Chris Scullion's Public Domain Film Night

Only just realised this is tonight, but I might get in on it. Anyone else keen?

I think SEGA may of lost it as there doing a live-action Sonic movie, we had a Sonic game where he kisses a Human Princess and look how that turned out.

I am Sonic.

I watched The Judge starring Robert Downey Jr & Robert Duvall last night, really good film but also incredible sad at times.

Does anyone else think it's a little weird they're jumping to a Sonic film and not starting with the more well know Rad Mobile first?

Psst... Dunka... it's Rad Mobile, not Rad Racer. Rad Racer isn't well know at all.
The recent Sonic cartoon's actually done quite well; I guess it's the right time to do it. It can't be worse than the Mario film, that's for sure.

Sonic has actually done quite well in adaptations. I used to enjoy a spot of Sonic the Comic.

Seen that Deadpool last night. Enjoyed it! Very post-guardians with the gags and the music. Not quite as funny as I'd hoped, and Deadpool's motivation was really dumb and a little two clear. I've always said, Pool works best as a side character in someone else's story. But if you want silly jokes, gratuitous violence, swearing, nods to the fans and a superhero film that doesn't blur into all the rest, this is worth your time. It was pacey as well, felt like it was over in a flash.

As for the trailers...

Just back from Ol' Dead Eyes myself and thought it interesting. I remember laughing, lots, but none of the jokes, which is odd. Recommended but as someone on Twitter noted, it is amazing that it got a 15 certificate.

Vido normally bring this up but was your Top films of 2015, only really I ask now is in the Comic Book thread talking Civil War and how it maybe the best film of 2016. I think it very much could be the best super hero film but not sure if the very best.

Anything you guys reckon I should see first, some maybe are on Netflix? or aren't out yet like The Hateful Eight which I will buy soon as it's out of Blu Ray.

The ones that I've seen that stand out for me are: Chappie, Straight Outta Compton & The Revenant.

Chappie and Ex Machina were great films about robots, Genisys was not. Looking forward to catching Creed and the Hunger Games on DVD.

Inside Out is a beautiful film. I will fly the flag for that one all day long.

The Martian ain't half bad.

also didn't totally hate Pixels like everyone else to which I maintain was because I was on a night shift
