I wonder how the australian electorate is going to take the latest budget, they're either going to be happy the government has ceased its insane austerity measure attempts or they're going to be angry that the government that spent the last four or so years claiming there is a budget crisis on similar levels to the Greek debt crisis has now sat back in its reclining chair and left the stove to do the work.  I can't help but wonder if they're softening the public up for a early election or something, budgets aren't usually quiet this weak and toothless outside election year.

Looks like Ireland is going to vote in favour of allowing gay marriage. Well done them!

Excellent work. I love how it became a referendum: the will of the people. Great stuff.

Makes me wonder when Australia will finally arrive in the 21st century and get this done. Not in the next five years at any rate, as there's less chance of someone as backwards and staunchly christian as Abbott getting this done as there is a pig flying to the moon propelled by their own farts.

For all that Cameron's awful, at least he's not Bush or Abbott. Therein lies some consolation.

It's official, Tony Abbott has lost his mind, today likening himself to Jesus Christ himself.

Some sad news, I've just seen that Christopher Lee has passed away.

Phenomenal man. From Hammer Horror to James Bond to Lord of the Rings to being a metal vocalist at age 90 - a legendary entertainer. I'm glad he got to reprise his role as Saruman one last time with The Hobbit trilogy. He'll be missed.

America has passed a gay marriage bill for all 50 states, the funny thing is Hillary in 2000 said marriage is between a man & women now she's pro LGBT. You can tell it's coming up to a election.

It's weird, I have been in the States for 2 days and it doesn't feel much gayer here than it did yesterday. It's just quite unfortunate that Stormont has yet to pull their fingers out and do something about it.

The Supreme Court ruled in favour by 5-4, I understand. How there can be four learned and intelligent people against people being in love getting the same rights as other people in love makes me sad/astounded.
