| HO HO HO! MERRY CHRISTMAS!Alright, it's basically November, Christmas talk is now legit. So, as discussed all up in here, this year will see the inauguration of GNamer's very first secret Santa. The rules are below, if you want in just pm me your name and address! The Rules
- Everyone who wants to take part, PM me your request along with your address.
- I'll pick names from a hat and PM people to let them know who they've got and where they live. This means the only people who'll see your address are me and whoever's sending you a present.
- I'll draw names at 7pm UK time, the evening of Thursday, November 21, so there will be plenty of time to buy, wrap and post presents. It would suck if someone missed out and their present arrived in January.
- No matter how early your present arrives, we all open them on December 25th and post our thanks/ pics/ disgust.
- Limit of £15, not including postage.
- I'm taking part! I'm not sitting out just because I'm organising, this should be a lot of fun.
- NO DROPPING HINTS. We all know eachother well enough to pick presents.
- Gifts must be physical, tangible things.
- If you say you're taking part then don't post out your present you'll be totally ostracized from the gang.

Do we? Oh. I'd rather have costs not involving postage, otherwise that puts people with a recipient on the other side of the country/planet at a disadvantage. (Amazon etc. postage is another kettle of fish.) That aside, seems fine to me!

| Well, going through people's posts and that, you should be able to get a decent idea. And if all else fails, get something stupid and funny!
I was thinking that way about postage, especially seeing as you might not know about postage until after you've gone and bought a present. |

| Postage for the Aussies will be pretty big, that needs to be factored in. Otherwise, I'd be keen for this! |

| If any Aussies decide they want in, we'll sort something out. It's always possible to just order a present from a website to be delivered in another country- that's what we do with my Australian uncle. |

| I'm liking this plan. All I'd suggest we add is that the gifts should be physical (i.e. nothing sent over eShop/PSN/Steam, or charity donations, or sponsoring an animal, or naming a star, etc etc) and that they maybe be gaming-related. Hopefully the reliability aspect of these things won't be an issue here, but just to be sure it might be a suggestion to name and shame people who don't send gifts out in time/at all. We don't want folk looking just looking for a freebie, after all. Maybe Balladeer's banhammer could make an appearance if so?
I'm in, by the way. |

| I agree with the cappachino kid in that it should be a physical thing that's in some way gaming related. And you can count me in to be someone's secret satan, too. |

Might have to get back to you on whether or not I'm participating, though. |

| I agree with them rules but I like beemoh will have to wait and see if I can take part. Should probably make sure I can actually get something for the girlfriend first. |

| Agree with the physicality, but not the gaming-related-ness. Surely there'd be more potential for hilarity - er, I mean, thoughtful gifts if we cast the presents net a bit wider? Of course, if everyone else wants to do it that way, I won't object further.
Happy to shame anyone who doesn't provide with a ban as well. This is serious business, chaps! |

| Definitely it should be physical. I don't think it has to be gaming related, but maybe it should be a rule that you have to get something specific to your Secret Santee and not just a generic present?
And yeah, if you're in, don't be a dick. |

| I just thought that keeping it gaming-related would make things a bit easier for some of us, but, youse are right, it shouldn't be imperative. There's scope for gifts to be gaming related and not, mind. You could wind up buying more than one thing within a tenner budget, after all. |

| True that. I'd imagine most of what gets bought will probably be gaming related whether that's a hard and fast rule or not. |

| Obviously, send me your details whenever you want. As a tentative date, how about I pick names on 19th November. That's the day before Zelda and gnives about a month to get gifts out. So as long as you've gotten your definite yes and your adress in to me by that day, you're in.

How does this work for our international chums, if they're playing? Fifteen of our Queen's English Pounds in local currency, or fifteen of local currency? |
