| As a big fan of Metroid I absolutely love this crossover but hopefully these crossovers get more people checking out the game, I'd also like to see Nintendo go all out in advertising this as well. (hey I can dream, can't I?)
Oh I wonder if that armour is female only?
(side note: For those who don't know male and female hunter amours always have different looks to them & I think the solid snake amour in portable 3rd was male only) |

| Just imagine: finish the quest in a certain time limit and she steps out of her suit, and... she's a man! |

| Mega man is the latest palico gear. http://www.capcom-unity.com/monster_hunter/blog/2014/10/11/monster-hunter-4u-palicoes-get-equipped-with-mega-man-gear and also Tetsuya Nomura (of square enix fame) has worked on some armour designs. |

| A rumour is circulating that we might be getting a demo (which has online play) for this as soon as this weekend, the main reason being there are a few European MH4U events happening.
Germany just had theirs on the 8th, France will have one on the 10th and finally the UK on the 11th for those attending the (German) event they were allowed to download a special demo, now I'm not quite sure who said this (possibly a Capcom rep) so take it with a pinch of salt but when talking about the demo they said "it's not available on the Nintendo e-shop yet, you are the first in Germany to play this"
So to those not yet sold on MH would a demo interest you? |

I don't know how well a demo. would sell this game. It seems to be one where you need to really get into it to reap the rewards. That said, with the paucity of other 3DS games announced for 2015, I may not require a demo. I would like to know, though: is there generally a substantial aspect to the MH games for someone who doesn't, shouldn't, or can't play offline? |

| Yeah, everything in the game can be played solo if you so wish. I'm pretty sure this game will have AI companions of some sort that you can manage and take along for the ride.
The offline progression is pretty accommodating for new players, by the time you are done with that, challenging online quests solo is a plausible thing to do. MH3U was way too easy online 4 players often wrecked the challenge of it all.
Its always a great game for play time>money. |

| Time is always the worry, but I reckon if I can stay offline (and there may not be an option, depending on my connection) I should be fine. Thanks Vido. |

| I'm fearing that Vido may be coming from some crazy hardcore Monster Hunting perspective, I wouldn't be keen to rush in to trying the multiplayer quests solo, particularly anything after the first 3rd. The solo stuff tends to have difficulty spikes as well (can't speak for 4U but without MP in 3U I wouldn't have got anywhere near as far as I did) It'll also feel more grindy from an equipment perspective, plus the best way to learn is from your fellow hunters. Without Jas I wouldn't have known half the things I do about MH.
So overall I can't say I'd recommend 3U or Tri coming from a single player perspective, but maybe 4 is more accommodating. |

| Aye, that's probably the safest bet. I know there are some folks who are quite happy to never touch the multiplayer and can just destroy any monster on their own, however it is very difficult and something I'd only advise to the most hardened fan (despite putting several hundred hours into tri/3U I don't think I'd be able to |

| From IGN's preview piece and a few other places MH4U is meant to be the most accessible yet in the series, which to me is a good thing as like you Balla I'm new to MH.
I do own MH3U on Wii U but haven't played it that much and I feel I'm so far behind Jas etc that I can't really join in with MP which is a real draw to me with this series.
So I'm picking up MH4U day one and hoping I can join and keep up the pace with Jas etc but just on it's Single Player I'm not to sure about it. I feel I'll play to get some cool gear that will get me on similar level to everyone playing MP and just play missions through that.
But this sort of game is popular on a handheld that might be due, to some missions only taking about 10 minutes sometimes that could be idle on a journey. |

| Haha, ok i'll admit I do have a 'crazy perspective' as Andyman put it. Do many of the forum still play multiplayer on the WiiU version? Id be quite happy to jump in anytime people are online. |

| We do indeed though most times we have a full team but a slot usually opens up sometimes so we will let ye know if we're in need of another.
---
I think the accessibility of MH has always improved with each passing version as they improve the general mechanics or the structure of opening quests, teaching you the basics etc, with MH4 & 4U though I've heard some say high rank quests were harder than in 3U so who knows maybe it isn't quite that straight forward. |

| I bet the special demo will be distributed via email to those who 'meet the criteria', like Tomodachi Life and Smash Bros. Which means I won't get one. Not happy if true. |

| If I remember rightly, didn't the last MonHan demo totally fail to get the game across to people? Also, they can't pull another restricted demo: it's not good business sense. |

Aye it certainly wasn't one for newcomers to the series, going by the special demo at these past few events it seems like they've learned from that mistake with tutorials on how each of the weapons attacks work & an arrow guide that helps keeps track of the monster. |
