| Point taken. Okay, we're long overdue a good ninja-like character. I'm keen to see how they re-balance her (I noticed how they avoided gender pronouns in the direct when referring to Sheik), but she wasn't all that in Mêlée or Brawl. |

| Eh, I liked Sheik in Melee - probably my main, now that I think about it. |

` Hey, the scarf is surprisingly awesome despite being a stupid idea. People need to stop dissing greninja! |

| I love Greninja! Have you not been reading the thread? But that scarf just makes me cringe a bit every time I think about what it really is. |

| I think it just looks like another example of lazy late-era Pokémon design, truth be told. Still, just an avatar in a computer game - I'll not go too radge over it (unless it's Knuckles from Sonic Boom, which, in the wise words of mandlecreed, "looks like a c**t").
All of these new additions looks like quite good fun to play as. Felt the same way about Wario, Capt. Olimar, Meta Knight, R.O.B. and the rest in Brawl. I think we can all agree that we'd like the new SSB to move on from the days of reskinned characters, like Dr. Mario, Pichu and Ganandorf. |

It's probably the best use of a tongue in the history of the world if you ask me! On another note, how many more characters does everyone think we'll be getting, both from various franchises and in total? Right now we've got 29. With the game presumably in its final stages I'm going to take a stab and say we'll hit between 35 and 41. We still need the second obligatory modern fire emblem protagonist, captain falcon, rob and or game and watch, falco, possibly wolf, meta knight, wario, and ganondorf. And if you count all split forms as individual characters like they're doing with shiek and samus now then there might even be another two pokemon ( my money would be on jigglypuff and mewtwo if that ends up being the case) to bring us six like brawl. And on top of that I think we'll get another completely new character, but not from any currently represented franchise. Some of them might not happen, like the pokemon, or I might be spot on in which case the roster would be 41 in total, two more than brawl. But what does everyone else reckon will happen? |

| I doubt there will be any more Pokemon in the roster. |

| I can see at least one more, to make up for omitted forms. Probably Jigglypuff. Maybe a grass-type starter as well? I want to raise hell as a floral brontosaurus! In total, it's gone 12 -> 25 -> 35 -> ?, and we're getting rid of form changes, so I can't see it being fewer than 45. - The Cappuccino Kid wrote:

This is my stance, especially the last bit. (Oh goodness Pichu. Never has a character been more evidently designed to fill out the character screen.) Greninja looks speedy and fun and teleporty, and I can't wait to hurl Water Shurikens like around it's going out of fashion.

| Jigglypuff is an original Smash character, and none of the originals were removed in Melee or Brawl.
I think the rest of the original characters will be originals. |

Forgot to say in my last post that I think a good chunk of Nintendo fans would recognise cha-cha, especially in Japan where MH is massively popular. |

I just want Pikachu in his blue wizard's hat to return. He was my guy in Melee. In multiplayer I don't remember ever going anybody else. It was a crime that he wasn't in Brawl - an absolute crime. |

| I think Nintendo hinted about the release date really early on. 3DS version / fire / summer! Wii U version / ice / winter! |

| Sorry to burst that bubble, but the Australasian winter is our UK summer, and vice versa...they're getting the games at the same time as us, so... |

It's satire, but I bought it for the first few paragraphs. |

| Obligatory "Nintendo love Mega Man more than Capcom" comment. For what it's worth, and I suspect that isn't much, here's this week's Miiverse updates. - Monday (Returning Assist Trophy):
Nice and detailed, although the "dome" itself could be more jelly-like.
- Tuesday (Returning Item):
Craaaaaaaaaaates.
- Wednesday (Coupl'a Things):
Obviously there was the Direct yestereve. Instead of a Miiverse picture, there were several site additions, and I can't put all the information in here. The site has quite a few new pictures up: http://www.smashbros.com/en-uk/ A few things I've picked up on: Loving the texture on that Substitute. Tortimer Island may not be as placid as thought... And this is just funny.
- Thursday (Not Much):
Nothing we haven't seen before.
- Friday (Smash Run):
Nothing we haven't seen before here either, apart from Sakurai comparing the items to the Powers found in KIU. Also, first shot of a Flame Chomp? Albeit mostly obscured by a red flash.

| Time for a more light-hearted discussion? ONM have put up this list of Z-List "challengers". While I'm laughing my backside off at Xananab and the turds from F-Zero, I can't help feel like Tute would fit in pretty well... Anyway, more ideas for Nintendo Z-List challengers, who could actually be quite fun to play as? - Mike steps up to the... er...:
Sound-based and electricity-based moves. Final Smash involves dropping a DJ deck on the foe and beat-boxing on their prone form. Young Cricket also gets a shout, but we have two ninja characters already.
- Swanky Kong adds some class!:
Plays like a cross between Donkey and Fred Astaire, I'd imagine. Perhaps a tap-dancing version of capoeira, with cane-slapping. Those rings could make decent knuckledusters too.
- Machamp strong-arms his way in!:
Not much description of fighting style necessary. Final Smash has him taking off his boxers, blinding everyone.

| - Pianta plants himself into battle:
"Typically, Piantas wear grass skirts or grass dresses. Piantas are generally laid back, quite strong, and friendly. However, they also have a fairly small temper."Now that sounds interesting to me.

| I just signed up to the ONM forums when I saw this - just under a Mr. Deer. Funky Phil Funks up to the Funky Funk Funk:- Spoiler:
I actually have no idea how you could play as Funky Phil in Smash Bros. - I just thought of a Z list character. My first thought was Queen Ambi, but I couldn't think of a royal or possessed pun. Sigh...
