| Ah, is that out for rental now? Might see if that's out on the ol' Sky box and give it a rental this weekend myself. |

| Watched Birdman recently and it was excellent. Laughed, cried, the whole shebang. Norton was hilarious, but it was also fun watching Michael Keaton wrestling with past blockbuster success as I still know him mostly for Batman.
I stupidly spent £50 on DVDs (which equates to about 50 films) so I have a LOT of "Best Picture" nominees along with the "Best Picture" winners on Blu-Ray.
Next up... Boyhood. |

| Birdman is awesome. I remember being utterly entranced watching that in cinema - it doesn't let up for its whole runtime. Gripping stuff. |

| I'm not sold on the style of some of the Mon but it looks okay.
What a day that and Toy Story 4 |

| Oh. The style is pretty creepy! And why did they have to include a scene with the creepiest Pokémon of all, Mr. Mime?! I think the writing will hold up based on that trailer, but "realistic" looking Pokémon - heavy emphasis on the quote marks - wasn't what I expected them to go with. |

| I'm only in it for the monster designs and CGI, the rest looks a bit bobbins. But boy am I in it for the monster designs and CGI.
Since when's Jigglypuff furry though? (Also I notice some Morelulls in that Bulbasaur scene - this goes all the way to Gen. 7 folks.) |

| Yup the pokemon definitely look odd, obviously it doesn't bother me with having no attachment to the series but would it be such a hard sell if they were in their normal cartoon style? (Who framed Roger rabbit comes to mind) |

| I was expecting something closer in vibe to the CGI animation they had for the game - like the Danny DeVito trailer that somebody cobbled together. |

| I dunno. I dunno! My opinion is changing by the second. I like fluffy Pikachu - they should have ret-conned fur-mapping for the Let's Go! games I reckon. But yeah, Jigglypuff is a balloon, and should not be furry. I fear the actual dialogue is going to be craptacular, though. |

| I really like the look of it. A roger-rabbit deal would be pointless, we have an anime and loads of games. Seeing the monsters brought to life is what I'd be going to a movie like this for. Well, that and Watanabe Ken. It certainly looks more like Pokemon than Monster Hunter looks like Monster Hunter . . . - Balladeer wrote:

Pokedex entries repeatedly mention soft fur. #SuckIt #HaveThat #Lawyered #LukeLovesPokemon #Owned #Pwnd |

Just you wait for the third act of the movie when Pikachu and his pal must outrun a crack squad of CIA agents who have been transported to the Pokémon world from ours, it'll blow you away. |

| I doubt I'll be seeing any more films from this year, even though from looking there is a fair few I would like to see at some point but at the moment these are the films I saw in order of rank.
1st Black Panther Avengers: Infinity War Solo: A Star Wars Story Ant-Man and the Wasp Aquaman Tomb Raider Deadpool 2 8th Ready Player One
I really didn't see a lot this year

| Not planning on seeing Into the Spiderverse, Mas? I saw that a few days ago - a treat for the eyes and I'll even go as far to say that it's the best Spider-Man movie to date. |
