I haven't read many reviews, but Matthew Castle and Chris Schilling both said on Twitter that the multiplayer frame rate was slower, but consistent. Local multiplayer will always be more fun than online. It's just harder to organise. |

Read the whole thread, Rum! Yes, I already saw that - "nowhere near as juddery" implies "still a bit juddery" - and Matthew's tweet stated that the frame rate was consistent, not juddery. |

| Yup, that is a problem. I have the benefit of living in the capital. Couldn't you organise a GNamer Scottish Mario Kart-In or something? - Rum Rapture wrote:

Fair enough. So did Mr. Scullion. I have a tendency to underexaggerate. |

| Talking about local multiplayer street pass somerset are having a Mario Kart 8 event along with streetpass of course on the 31st, so maybe they could do the same in Scotland. Unfortunately I'm in work so can't go 😭. |

| As long as we can organise on-line races that I can consistently attend, that will do nicely. Local multiplayer is next to impossible for me. |

| Reading the reviews, nobody seems to have a good word for the battle mode. I'm hoping Nintendo plan to patch this and add battle arenas later to sustain the life of the game.
Personally, I'd just want Battle Course 4 from the Snes.
Also, looking at Mario Golf's dlc with extra courses and characters. I'd love Mario Kart to do the same. I'm reminded how Burnout Paradise was updated and given new dlc, that really prolonged it's appeal and relevance. |

Fixed. Broadly, though, I agree. I'm happy with DLC so long as it's not day one: then it's taking the mickey. |

But I must have, it says it right there!? I know what you mean about day one dlc. But as someone who trades games in very quickly, it's the only time I get to play additional content. |

| I know day 1 DLC sounds iffy but they've obviously finished the game by the time it launches and sometimes (particularly if it's not large DLC) they might just have managed to get it made before it comes out. I think that's an important line between day 1 dlc and on disk. |

| Trouble is, it's true. Japanese videogames (and most anime, manga...) are racist and sexist. And I find it hard to be angry, or even annoyed, about it because I've become inured to the whole thing. But you can't deny the truth of it, blatant bandwagon-hopping though it may be. |

| The thing is though you'd still be talking about a fantasy world where mushrooms make you bigger, leaf's that give you the ability to fly etc so in my book real world problems/issues just shouldn't apply. |

| Can't agree with that. Fantasy worlds are depictions of the creators' mindsets in the end. If they're almost entirely white for as long as the Mario Kart series has been, that says something about those mindsets. You can't divorce fantasy and reality when one is a product of the other.
Do agree that the Toad thing is stupid, though. Although I do now want to see a black Toad... |

| I don't think it necessarily means that those mindsets are racist though, I do see where you're coming from though. - balladeer wrote:
