen whole business is irritating. Seeing as Samba and Strikers are ports/upgrades, these were shoe-horned in. |

| Oh man i wish they would do another Mario Soccer game! Charged on the Wii was actually relatively fun to play online with friends but now that has gone i would prefer the GameCube version!
On a side note Mas im also giving Peace Walker another go, as ive said many times ive tried to get into Metal Gear a few times because i like the look of it but like Souls the patience to learn mechanics (I Suck at Stealh) is whats always stopped me loving the series. |

| If there was to be another Mario Strikers - which I reckon is unlikely - the single-player difficulty curve would have to be adjusted from, basically, two massive hikes as you go through the cups. Playing humans was a blast, though, and the loss of the servers makes me sad. ~~~ As for myself, still Donkey Kong 64. As Cappa mentioned in the What Are You Playing On The Wii/U? thread, there's much too much going on. My 36-year-old's brain can barely get hold of it. |

| Glad it's not just me that thinks that about the Wii and why I want a lot of the library like SMG remade/remasters with proper controls as the system has some great games held back by its controller.
I'm not very good at stealth myself, from what I've played of MGS: PW it could be a decent entry point as you don't ned to know as much lore compared to MGS4 for instance.
You don't think we will get a Strikers on NX, Zero? As has to has some of these missing series also the lack of servers makes the Wii & DS feel even more retro then the Dreamcast where some servers are still up / back up. |
