| Australia gets enough shoddy treatment. It's only fair that it should get something first for once.
I might not be so philosophical about the matter if I gave two monkeys about the 3DSi, as I'm calling it. |

| I don't think it's as bad as it used to be down under, I watched there direct and all the games coming same time or earlier then us Europeans. But there prices could be consider shoddy, Looking at Wii U games a used NBA2K13 is $25. |

| We've been getting games around the same time as you guys for a while now, think since X and Y came out. But yeah it came a bit of a surprise that we are getting the "3DSi" first. (Though don't care as still going to import one) |

| Has anyone gone in for one of the 3DS's new themes? I caved and bought the NES Jumping Mario set, which gives me a bit of classic SMB tuneage in the background and turns all the folders into ? blocks, along with a few choice sound effects here and there. |

| None. I've managed to stay firm on this: I barely look at the applicable screen, so there's no cause for me to buy them. |

| I had a look and whilst initially impressed with the Zelda one, Dusty told me that you only see the advertised screen if you scroll right a fair bit, so I didn't get it. I didn't like the look of any of the others at all. |

| Yeah he tweeted me saying you've got the rubbish one as it's not what it's like it just a wall, with me sending back I don't care it's zelda. You do get the one that's in the advertised screen on like the next screen then back to the wall on the next. So if you've got a lot of stuff on your 3DS then you will see both of them. |

| It's now going for £60+ on eBay etc, I remember seeing it for £5 in HMV when they were getting rid of there used games ans never even thought it would turn out to be something so desirable now. |

| I think I paid around the same price not a long time after release and judging from how it played I wouldn't have expected it to be desirable. |

| This could work pretty well if the screen surrounds buttons and sticks -- much easier to use touch without having to drop the controls you're using.
I can see this more being used for QOL at the moment: perhaps for indicators and such. |

That's exactly what I was thinking! What with the New 3DS launching/launched, there'll be no call for a new new Nintendo handheld for a couple of years. |

| Really I feel the New 3DS is only a stop cap, as the 3DS will be coming up to 4 years old in March. I can see it get to 5 years old in 2016 and being replaced holiday that year which might sound a long way off but really isn't. |

| And that's why I didn't like the idea in the first place. Not only is it a "stop cap", but it's a "stop cap" being released when, really, we should be looking at another handheld generation soon.
Wonder if Sony will release a PSP3, after the "success" of the Vita. |

| Hmm not sure about a 3rd portable system from Sony as you think we will have PS4 to at least 2018 and the VITA isn't going to around for all that time. But due to it being a flop really and Sony not in a good financial place, I think all there smartphones going forward will use remote play like the X3 (is it called that) does now and that how they will continue the whole remote play for PS4 after the VITA officially dies.
Yeah it's a stop gap but everyone says it's great and not really different to DSi which launched in 2009 then 721 days later we got the 3DS.
Let's say we get the New 3DS March in the EU then 4DS in Nov 2016 that's 611 days between that's not much different to the DSi to 3DS. |
