I didn't get on till a lot later. Did half an hour of single player, then went online about 21:00. Looked at Dusty's set up about 22:30.

People were still on at 2100 - that's when I gave up on my connection.

@Mas nah, I've tried playing Mario Kart with my parents but they couldn't get their heads round it. Plus they are super into board games and just got a load of new ones.

This has managed to be one of those games I really can't wait to get home and play, it's been a while since I've played one of those.

About to head online for some races if anyone wants to join.

Finished all the cups (on 50cc) last night. Cautiously, I like it. Given that I'm crazy about relatively few of the previous seven Mario Kart titles, I'm reet keen to play this on-line with y'all! Sadly it'll be the last Sunday of the month... 

From what I've been hearing I'm kinda scared to do 150cc

Just to let you know, doing a cup on 150cc seems to give you the relative medal on both 100cc and 50cc for the same cup. Nice if you don't fancy trawling through the lower speed races.

My chances to access the Wii U have been somewhat limited, but the ten hours I have managed to play in this past week have been absolutely brilliant. It's getting worryingly close to being my favourite Mario Kart already.

I've recently finished off all the 100CC cups, tried out all the modes in single player and made my first foray onto the online races. My only criticisms - very minor ones - are that the Mario Kart 8 Rainbow Road isn't all that brilliant, and that the Battle Mode really is as mince as everyone's been saying. It's unthinkable to me that Nintendo aren't looking to sort that out with some additional downloadable content that's more identifiable with the Mario Kart Battle arenas of old. Otherwise, I'm agreeing with what everyone else is saying - it's a genuinely great game.

I've played Battle Mode a few times online and I won every time but is a bit muh.

Yeah be up for online if someone posts a time or sends out a tweet. I don't mind playing with some randomers like the other night with you Cappa and Ibbster from twitter as it's quite fun with 12 people online.

I'm up for racing tonight. I had a few good midweek online races, like how you can join a friends game from the online menu. Battle mode is really bad it really needs its own unique arenas.

I'd be contented to do 10pm onwards, but if everyone's wanting a little bit earlier then I might be flexible.

If you host then yes, only your friends would be able to join.

I thought that was one of the reasons for tournaments? If they don't have the code then they can't get into the races.

Is this happening? Or has it happened?
