Yesterday I saw The Wolverine. Right big, he was.
It was certainly better than the terrible last Wolverine solo film effort but then that would not be hard. It's very Japanese and the elements don't always hang together but I liked it. If you are an X-Fan and are after seeing it, there's a midway-through-the-credits scene that you must stick around to see.

So I saw Kick-Ass 2 last night. Not quite as big as the first one (but then neither is the comic book, falling back on gruesome scenes to have its effect) but good fun nonetheless.

Really? I liked the book, and in all honesty I thought that the movie was kinda shit.
Now you see me is a good movie

I enjoyed it, though I think I would've enjoyed it more if I hadn't watched the first one a few hours before. I wasn't too keen on the whole Mindy loves Dave thing though, that was kinda creep

I'd gladly take a stargate movie to finish off stargate Universe which was sadly canned before it should've been.

Over the weekend my girlfriend and I saw Rush, the F1 film with Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Bruhl. It was pretty good, I'll have you know; not great, as F1 bores me to tears (which I could not get away from, despite the zippy way the action was filmed), but good.

It's looking good that, also last night I watched the girl with the dragon tattoo for the second time. That is a really good film, would recommend it to everyone.

Trailer was cracking - Cumberbatch's voice was everything I'd expected it to be.
And Swedish or Hollywood version?

I've seen Hollywood twice, all three of the Swedish once. It's hard to pick which is the better film as rooney and noomi both play the part of lisbeth so well.

Agreed - I think I prefer the Swedish version more though because I like Blomkvist more in it and it's a bit grittier too. Have you read the books Mas?

No I've not read the books, see i think i prefer the Hollywood one as I thought it was more darker with the

rape scenes
and at the end. I think this has to be hard choice of what's better the original or Hollywood version, as I've not seen films like oldboy but i hear it's a classic and I'm expecting hollywood to mess it someway to annoy fans.

I may have just watched this not-terribly-well-done fansub. of the Phoenix Wright film. It's really dark compared to the games, but still fun. I'm just annoyed that Karma didn't get a proper breakdown.

Right, here's something which might be a bit of fun. I'm not gonna try and make a vote because it would never work, but this is something which I felt like putting into words for myself and decide to share.
Buskalilly's Top Ten Favourite Movies:
10: The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers My brain tells me that LOTR is full of flat characters and deux ex machinas and is therefore not a great film but it just draws me in. If love to watch these films with the dialogue and sound effects of, just soaking in the visuals and the music. Amazing stuff. Anyway, I chose two towers for Helm's Deep. Fellowship took too long getting started and Return had a bit too much going on.
9: King Kong (2005) I laughed at the big monkey when he was silly, I cheered him on when he punched dinosaurs and I cried when he died.
8: Robocop A superhero film for grown ups, with a perfect balance of action, quotable lines, heroic storylines and pitch-perfect dark satire. The new one will not live up to it.
7: Godzilla (1954) Later Godzilla films are more fun to watch, and I prefer Godzilla as an anti hero to a straight villain, but this was a haunting masterpiece from a time and a nation struck with the most terrible weapons ever conceived.
6: The Adjustment Bureau A classic romance told through the medium of weird, high-concept sci fi. Brilliant!
5: Titanic I like this film because I can really feel the love of these two characters (even though there was room for two on that door!)
4: Spider-Man 2 Strangely, I didn't like this on the way out of the cinema but it's grown on me since. My favourite superhero in his best cinematic tale, with a tragically believable villain.
3: The Dark Knight A film which needs no introduction. Took a concept as ridiculous as Batman and made an incredible, archetypal story. Proved that superhero films don't need a tongue in the cheek and can be taken seriously.
2: Transformers: Dark of the Moon Really, I'd put the other two at positions three and four with the 1986 animated movie at five, but that would be half my list on transforming robots so I'll just stick this one in here. I love transformers- I love the story of an endless war, I love the way the characters try to stay heroic despite the horrors they've seen, I love the way it allows mechanical beings to be the main characters. I also love it when he turns his hands into swords and destroys baddies and turns into a truck and says stuff like "FREEDOM IS THE RIGHT OF ALL SENTIENT BEINGS."
1 Terminator 2: Judgement Day Pretty much the perfect film and my all time favourite ever since I was about five years old. The action, the story, the characters, the effects, the music, the humour, the way out plays with your expectations from the first movie- what more could anyone want from an Arnie flick?
