I dunno - it seems that writing/editing for something called "The Mail on Sunday" rather lands you in that. Sunday papers are generally operated as independent of their other-six-days counterpart- the Express, by example, is as bad as the Mail for buying the Government's "Skivers Vs Strivers" rhetoric, but the Sunday Express has had a fair bit to say in opposition to the welfare reforms, or at least to its more extreme aspects. I think in that regard, The Editor On Sunday is more upset that he hasn't been able to make his mark than he is that he's being tarred with the same brush as the Daily. |

| Hilarious though that is, it annoys methat we're getting less United as a nation instead of more. I was hoping to see a United States of Europe in my lifetime. |

Would she have been one of them, though? Can't say she's my type. Then again, I'm no longer a hormone-addled teenager. Maybe that's why my initial action is the same as Athrun's: |

| I assume nob is an abbreviation of hobnob? I've got a lot of time for hobnobs, although my favourite biscuit is the equally euphemistic ginger nut. |

| Is this a UKIP I see before me? Dissatisfaction with the current government, coupled with the news basically being "Farage Farage Farage, Farage Farage? Farage, Farage, Farage!" for a few weeks, now means we have a number of jerks as our MEP's... or is it more complicated than that? |

I've been getting quite into chocolate directives actually. They're just spot on with a cup of tea. As for the UKIP thing, that's pretty much it. Nobody with an understanding of the situation or a cursory glance of the rest of their policies would vote for the cunts. |

A lot of people put it down to a general disinterest in European elections, so the only people voting are the hardcore never-miss-a-poll types, or single-issue Angry People. This may be borne out by the fact that the BBC are reporting that turnout for this was 34.19%- while the lowest ever turnout for a General Election is 57.2%, suggesting that higher engagement leads to more rational less irrational results. At the risk of saying things that could be interpreted as supporting the party, though- it's possible that people want a different thing from politicians in Europe than they do ones in the UK, so that a belief that UKIP can do the business in Europe may not translate to a belief they can do it in the UK. Further to that, a lot of UKIP's message has been positive- "we will do this, we will do that" (even though 'this' and 'that' are terrible) whereas the big three have been mostly "Don't vote for the other two, they'll ruin everything" which isn't much to get behind. |

| It's not just the UK, in France there UKIP type party got when I last looked 25% of there seats, and a few other countries. One has a MEP from a party that's basically neo-nazis. So drunka's dream of a more unified Europe/World looks even less likely.
I didn't vote myself but would of gone tories. |
