| On the bright side given she's such a clone of marth odds are she didn't take up development time that would have been used on a new character. And as far as clones go her being a clone of marth makes sense. |

| Don't buy it. There's all the character model creation, the recording of vocal samples, and the balancing to make sure neither one is out-and-out better than the other. I imagine that in the time put into Toon Link and Lucina together, they could have created an entirely new character.
Surely Mewtwo as a Lucario clone would have been a more popular clone choice as well? Would still be rubbish, but perhaps marginally less rubbish. |

| I thought they would put her in as Marth and do the swap like with wii fit trainer.
I don't know if a 5th pokemon which would be a clone would be a great choice, Jigglypuff would be fine as the puff would at least be different.
I can't wait to play as Lucina especially if shes right up there in the Tiers like marth was in Melee & Brawl. Also her Amiibo would be so cool.
IGN have done a rewind video and spotted Brand of the Exalt is missing in Lucinas eye, and they do bring up she seems lighter & faster compared to marth. |

| To be honest I'd rather they just left jigglypuff out, I always cringe and have to force myself to play her when it comes to trying to 100% the game and frankly she just bogs the game down. Especially in brawl, at least in melee she was good at high levels of play, in brawl she was just bad. Speaking of clones I really wish they'd bring back falco, and wolf as well although I don't really get why he's called a clone. His attacks are completely different to fox besides his specials which only resemble fox's aside from the reflector. Oh, almost forgot this! |

| Nope, don't want to see Wolf or Falco. Wouldn't mind Wolf as much, but Falco was just too similar, despite his Reflector-kicking.
Would rather not see 'Puff either - give me a different floaty Pokémon. If they want to represent the fairy-type, how about Clefairy? Or Gardevoir, who has a ready-made Final Smash? The disadvantage of that would be the fanart, of course... |

| I'd like to see Jiggly return, at least it's an interesting move set. I couldn't care much less about the rest of the Star Foxers, I cannot get on with any of their move sets! |

| Basically I want to see some more variety, away from the lynchpins of the franchises. I'd actually be pretty happy with Clefairy being an imitation of Jigglypuff but replacing her, like Lucario for Mewtwo: B - Metronome (random effect); B> - Meteor Mash (like Pound, maybe slower and stronger); B^ - Sing; Bv - Moonlight (gradual recovery); Final Smash - Moonblast (like Lucario). Even has little wings to float with! |

| Bah, just give jigglypuff some fairy type moves. The sleep attack is too iconic to the series to let go! Jig has been in every game, I have no doubts she will be in this one but perhaps left unannounced. |

| Just to chime in - Robin's a naff pick from Fire Emblem but he looks interesting to play, so I'm not too bothered. Chuffed about Lucina though. |

| That's why I said Krystal from Starfox as all the rest will be clones at least with her staff she'd play different.
he/she Jay as I will be using girl robin. |

| I wouldn't mind so much that she's a clone if Ike wasn't a clone too as he's still essentially a clone in my eyes much like Roy before him, there's always been plenty of FE characters to choose from for Smash Bros but I assumed it was limited to 2 for this very reason, to avoid too many similar characters. |

| Adding to that, while Ike did have substantial differences from Marth (and was therefore a "pseudo-clone" in my eyes), from what little was shown Lucina looked like she had exactly the same special moves. More like Roy. I had hoped that we'd moved on from Mêlée-style clones. |

| I'm not seeing how Ike was a clone in any way shape or form. He looks entirely different outside the hair colour and his moves are completely different. |

| I really wouldn't say Ike was a clone either, his moves are totally different it's just the general gist of a few of them are the same (up B is a sword slash up but you aren't gonna mix Ike's sword flipped aether with Marth's little pansy up slice). I think there's plenty of scope to have more Fire Emblem characters, they just keep picking the same average swordspeople. Where are the Archers/Barbarians/Pirates/Wyvern Riders/Pegasus Knights/Mages/Dragons/Laguz/Thieves? The series is hardly lacking types of characters, I'd love to play as Sothe, or even better Tibarn! |

| I've decided! Because of all the whinin going on about her I'm changing my main from marth to Lucina. With some robin on the side naturally. |

<---- (except there) Yup, and I prefer him to Lucina. And Toon Link. As for Ike, I said he was a pseudo-clone. More like Mario and Luigi than anyone else. They both have the leaping slice on B^, the charge-up attack on B, and crucially the counter on Bv. (If anyone goes "are you saying Lucario's a clone now?" I will lose a bundle of respect for them. Certain lack of sword there.) Brawl did clones right - even Falco had different basic attacks and the Reflector-kick. Sadly Lucina seems a lot closer. Andy's right that there are lots of better characters they could have chosen from the franchise. Hell, Robin's one of them! |

| Well yes, I agree with that. (Hm, that could have made great tagline material if mentioned earlier.) Those three are the only ones I'd remove from the thus-far-announced roster.
No, I haven't forgotten someone. While third-party characters remain "a thing", Sonic is the most Nintendo-relevant one we're going to see. |

| Guys... just... trust Sakurai OK? Let all who are in... be in. The more, the merrier.
(which is my way of saying that I haven't played Fire Emblem and don't know who any of these people are, and therefore can't get emotionally involved one way or the other. Okay bye) |

| Let's all agree with Jimbob on this one.
Just watched a IGN video where they talk about the custom moves and palutena with her different moves, also equipment. Sounds really deep but you got to use the default character it sounds like online unless with friends. |
