| I was just glad to see the Xenoblade battle system was there at heart. This is probably my most anticipated Wii U game ever. |

| I was rather hoping they'd take a leaf out of The Last Story's book. Oh well. Damn it, that's not funny without Vido around. |

| Based on the previous trailer, I wasn't expecting that kind of battle system. Which is a big shame for me (as I hate that kind of system). |

| What's wrong with it? It's better than turn-based combat, and the mechs add something new. Of every "true" RPG I've played, only TLS beats Xenoblade's, with a couple of the Mario RPGs coming close. |

| Between the mechs, the combat, and the snatches of music I think I just dirtied my pair of underwear, so far this is looking as good as my hype. Release when!? |

Agreed. It's just much more involving than a turn based system & requires more skill rather than grinding/luck. ---- One thing I did notice during the battle sequence is that the top left names changed from tester, player 2, 3 & 4 to Tester & 3 actual player names, could this be a drop in/out online co-op system or just the characters names? |

Could the names be the names of the mechs? It looked to me like they changed when they got in the mechs, and when the main guy got out his name changed back to tester. |

| This is still my more anticipated Wii U games and one of my most overall even without playing Xenoblade.

| Found the trailer. Couple of things I've noticed: - Four people in your party now. There could well be multiplayer possibilities there.
- It sounds like, if anything, there will be even more soundbite repetition in this one.
- REAL TIME WEAPON CHANGE! From sword to gun at 0:18, and back later. Perhaps done via the touch-screen? Anyway, I hope this doesn't mean a total end to "role specialisation": I liked how, in Xenoblade, everyone had their own strengths (apart from Reyn).
- The small monster seems awfully resilient, given that it's level 13.
- The giant monkey thing looks great. You probably all noticed this, but look at its face! (At, say, 1:56.) Nice sunset too.
- Were "drop results" a thing in Xenoblade? Could you even get loot from defeated foes? I don't think you could. That's a nice addition - I hope we get treasure chests too!

| You got loot from almost all foes in xenoblade, there was no results screen in it however. |

| I tried that, but basically Dunban could do it better, while simultaneously seeming to have better attack. |

| I used everyone on rotation (apart from Shulk as I liked playing as him). So no issues with Reyn here. |

| Agreed with all of Balladeer's big impressions on the Nintendo Direct trailer.
I just wish Nintendo showed off more -- I fear that trailer isn't going to reach more than the converted, really, I'm sure there's far more cool things to show us than just a snippet of the battle system. |

Perhaps so, but is it "Dunban time"? No, I thought not! I also concur on the awesome-looking-ness of X. A more story-based trailer might sell it a bit more than this did, to the non-Xenoblade loving crowd. I would also like some localised stuff so I can follow the action a bit better, but I understand that's the last thing they do, and it's a ways away. Here's hoping for more British voices (I'm hoping the whole of the UK and not just the West Country get a look in this time! And please please please don't let the American JRPG-part-timer brigade voice act it now it's popular...) |

| So this is called Xenoblade Chronicles X, is out next year, is set on earth (so I'm not sure how it goes with xenoblade, the graphics looked a little more stylised compared to earlier trailers. |

| This looked really nice on the treehouse stream & makes me want to go back and finally finish off the first, I usually hit a wall in RPGs and its all in the time/hours played no matter how much I have enjoyed the game I can't help but feel like it should be done after 60+ hours. (I even experienced this with dark souls 2 which I haven't played in weeks) |

| Reyn was awful after the midway point in the game. After using Shulk, Dunban and - Seven:
Fiora
I could find no better trio. Back on point X looks very interesting, it looks like a sequel to me. I'm not the biggest fan of giant robots but if they keep that battle system I cannot see them going wrong. |

| It's odd, because XC and now XCX thrive on huge vistas, but I don't think this was shown off that well, either in the NDE or during the Treehouse whatsit afterwards. I know it'll be great, but it just seemed a bit... slow. Of course, these are the opening segments of a JRPG, so it's going to be a bit slow, but... I dunno, maybe show off a midway point for gameplay purposes, when you have some decent tactics available?
Not so keen on the user-designed main character either, unless they can give him/her a proper personality. |
