| I found DD on my way to, like, mission 2. I've been doing every side op as it comes up, so far. |

| I've got a mother base question, how in the hell do you equip your guys with certain guns? Not sure if it's possible but green writing under a gun I recently produced says it's "suitable for my security unit" but I see no way to equip it for said unit.

| I think that's just for the FOB which we obviously don't have access to yet. There's no need for Security outside of that from what I've seen. |

| Had a quick look this morning now the online is live, I can set the weapon types to Short, Medium and Long Range. Don't seem to have any equipping otherwise, perhaps it just picks the best stuff you've got?
Got a bit of a niggle at the moment with the auto assign, it doesn't seem to assign anyone to the Security Team by default so I never have anyone in it. This will be a problem now I have a FOB... Also the iDroid is SOOOO SLOOOWWW now the online features are on, I hope that's something that'll get sorted out as it comes online properly.
Finally the pace seems to have dropped off a bit. I'd really like another location to visit but I don't think I'm getting one, hoping to get stuck in this evening and hopefully the pace will pick up again. |

| I had loading issues as well & I kept being disconnected too so I just went back to offline mode not to mention I can't see the benefit to being online in the first place. |

| I think it's just for the FOB thing, I was getting a few matches of that and kicking ass so it certainly benefited me. Judging from the patch notes when I logged on they're working on getting it to be smoother anyway. Plus there are the daily bonuses which I'm quite happy about, will be good to get some of those MB Coins in particular |

| It's pretty well tutorialised once you've done the right mission. You build it in the base development menu, so you'll know if you can do it because it's actually there. You can only "buy" the waters for it if you're online though. |

| I played 2 Story missions yesterday, 45 and 46. One was probably my favourite part of the game, the other was wholeheartedly one of the worst bits in any game ever.
I'm starting to get a bit pissed off with the end game, I don't know if it's deliberately fractured/locked off but it's totally ruined the pace... |

| Peace Walker had a weird endgame as well. I'm still miles from that, mind. - Spoiler:
only just got Quiet back to base and unlocked 5he ability to take DD on missions. The boss fight and subsequent scene with Quiet was solidly excellent and also the most Metal gear the game has felt.

So, I couldn't really wait and I've started MGS2. I'm already pretty impressed by the changes - shooting is so much easier than in MGS1, Snake moves about easier, and graphically (and I realise this is probably down the HD port) it looks decent. I've only played an hour or so - taken out the first boss and got the first proper gun - but a thumbs up from me so far. |

I'm on about mission 26 of MGSV, still loving it. |

| Andy which one was the worst part from what I've heard is mission 45 is good and 46 is brilliant but is locked unless you done all important side-ops and not done mission 45 first & 47-50. I that right? |

| Not sure where you heard that mas, but 46 is an absolute joke. 45 is the brilliant one and I played that before 46. 47-50 don't seem significant at all tbh. |

| It's like it in the respect that it's not fun to play I guess. You'll see, you'll all see... (maybe) Edit: Has everyone heard about the cut episode 51? The one which the cutscenes of made their way into the special edition and are now on youtube. - Only really a spoiler if you consider a lose description of the types of the last few missions:
The last few missions are retreads of the select previous missions, I've been working my way through the total stealth ones fine and was just left with Extreme versions of boss battles. These are pretty unfair and simply not fun.
So after giving up on those missions I thought I'd have a quick look online to see if I was actually working towards something that would actually wrap several loose ends up. Nope... It has been cut... I am so disappointed. So yeah, turns out I hadn't realised the game had ended... |

| Played a lot of MGS2 today - has everyone played it here? I'll spoiler it anyway. - Spoiler:
So, Snake's section was way shorter than I expected. I picked up today after the Olga boss fight and 45 minutes later I was playing as Raiden. No fucking clue what's going on with Ocelot/Liquid. Ocelot's got Liquid's arm transplanted onto him which has given him Liquid's personality...? Mad, but I love it. As for Raiden... he's a bit of a goober, isn't he? Didn't realise how whiny his voice was, and then when Totally Not Snake Guys Honest turned up, it just made me want to play as Snake again. Plus, he's responsible for Mei Ling's inferior replacement, so another con in my eyes against Raiden. Still, I'm enjoying Raiden's section more than Snake's because it feels more like MGS1 - you've got your rogue's gallery of crazy villains (woman who can't be shot carrying about a big fuck-off rail gun? Awesome. An ACTUAL VAMPIRE? Alright, cool. The Kingpin but with bombs instead of money? Not bad!) and it feels like proper Metal Gear. Loved hearing the Colonel again. I finished up just preparing to go into the Shell 1 Core - knocked off Fatman (his boss fight was okay, nothing too great but fun enough!) and picked up my AK74u to complete my disguise.

| You sound like you're enjoying MGS2 in much the same way as me; I love the silliness and the Raiden situation didn't bother me as much as it did people who had been fooled by the marketing lead up that made it look like snake was the protagonist for the whole game. - JayMoyles wrote:

I mean, it's not like Snake isn't there... Raiden's a bit lame, but Snake's still kicking about on the radio. Also, those shifty eyes have me concerned for big story twists coming up. I think I'm going to forgo my Metal Gear breaks and just try and blitz the series, considering I'm likely going to end up with a PS4 and MGSV by the end of the month. |

| Just so you know, what I was saying earlier about MGS2 having a big twist that can be spoiled: that was just referring to Raiden. I was really hoping you'd go in thinking it was Snake all the way so I could get that reaction from you. - Phantom Pain chat:
Made a little more progress today. After playing around with some side ops in Afghanistan I went and did the first Africa mission. I would have gotten quite a high rank, I think, but I dropped down into what I thought was the floor but was actually insta-death water. After this mission and the one where the METAL GEAR appeared, I'm actually kinda regretting the combination of me being alright at the game and the ol' Summerhayes luck meaning I missed out on tense chases and slipped away unnoticed.
