Champion of our hearts who fully respects Mario Strikers back to winning ways thanks to Wonderful Waluigi
After the devastating loss to this great nation in recent days (Muss Vs. Smurf, natch) the Comets faced a sharp challenge in the form of Cappa's Spikes. It looked as if we were in for another terrible time as the Spikes took the lead almost immediately, it was short lived though as Rosalina scored a quick reply, 1-1 after 11 seconds.
Smurf's team used this as a springboard and soon took the lead from an unlikely source, Waluigi with a long range strike in off the post which was repeated again soon after with a near identical strike to make it 3-1. The home sides scoring was complete when the long legged lothario found time for a perfect hyper strike capping a man of the match performance.
Mario replied with a hyper strike of his own to bring the teams closer together and set up for a nervy final minute but in the end the league leaders retained their spot, setting up for an important clash next week with probable underhanded rogue Jas.

I want to postpone any future matches until Pauline is added so I can have a full team of tall beautiful Amazon women who Mario obviously likes to step on his neck and/ or balls.

While the extra free dlc characters are nice for this I think this last announcement confirms they don't have any plans for QoL improvements in these updates & that's a massive shame in my book.

The Cappucino Kid. A living tribute.
Scotland. Bithplace of some of the greatest football managers of all time. Bill Shankly. Matt Busby. Jock Stein. Alex Ferguson. Stuart McCall. Today we add another name to that list: The Cappuccino Kid. Never has one man taken a team a rag tag misfits, and shaped and crafted them in to a team of world beaters. His team's beautiful football style has earned praise from some of the biggest names in the modern game. His playing career was cut short after a freak accident when a shelf full of Doshin The Giant video games fell on his big toe, and a career in management was born. A decade later, he's won every trophy his team has competed for, and remained undefeated in that entire time. Can anyone stop the Mastermind of Modern Football?
(I won 7-0)

I'll give an update. Freescoring fellas barely muster up a goal between them.
For the second time this season it was a top of the table clash between Smurf and Jas which promised goals galore and like Postman Pat in the first 15 minutes of his show, failed to deliver.
After a number of delays the two got underway and it was fairly even for the first minute with both teams reduced to snapshots that rarely troubled the keepers. A minute in and we had the game's only goal through Waluigi who continued his heroics with a scrappy finish, sliding on to a loose rebound and putting it in the bottom corner.
The Comets held their nerve for the rest of the match despite the Cyclones multiple attempts at a hyper strike, giving Smurf the win.

.....and with that I can say I don't really like how the rebound system works in this game as it just doesn't feel good either when you do it or when it happens against you. (it's not even intentional most of the time either)
It was a close match though and it always seemed like a scrappy finish would settle it.

I think I had a run of games where almost every goal I scored and conceded was that type of goal and it just isn't satisfying, I know you've gotta have that kind of thing in football, it just feels easy to exploit. Give me loads of top corner screamers any day, it's not a realistic game anyway, might as well lean in to that.

Luke is back in the UK for a spell right now, so we decided that I'd deliver him an ass whooping in person - or at the very least, when he has access to WiFi that isn't a hostel.

I thought maybe lean into the items popping up a bit more? They are usually a good equaliser & are often needed to even create space for a hyper shot.

Shy guy was on it from the word go as he found space early in the game for Dusty's Cyclones on two separate occasions & produced some very tidy finishes to take what looked to be a comfy 2 nil lead, but Jas' Charms reorganised quickly and heavily marked him out the game knowing how dangerous he can be. Peach then produced a hyper strike to tie it up halfway into the match even though a red shell was a midges bawhair away from hitting her, with the momentum clearly swung in the Charm's favour some nice one two's allowed them to produce a third & fourth goal which sealed the comeback and victory.
Rumour has it Dusty was in the tunnel afterwards screaming.....

Lady luck spares forum from a muted Masofdas winners post
It was slated as a game where those on the outside looking in couldn't lose, either Mas would take the win and with it, points away from Smurf or the juggernaut would stay on top and prevent a one line winners post. It was a one liner which looked the most likely when Mas powered ahead after 4 seconds. Smurf and his Bolts didn't take long to reply however when Captain Toad hit a hyper strike to turn the tables and make it 2-1 in their favour.
Both teams jostled for position with the Warriors having the better of the chances and making the most of them with an equaliser midway through the match to make it 2-2. The search for a winner went on, Smurf attempted another strike that was expertly stopped however the team's persistence paid off when Luigi readied a Hyper Strike, it looked as if Peach was going to stop it after sidestepping a shell but in the end she was mere inches away leading to another 2 point goal that would prove to be the winner.
There was certainly an air of luck to the win but those are the kind of results that win titles and are the difference between a short celebration and a multi-paragraph piece of self indulgence.

Right folks, I'm also guilty of this, but can we please get the last weeks matches complete. I'll post the final weeks line up on Monday if we can try and get all games resolved by then. Thanks!

I'd share a bath with Fergie. Do I mean her from the Black Eyed Peas or do I mean Sir Alex Ferguson? That's for you to decide, dear reader.

Muss beat me 2-1 on a bench outside a restaurant in which I then bullied him into eating Mac and Cheese. Me and Cappa will get to it when we get to it, get off my back, YOU'RE NOT MY REAL DAD.

Hello everybody. Here are the screenshots from me past couple of games.
Mac n Cheese hits the spot
A light rain poured upon the mighty city of Wells as a local derby ensued between Muss Athletic and Buskalilly's Magicians. Armed with an OLED screen that actually allowed him to see the footballers, Buskalilly played a canny game but wasn't quite able to come up with the result.
It was a rather scrappy game, and that was reflected in the tight scoreline, with neither side producing many quality chances. Each side's Rosalina put away some powerful efforts, but it was Bowser eating up space in the middle of the park which ended up being the difference between the two sides.
Buskalilly had a chance to put away a Hyper Strike but was unexpectedly denied by the goal keeper. Buskalilly got the penultimate laugh though, forcing Muss into a post game mac n cheese. (Muss got the last laugh though because it was well good).
Andyman94whine
In the other fixture, Muss actually turned his typical high possession into a goal fest, putting five past Andy. Andy, who had started banging in goals recently after switching to handheld, fancied his chances but the finishing on the other side of the park was too clinical. Still an exciting game though, with 7 goals all coming from open play rather than hyper strikes. A far cry from the first encounter between the pair, which ended in an overtime 1-0 victory to Andy which I'm definitely still not bitter about.
