Splatoon (or LOOK IT'S A NEW NINTENDO IP WILL YOU SHUT UP NOW)

(Sorry for stealing all the new game threads.  I just really wanted to have this title.)

It's a four-on-four team shooter, where you turn into squids to swim through ink, and the winner is the one with the inkiest battlefield at the end.  Very much one for the online gamer, which I'm not, but I like the squids.  Their humanoid forms look a bit odd though.

No! I didn't want an original idea! I wanted Nintendo to bring out their own brown space marine shooter

I've got to admit, I did think, after 5 minutes: "I can't wait for the internet's reaction to this *sigh*" but those characters are absolutely adorable.

I've watched enough anime. I know that squid-people get all the ladies.

I was watching and thought "they can't surely finish on this" in the same way many of the anti-Nintendo Land folk did a few years back but after seeing a bit more it seems like one of the freshest ideas I've seen for a long time, it's gonna be such a blast online I just know it, I just hope people don't write it off on first glance like I almost did.

I think it'll be fun and interesting to see who will do what in the game like stay behind or go in squids a blazing

It looks like great fun but I felt like we were getting battered over the head with it a bit after the NDE & as much as I like online gaming I'd still like a good single player experience in there as well.

Otherwise, I quite like the look of this, and it's another example of Nintendo giving me a game I didn't know I wanted.

I think this is the sort of game I'd play for 15 minutes, have fun, and then not have a hankering to play it again. I enjoy a single player experience in tandem with multiplayer, like Jas.

This is my favourite game of E3. Really like it. I wish we could play it now.

Love this. Like Devil's Third, I love a shooter that doesn't take itself so seriously. But I also like how this is completely unconventional, and utilises Nintendo's strengths to do something unique that's (probably) just as entertaining to watch as it is to play.

Was also happy to see it's developed in-house, perhaps the days of Nintendo of dedicating in-house teams to completely and wholly new (so, not just from a gameplay perspective) are back?

The octopodes are coming for you...

That just get's better the more I watch it but I do wish they had at least put a month in front of the year 2015 the music for the octopodes is great though.

As Zelda and SFU hog all the limelight, let's not forget that the Splatoon developers are giving us more and more information on Twitter. Concept art of a boss, customisation details, and some close-up octopodes on view.

It does look good, I hope we get early Q2.

That's worlds away from the Super Squid Galaxy we've seen up until now: closer to Squidlight Princess. Still looking good, mind.

I got a Pikmin vibe from it to be honest, anyhow I'm assuming it's a new multiplayer map.

That's pretty cool; I like the idea of the non-paint world having such a contrast with the bright paint environment.

Every single look I get at this game, it looks better and better.

Great to see this will be out *touches wood* in May, also was anyone else reminded of TWEWY upon seeing the plaza area?

Hey they took my Miiverse Home idea kinda but does look good hopefully the community is there.
