| They went for things based on what they did for the industry as well, so Super Mario Bros made Mario a house hold name etc so it was number 1.
Here's the top 100 in order with a little game. I've played 85 of 100.
I don't know if it will be shown again or how old it is, skyrim seems to be the newest game on the list.
Oh the BAFTA's were last night heres the winners. |

| 2007 was a cracking year for FPSes, seeing Bioshock up there. It had CoD4 and Halo 3 as well. I still stand by it being my favourite year for games. |

| I own a purple suit which has a sort of reddish tint to it so when I looked at myself in the mirror the other day, coupled with my spiked up hair I looked a little bit like Apollo Justice. |

| Question, that may or may not belong here. Does anyone else think that this is becoming more and more of a multiformat site as time goes by? It's the current state of General Gaming that made me notice this: at time of writing, five of the last six threads to be commented in are about games/franchises that, at best, pay cursory nods to Nintendo consoles nowadays (and number seven is about Final Fantasy, a franchise where only the spin-offs see the light of day on Nintendo platforms). And now we've had what I think is one of our first serious multiformat tagline suggestions. Not to mention that one of our most prolific posters doesn't have a currently supported Nintendo console.
Not saying it's a good or bad thing, but has anyone else noticed this? Or is it just me? |

| I think that's down to there not being much coming out for Nintendo systems right now so whilst a lot of our members are Nintendo first they've had a fair bit of time to catch up on some non-Nintendo gaming. There hasn't really been that much Nintendo themed news either without any directs or multiplats hitting the systems. Even the analysts seem to have shut up for a while. |

It's not just you, and it's not just this forum. This is happening at other Nintendo forums, too. |

| I think it's more down to a lull in any substantial titles coming out for the two Ninty consoles. Donkey Kong and Yoshi's New Island didn't seem to garner an awful lot of discussion here, prompting people to play some other things. |

| YNI I can understand, but DKCTF was a substantial game and a good game and I have been doing my darnedest to generate discussion about it. Just... not many takers. What's up with that, then? (For God's sake, chaps, play it! For the soundtrack if nothing else!)
And while I agree that the lack of (widely accepted to be) good games may have been a contributing factor, usually this would result in lots of random threads about opinions and lesser appreciated aspects of games and stuff. In this case, these threads seem to just have been replaced by the aforementioned five or so. Sounds like it isn't just here either.
I think I might try and revive/create a few discussion threads. See if that gets some more Nintendo-format discussion flowing. |

| Currently helping my girlfriend play through Pokémon SoulSilver. It's been really interesting to see it through another person's eyes; she chose Chikorita as a starter because it had the cutest evolutions. She's playing really well, considering this is her first RPG. Falkner was tough, though. Has anyone else helped a non-gamer through a game? |

| I've coaxed my parents into playing various multiplayer games with me, but that's as far as I've got. I have seen my sister trying to guide the same parents through certain passages, but her slightly control-freakish instincts take over, and she ends up basically telling them how to play the game. |

My dad tried playing Skyrim. I think questing wasn't for him - he had more fun killing the tavern wenches and stripping them of their clothes. Don't know what that says about him really. |

Have you ever let him loose on GTA? Me and one of my flatmates introduced another flatmate to BioShock. It turned out she had an incredible thirst for violence, forever bludgeoning corpses with the crowbar. "I need to make sure they're really dead." |

| My Dad, when I was young he played quite a bit and is still half decent at MKII as he still remembers how to do moves for most of the fighters. A few other thing's I remember playing with him Heart of Darkness on the PS1 & few others but most would of been things like's Tekken as anyone can play them just bash the buttons.
He has also tried COD, Halo etc as he's seen me playing them. The problem he has is aiming he can figure out what everything does but just can't seem to move and aim at the same time, he's either looking at the floor or the sky most of the time. So ends up watching like the other day with Titanfall.
No one else really, my uncle who got me into gaming and he used to play all the time but he suddenly stopped and when we go down there for easter, xmas etc and sometimes I've took a PS3 with me as at the time cousin didn't have one. You could never get him to play anything what so ever. |

| My Dad will happily try out puzzle games: the likes of Picross, Tetris and Dr. Mario have been joined by the DS Professor Laytons. I offered him a go of Super Mario Galaxy once, and he just went "No, no no". He said he preferred to watch me play and that it was like watching a cartoon! |

| I did persuade my dad, who actually beat Bowser in the Sky before I did, to try the first level of SMG recently. It was painful to watch. |

| I was playing last night Project Spark Beta on the Xbox One,
If you don't know what it is, it's a creation game a bit like littlebigplanet or minecraft. You can make lot's of cool stuff, linkin park have there current song's music video made with it.
Anyway the level/world I played was called Link's Adventure set in Midrule, you can see where this is going. I thought it be a rubbish a tempted to make OoT in PS but nope it was surprisingly good. It did play more like Fable then Zelda but it was a nice homage, I've not looked to see if there's others like it.
Just wondering what your thoughts are on things like this, people paying homage to other games.
Also not sure if PS is a game or not as it says Beta but you can buy for real money a 6 month pass thing which comes with virtual money to buy stuff to use in levels you make and there's lot's of thing's locked with a coming soon logo. So I think it might be more of service on the MS systems which is kinda cool.
Ohh and the LEGO series under Telltale is something like 10 years old now. |

| Does Project Spark have any non-fantasy stuff? All the footage they've shown seems to involve orcs and goblins.
Also a creation game like that with virtual currency sounds like a terrible idea. |
