I like to reply to stuff as quickly as possible but it can't always be done! I'm also a world-class procrastinator, which doesn't help things. I do feel, though, that you can't expect everyone to reply immediately: we're all different, après tout.

I get all het up over long reply times, but at the same time I understand that's often my fault. It happens, you know? That said, I do feel it's good manners to reply as soon as you can after actually reading the damn thing. I try my best to get back promptly enough, although I'm worried people will think me over-eager, and will fall into other people's replying patterns.

A third member of my close-knit group of childhood friends got engaged today. I just returned home from a lovely evening of chat and champagne. I'm the oldest one, as well!

Pleased for your friend! It is weird though how some people get round to these romantic milestones so much quicker than others. Speaking of milestones, I was at a lame singles party on Tuesday to celebrate being alone, and a boy (I don't know if it's ever come up, what with this being a gaming forum but I'm bi) with whom I've been talking for a while now played tonsil tennis with me for what felt like not very long but it definitely happened, it was a new experience for me, having never done the kissing thing before. It was pretty neat.
On the reply note, I usually reply as soon as I can but sometimes I could be doing something else at the same time usually working or playing a game and I'll read it and then decide to reply later. And sometimes "later" becomes in a week.
On the replying late note, my proudest achievement thus far is telling a friend of mine from secondary school that I would speak to him later because I'm busy, that was before I started uni, once I finish I'll follow it up with a picture of me in my coloured cape holding my shiny degree and crippling debt.

No shiny refers to some kind of esoteric character trait or something poetic like that. Not that I'd know anything about being poetic, I'm just a lowly programmer. Rest assured his scalp is generously populated with working hair follicles.

On the website I use to meet people with *ahem* shared interests, I've had a good run recently of lassies contacting me out of the blue, which is a nice feeling. It generally goes well, we get to talking, maybe even talk about meeting in person, then . . . nothing. Zilch. They ghost on me. I sometimes follow up a little, and might get a bit of a reply, other times I try to play it cool . . .

Weird one. Probably just another case of me being someone who's always connected and waiting for dat reply, and normal people being able to log off from cyberspace.

Well I met my last girlfriend and someone I've seen casually through this website, and made a couple of friendships, it's just that I've had a couple of similar experiences close together.

Dating sites work brilliantly for some, although I get the feeling that they're the same people who do well in romance anyway. Can give a good account of themselves, not put off by failures etc. The latter part is where I fall down.

Yes yes, it's a fetish meetup site. Maybe it's just the sort of people I mix with, but while I'd feel squeamish about going on one, I didn't mind hearing about 'em so much. Just as long as it's kept to that and not what you do as a result.

It's not just a meetup site, it's pretty much a whole social network like its own facebook/ forum/ youtube, but aye, people meet there. That's why I was being so weird talking about it. It doesn't really function as a pure dating site, but to explain that, I'd have to say what it is . . . but yeah, I totally told you all just to make a lame Pokémon S&M joke, didn't I?

That actually sounds good the whole social thing as the ones I've tried aren't like that.
