| There's always a few weird choices for retro tracks when it comes to Mario Kart can't say that I agree that that is one of them though. |

Such a SMK fan thing to say. Really not what Mario Kart is about for me. The hairpin is good though - I like what they did with the Mario Circuits, although they're not Toad's Turnpike levels of brilliant. But then, few things are. |

| Because of that attitude. I wants don't get.
First on every cup on 50cc. Debating whether to jump straight into 150 and skip 100. Also trying to decide how early I can leave my parents house next week to come home and spend my time off work playing videogame instead of seeing family. |

| Yeah I'm sure I'll play through every little drop of the game really. Despite already having every character I, or anyone else I know, am ever likely to use. |

| Last one I unlocked was Roy about 5 minutes ago. It insisted on keeping Iggy from me for some reason. I unlocked him before Roy. |

| Sorry to hear that SMM, nothing worse than a game you're excited for not arriving (I had the same with Watch_Dogs on tuesday).
I'm really enjoying MK8 so far, the new tracks are all brilliant and the only really naff retro one is Toads Turnpike. Only problem is trying to find a character/kart/wheel combo I actually like. The customisation gives me too much choice and I can't simply work through them all to work out what works for me. |

| I've been trying out a bit of everything so far. Got to use all the characters, to get them stamps; and then I've been varying up my car parts nicely. Current findings: the Sports Bike turns with the grace and ease of a charging rhinoceros. |

| That's what I've been doing but I'm no closer to forming any opinions other than the Sports Bike is horrific. |

| Guy's you don't need to do 50cc or 100cc, doing 150cc unlocks the stars with them and characters unlocks are random as well balla. |

| I normally do that,
Also Mario Kart 8 seems to be doing what 7 did for the 3DS. As it's been trending on twitter, along with Wii U etc but I saw a good tweet from someone I follow who works in GAME Norwich (I think) who has been there since Christmas, so about almost 6 months. In that time he thinks they sold about 4 Wii U's, Yes 4 in 6 Month's. Yesterday they sold 6 Wii U's, that's one more then GAME Taunton did on the Wii U's launch day of course that could be 6 used Wii U's. So no money for Nintendo but still might help if people are talking about it in a positive way. |

| I'm loving this so far even though I'm pretty terrible at it I really hate that Battle Mode has tracks instead if arenas though Battle Mode has grown on me a bit the more I've played it but it's never going to be anywhere near as fun as it was in previous games. |

| The battle mode is a crying shame. It joins the character roster, randomised unlocks, and Grumble Volcano in my list of minor disappointments. Otherwise, it's so good. Especially Cloudtop Cruise. I hear what you did there, Nintendo. Also, had my first game of local multiplayer today, with a chap who likes videogames and his girlfriend who doesn't. The start of each race chugs a bit, but after that you won't notice much. And it is incredible how much the girlfriend cared about the results by the end. |

| I've been thoroughly enjoying this still but the online systems little quirks really are starting to grate. Why can't I change my damn character/kart when I'm already in the lobby. I don't want to quit out after every race and risk people thinking we're all leaving/the game starting without me because I fancy a change.
What's everyone's set up at the moment? I'm flicking between Lemmy in the Mach 8 with slick wheels and DK with the airship and slick wheels. |

| My set up is usually Lakitu with either the steel driver/Mach 8 or that bug kart I've forgotten the name of but I always use the slim wheels. |

| Still haven't fixed on one. I don't know if it's just the case in the Grand Prixes, but the heavy characters seem to get a better deal in this game than usual: top speed seems to make more of a difference.
Also, Brawl in the Family delivers again. |
