Well, my votes are in. That was way harder than the Wii equivalent - the DS is cram packed with the blighters. Some brilliant games were left behind. Can't wait for the results!

So, everyone for strategy and other being split into separate categories?

Also - I'm inclined to combine racing and shooters. Might throw a spanner or two in the works and give people a chance to vote for a full five. Fighting games can bugger off and fight it out in other though.

My votes are in, the DS had some amazing puzzlers.

My issue with shooters/racers is that the two don't have much in common, whereas racing is a sport, sort of.  But then, I suppose neither do farming sims. and visual novels...  Up to everyone else.

I will get my votes in later today at some point, I would love a certain puzzle game to come out on top but I only know of three other GNamer forum members that will vote for it.

Just sent mine, and i can't believe it that i manged 5 games to vote for.

I think my issue is less that they aren't compatible and more that without a second genre, next week will be very very meagre. With shooters involved, it might mix things up. Thoughts?

I don't think shooters would mix things up much either   Other than Prime Huntes were there any?

Well, there's MPH and other FPSes, but you've got your Shmups like Bangai O Spirits, Nanostray, that sort of deal. Even if it doesn't change the overall winner, it'll allow people to have a fully fleshed out list.

Is Hunters even a shooter, when the other Primes were adventures?  It had a multiplayer deathmatch, yes, but so did Echoes.

From what I played of it, I definitely felt it was more "shooty-bang" than adventure. Every site I've checked has it down as a first-person shooter. Open to people making a case for it though!

That was just a guess, I've never played it.

To be honest it felt more shootybang to me too, but I didn't play much of it on account of it being rubbish.

Trace was best multiplayer character though, with the invisible headshots and the turning into a... I don't quite know what in Morph Mode.

Some sort of bizarre slug thing?

That was Kanden.  Trace was more... arachnoid.



EDIT: Why not just put racing, beat-em-ups and shoot-em-ups into the same week and call it "MANLY GAMES", or "CARS FISTS AND GUNS"? (Semi-serious suggestion.)

...that's...actually not a bad idea though. I reckon I may actually go for that.

Kinda of topic, i put up a vote about doing the 3DS 2nd birthday vote with 8 yes and 1 no, with a saying no they don't want to do a vote but never said no. Due to the yes i will be doing a 3DS vote but with the DS vote going at the moment and should take priority over it. 3DS vote will still be done but after the DS vote plus gives people the chance to play mario & luigi dream team bros etc.

Aye, don't want to inundate the forum with voting threads - plus as you said, by the time this is done Dream Team will be out and people will have played it.
