We'll see your ineptitude anyway, don't worry about that Just need an agreement on if/how we're going to work a tournament. |

| I won't be playing a tournament. I'll just do random races. I honestly don't care how good/bad I do. |

| Don't be scared off by the tournament set-up, we're just test running it tonight, if we hate how it works, we won't continue to use it. |

| I've got a horrible suspicion that it's my Internet that's the source of my connection problems (I know, who'da thought?). I'm keen on trying another couple of games, just to test - is it harming anyone else? |

| I'm still getting used to a lot of these tracks. Its not really due to the competitive side its just I have no idea how good I am or how good you guys are.
My battery ran out half an hour ago so I'll play again tomorrow. |

| Hooray, the connection held up! I read somewhere else that it's affecting lots of people, and only in races with friends. That matches my own experience: the few races I did against randomers went off without a hitch. But the randomers were really really bad. I imagine they're better globally, especially the Japanese!
I do think that unless there's a more-or-less full field of racers, it's too easy to stay in first. Hooray for rewarding good driving, I guess, but it lacks the frenetic "anyone-can-win"-ness of previous entries: especially when we're all more or less as good as each other, so whoever gets first in the first few minutes stays there.
Anyway, I'll be up for more on other evenings, I suspect. The trouble with the tournament, though, is that it doesn't allow voice chat in the lobby. Are you lot chatting away on Sky-pee? |

| We certainly were and you're more than welcome to join us. The others believed that actual friend lobbies are more stable than the tournaments so it might be worth trying that next time (plus you can back out and change driver more easily). Good fun though! |

We should really put that theory to the test soon, could've just been a bad night for disconnections. |

| So, it seems MK8 did well in the UK. I always thought that MK8 had the best chance of turning the Wii U situation around, so this is positive. Lets hope it holds. - Quote :
- Mario Kart 8, meanwhile, turned up comfortably in second place [behind Watch Dogs]. Nintendo's racer earned the company its biggest Wii U game launch in the UK to date, and the second best launch for a Mario Kart title ever in the UK.
Wii U console sales skyrocketed by a devilish 666 per cent this week, of which 82 per cent were the Wii U Mario Kart 8 bundle. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-06-02-watch-dogs-is-the-biggest-new-ip-launch-in-the-uk-ever |

| Some good, competitive races last night, but the current tournament set-up isn't great: we're picking up points that don't really mean anything, other than to show that we've played a lot of races. Not sure what conditions everyone wants to race under from now on, whether we set-up a tournament with a limited number of races where points can be picked up, or just play in a normal lobby (which is better for a number of reasons: more track choice freedom, breaks between races to change vehicle/driver). |

| The more I play this, the more it further cements my feeling that this is the best MK yet. I've had quite a few tight races in the wee hours of the morning from folk across the pond, and I'm glad to say there's no noticeable slowdown on it.
As a plus, those figures on Eurogamer are nothing short of staggering. I'm seriously hoping that this will start the turn around for Wii U. |
