I think the idea is that the gifts are anonymous (and then most of the senders will out themselves anyway, unless there's a firm rule stating otherwise).

Yeah it's secret santa afterall, if I you were sent a cool present then wanted to thank the person then you should say if you sent it.

Just a thought: maybe we could mark parcels with the code 'GNSS' (GNamer Secret Santa) or something similar. If you're like me and you receive random eBay parcels from time to time, this'll mark them out to us and keep the contents a mystery from prying eyes (I had three parcels go missing in the mail in a short space of time last year).

Also, for those of us on social media, perhaps don't mention when we send out our present. If the recipient sees a message about it being sent, and receives an GNSS a few days later, it'll give the game away.

I had that thought actually. Hopefully people have that much common sense though...

That was my intention. I'm still trying to decide what sort of thing to buy, not sure whether it should be 'serious' or 'silly'.
