| Two more becoming five, although it looks like I misread and there's only three in total. |

| Got my hopes up then Nintendo Land would be perfect for DLC, as any multiplayer game is. |

Ooft. I wonder what Nintendo did to piss on EA's chips? Let's see if they announce FIFA, then I'll make up mind about what I think about this. |

| I think the top comment on the second page is what's known, if you can read it (I can only just). Basically, there was going to be some agreement between Nintendo and EA to use Origin for the Wii U's online, and then there wasn't any more, and suddenly EA have a chip the size of a handegg on their shoulder. |

| I really hate that a company like EA can hold the biggest gaming company hostage like this, if the whole origin story is true it's just really childish of EA to hold a grudge like that & isn't it a bit greedy of EA to assume that Nintendo would accept a third party taking control of their online network?
If true it's a total abuse of EAs position in the industry. |

| Ah, who cares? EA are the doofuses there. Probably they're upset because New Leaf is a better city simulator than Sim City. |

| Wait, is "EA aren't releasing Madden because Nintendo didn't use origin" really a thing? That's dumb. |

| Nintendo are bigger than EA and to be honest the only thing that they can really offer is their sports titles which are less likely to sell on Wii U (even if they weren't shoddy ports of Wii versions) because of the already large user bases on PS3 and 360.
EA are nothing. |

| My favourite bit? The EA claim that they still have "a strong partnership with Nintendo". The evidence suggests otherwise, guys! |

| I have a feeling this whole bitterness towards Nintendo is due to their partnership (remember John Riccitiello standing on stage at E3 2011, promising huge things?) falling apart after (apparently) EA demanded Nintendo make Origin the primarily online platform on the system. EA also seemed to invest heavily in Nintendo's online infrastructure, as apparently EA Sports were helping out with it too.
While we might not care about Madden missing Wii U, the lack of EA support is a huge blow to Wii U being a platform for the masses (millions of people enjoy EA's games), but Nintendo themselves have a lineup with mainstream appeal this year so it's probably not too big a deal. |

Me if it comes to pass. I'm guessing they can't call it Eternal Darkness 2 and put it on PC as well. |

If Nintendo coughed up the cash, between this and Bayonetta they could rule the world. |

I really don't believe EA have all that much to offer, sure people enjoy EA games but the likelihood that those people will opt for the Wii U version over another console which they'll no doubt have been loyal to for years is low. EA are also unlikely to spend a great deal of time adding Wii U specific features to help get those gamers buy Wii U versions. |

| I linked that in the rumour thread, given that that's all it is at the moment... But the rumour thread seems to have a rather different purpose now. Anyway, great if true. Not that the CVG AC posters would have you think that. |

| It's certainly bad news on the face of it, but I'm unsure how this'll affect the average Nintendo gamer. Has anybody ever bought a Nintendo console for an EA (or SEGA, Activision or Ubisoft) game? Of course, I'd like all good games to appear on Wii U (EA's NFS:MWU is one of the best games on the console, in my opinion), and EA did contribute some cool stuff to Wii, like MySims, Boom Blox and the arcadey FIFA games. But none of them made the console.
Still, it does seem like they're hedging their bets at the moment - they've assessed the situation and don't like what they see, at least for now. That can change.
On another note, Konami really have a chance to clean up with PES 14 on Wii U now. I'd be making that an absolute priority were I a key member of Konami. |

| You can see the business sense of EA's decision at the minute, too. You concentrate on the XBox and PS3, with millions upon millions of users, and don't put money into the development of a Wii U version, with a far smaller userbase. For me, the issue will be if they don't develop for the Wii U a year or two down the line. |
