I just heard The Bit Block and GameXplain on YouTube mention the rumour of MK8 dlc including Nabbit being a new character. I hope it's true(I'm not bothered about Nabbit, though).

Character DLC could be cool.

My main racer will no doubt be Luigi, in this, the year after the year of Luigi.

Can't remember what I've said in the past on the subject, but I now don't think we'll get any downloadable characters or tracks. Think we would have been told about them by now.

See if Nintendo are starting to DLC more and more this seem the best title apart from smash to it though.

I think there could be DLC yet; after all, we didn't know about Pikmin 3's DLC until well after the release. So I'm still hopeful. Even if the tracks aren't 10/10s, it'd still be more variety that could be introduced e.g. a year from now. It's a money-printer.

A lot of people seem to have got the game already. I, however, am still waiting for the Nintendo UK Webstore (AKA The Hut) to dispatch.

I saw plenty of people playing it last night. Had an email to say mine is out with Yodel, so fingers crossed for tomorrow.

I'm picking it up tomorrow from GAME.  It's okay, I'll catch up!

Meanwhile, the Japanese are getting a Mercedes as free DLC.  Yes it does look massively out of place. (The Mercedes advert with Mario in is hilarious though.)

Hopefully mine arrives today. (in a few hours)

Gaming News Thread Page 1 first post, I knew.

I'm also picking mine up from GAME tomorrow on the way to work, I know Ibbster from Twitter has had his since yesterday morning and a few people on Facebook thanks to ASDA Direct. I did ring the place where I got Pokemon Y early but they did have MK8 in at the time, but would people early if they had it though.

Sorry, I didn't see the pervious post. That least this proves MK8 has been developed to host DLC. I'm not sure I welcome product placement in Nintendo games. At least RL golfing equipment in Mario golf sort of made sense.

That Mercedes thing is so insane. Not sure what to think really. I love the Goomba in the commercial.

I'm not fussed about the product placement if it's optional, rather minor DLC.  Rather that than pop-up adverts in-game, or Richard Branson in Smash Bros.  Anyway, I don't think I'd download this if it came out in the west, because like you say it makes no sense in context: hopefully we'll get some more palatable DLC soon.

To be fair, the opportunity to smite his smug, beardy face in various Nintendo-themed ways appeals to me heavily.

On a completely different note, I was playing Super Circuit earlier and am kind of disappointed that the only GBA course they rejigged was the ultra-bland Mario Circuit, rather than, say, Broken Pier. They made the N64 Rainbow Road look like it will actually be fun, though, and I'm really excited that Yoshi Valley and Tick Tock Clock are back.

Thought you would of had it early, as I'm gathering your getting it form insane.

Didn't get a chance to buy it all day. Worked until 3AM last night, woke up 20 minutes before I started at 10 this morning and didn't get a chance to go before I finished at 7.

This is old news, but I don't see anyone mention it here yet. (I was distracted due to The Mercedes.)

Seems to work well!

I was playing this pretty much all day (9+ hours) and its just spectacular stuff, already had some amazing moments and it will just get better & better the more I get torn into it. (single player & online)

I'm quite fond of the Mario circuit tracks as they are generally about racing a perfect line, the fact the big hairpin bend has been raised with anti gravity makes it more exciting as well.

Yeah, they're not bad but it's just a shame that out of all the tracks they could have chosen, they only chose that one, without a second to accompany it. It's nice that they made that bend anti-grav though.
