Very good. "Bantz", and all that pish.

I've now seen that Festival of Friendship on YouTube, and it was superbly done. I don't watch enough WWE but be absolutely certain, but if I think that might be the best thing that's happened on RAW since Daniel Bryan turned good on the Wyatts in the cage. Top drawer.
I'd base the entire of WrestleMania around Undertaker Vs. Cena - everything else would just be undercard.

On an unrelated note, Kevin Owen's betrayal on Chris Jericho had me gutted. I didn't see it coming at all - it was WWE's Red Wedding. It's also done the impossible of wanting me to see Goldberg destroy KO now, but I reckon KO's downfall will come with Jericho costing him the match.
I've just seen this & thought it was excellent! I always thought we were going to get a sneak attack from Jericho at some point but I think WWE have made the correct choice here seeing as the Jericho heel turn has went full circle into a role that the crowd love.
I only hope KO can beat Goldberg somehow because both KO & Jericho deserve that top Raw spot on WM.

Yep - that's absolutely how I felt as well. It's rare that wrestling gets me riled up beyond "that was a fucking awful match", but that Jericho segment had me seething towards KO. Excellently done.
As for my predictions, I knew I'd end up forgetting someone. Joe vs Rollins with Triple H in Joe's corner is a shout. And don't get me wrong, I want Undertaker/Cena. I just don't think we'll get it considering Taker and Roman's staredown at the Rumble.

Am I the only one who thinks The Undertaker has now run his course? Ever since the streak, I've lost all interest in his character given it's only around in Wrestlemania season.

I just want to see the fella get a proper send off at this point, and for my money Cena is the only wrestler capable of putting on that match.
Win or lose, it'd be a huge wrestlemania moment, and nicely wrap up the deadman's career. I'm sure some will feel like he should put over a youngster, but as you say the streak is over, he's not the character or the wrestler he once was. Let's just have one last hurrah to celebrate his career and move on.

Yeah, the time for him to retire is soon but he can't just quietly stop appearing. He needs to go out with a bang!

A bit behind here, but earlier I found out that Rick Rude is going into the WWE Hall of Fame. Some man. His WCW entrance theme is quite probably one of the best wrestling tunes ever.

It's not hyperbole for me to say that Southpaw Regional Wrestling is one of my absolute favourite things that the WWE has ever done since I started watching it over twenty years ago. It's all highlights.
This should have been bigger news, but no; Paige had to go and get battered right up the arse.

Anybody arsed about WrestleMania this year? I've not paid much attention to it myself, and I remember staying up until bollocks o'clock in the morning last year and being tired until July. I'm not doing that this year though - nut.

I just watched WRASSLEMANIA and had a great time. Despite going into with low expectations, I was surprised and impressed by most of it. I had a big crowd of lads round and drank an insane ammount of cider which I'm now suffering through.
Match Chat:
Cruiserweight Title Good Match, put on a show. The Cruiserweights, especially Neville, are always quality so it's a shame they keep getting bumped to pre-show.
Battle Royal It was a nice touch playing up the way everyone assumed it'd be about the two big'ns, then shunting them out. The finish was done well, as far as getting celebrity mates involved ever is, but I really dislike Mojo. Lame.
Intercontinental I love Dean, and his finish here was really cool. Again, shame this was preshow but the difference is moot with mania.
Style/ McMahon BLINDER of a match, great start to the show.
United States Championship Quality fight, correct result, and KO broke my heart. "You were NEVER my best friend."
Raw Women's Championship Really, really good match. I was kinda hoping Nia would win, but this is Mania and you need faces with titles. That said, considering it boiled down to Bayley v Charlotte anyway, they shouldn't have wasted breaking Charlotte's streak on Fast Lane. Bayley's moment would have felt bigger as a first time thing at Mania. What can you do?
Raw Tag Ladder Match HARDY BOYZ! Loved this, even after the rumours I never really expected them to show up. Doesn't seem like they've brought the "broken" thing with them, which would be a crying shame. Even so, they've already done more in their return than the bloody Dudleys did.
Mixed Tag Fuck's sake. I was saying Cena would propose before anyone else. People laughed at me! I should've put a tenner down there and then. Oh well, I was happy for them. Nice people.
Non Sanctioned Match Cool entrance (by Rollins, not by Grampa H on his Rascal). I was expecting interference, Balor and Joe or something, and I'm glad I was wrong. Nice fight.
Smackdown Women's Glad it went back to Naomi. There were some cool moments, but the finish was a bit sudden. I liked it though.
WWE Championship Really, really cool match. Loved all Bray's weird shit. Did not enjoy Randy winning so soon after Bray finally started doing well
Universal Championship They put on a show. Big lads doing big moves. POW POW POW. Exactly what I wanted from lesnar/ goldberg.
Reigns v Taker I'm still not a fan of this match even happening. Taker should have stopped after Lesnar, or gone out to Bray. That said, if this was gonna be the match-up there was only one way it could end. Roman Reigns is the biggest monster heel in the company, whether it's deliberate trolling or just terrible booking.

I feel like that was a vast improvement on last year's show.
Spoiler:
sad to see taker go out to Roman without a big heel turn and such a weak build. Feel like the retirement angle should've been played up more beforehand. Nice farewell though.
Didn't have many complaints tbh, but I had plenty to drink so

Really enjoyed it this year. Agree with Muss, big step up from last year.
My thoughts:
My positives:
• I completely lost my s*** when the Hardy Boyz showed up – they played that perfectly. Also the Kurt Angle “You Suck” chants almost brought a tear to my eye – his Hall of Fame speech is worth watching too. • The Seth vs HHH match was my “didn’t expect much but it was actually perfectly executed”. AJ vs Shane was a good way to start the PPV (I didn’t see the Pre Show – 5 hours for the main show was more than enough). • The production values were insane – I often found myself wondering how hard it was to organise the entrances, let alone the guys sorting out the neat ramp effects. • Miz’s back-n-forth with the fans. • KO vs. Jericho was as brilliant as expected. Do not know how Owens convinces opponents to take that apron powerbomb – it looks nasty. • The Pitbull/Flo-Rida segment wasn’t cringeworthy – it actually fitted. • Not having Rock or Stone Cold or Hogan or [insert wrestling legend here] doing a promo was welcome. • Shane McMahon has actually got better in the ring.
My criticisms:
• My main issue was the length of the show – 5 hours is surely offputting to anybody who isn’t a hardcore wrestling fan. I debated watching it over two nights but with Raw as well, there was only so long I could hold out without encountering spoilers. • The Roman vs Taker match was a bit flat. • JR should have called the Hardy Boyz bit – “BAH GAWD THE HARDY BOYZ THE HARDY BOYZ” • The Lesnar vs Goldberg match could have done with more moves – to me it makes them both look a bit s***. They both have 2 moves…

Aye, it was too long for a wrestling show. There was a point around HHH vs Rollins where I was totally flat on energy and it took Brock/Goldberg to wake me up again with their high impact match. As a whole, I enjoyed the show, but chop a couple of hours off the show next year please!

I was alright with the length but I think being with a group of nine people made the difference. there were plenty of matches I half watched.
In sad news it looks like Mauro isn't coming back. Enjoyed his work. If it's true that jbl bullied him to the point of his bipolar disorder flaring up with avengence then the wwe need to fire him. Be a star and all that.

Wrestlemania for me is always a big night with lots of friends and lots of drinking so I'm happy for it to be long. Sat alone watching it with full concentration would be a different story.
I haven't actually gone back and given any matches a sobre watch yet, will have to see Lesnar/ Goldberg and Taker/ Reigns at least as I can hardly remember anything other than enjoying them.

I was walking through Sauchiehall Street earlier and I clocked an ICW poster on an old phone booth. I don't usually pay attention to a wrestling poster, but it had Grado on it, just Grado, and he was wearing a really sharp suit, with his sunglasses on. It was very much at odds with the usual Grado poster, where he's mincing about in the top left corner while someone like Hardcore Holly or D-Von Dudley is in the middle. I'd guessed that he'd turned heel, and I went to the ICW YouTube channel to see if I could find anything out about it. Because it's Grado, needless to say, these are quality.

The UK Championship match was a cracker and a half though - topped Omega/Okada as my match of the year to date.

The best match of the year was the tag team match at Backlash, so I don't know what you're all on about.

I didn't think Backlash was all that bad, order of the matches could have been better but a solid showing from everyone involved & despite the main event being quite simple on a technical level they told a good story while delivering an end no one saw coming.
Jinder will either lose on SD live tomorrow or be beat in a couple weeks at the most.
