| The new tracks are all awesome (which actually makes me think, given how Crossing-y the Animal Crossing track is, that the Zelda one was mega-disappointing in retrospect). The detail in the periphery seems to be a lot more concentrated; here, we've spent 10 minute goes pootling round looking at stuff; especially in the Super Bell Subway level. And you know what? It makes me want to be able to get out of the kart and Walking Simulator my way round the extended Mario Kart universe. 200cc is an acquired taste, admittedly, but, let's face it, we're just not used to letting go of the accelerator! |

| I've felt that about a couple of courses in Smash Bros. (the lush jungle in the background of Kongo Jungle springs to mind), but you're right that it would be good in MK8 too. |

You see I don't think you have to brake all that much as I found it's more about adjusting when to start your drift and that's what I think is tripping up most people because you have to do it a lot earlier than what you're used to. For example there's a hairpin bend on Koopa city that I thought you had to brake on but it's still possible to drift it. |

| Sorry, this is a completely random offshoot, possibly not even for this topic, but... do you what'd be a good DLC game mode?
The Fun Kart Grand Prix from Fun House. There are tokens round the track, and the "grab" button has to be pressed really close to them or you don't pick them up. Therefore you either have to risk timing perfectly or slow down. A points system kicks in at the end of the race which is a combination of your finishing position and the number of tokens you picked up.
Sorry about that, I had to tell someone! |

| The new tracks really are amazing, especially Ribbon Road and Big Blue. I've been spending a lot of time on the latter perfecting my PB. Out of all of the new ones, I can't really say any are stinkers, although Cheese Land doesn't (to me at least) seem to be authentic to the original. |

How about a battle mode that's not gash? |

| I still want a Mission Mode, myself!
Also, with apologies to Jimbob, a mode based on a gameshow sounds a bit too "Danica Patrick in Mario Kart" for me. |

| Update 4.1 is available for Mario Kart and it automatically unlocks the 200cc Cup. Excellent news. Now I get to try it out, because I have barely touched the 150cc Cup and would probably have never opened 200cc.
Also, what is with all of the complaining that 200cc is too hard? Gamers are never satisfied. I thought gamers loved a challenge and really love a tough mode. This seems perfect, as it really gives players that challenge. |

| Only had a quick go but love the new courses and the Animal Crossing are so perfect for the game, once again showing that series charm (Dry Bowser can sod off). An E3 announcement of more to come will have me all |

| I'm not usually one to believe rumours; however, either Nintendo UK is playing the silliest of silly buggers, or there's something MK8-rel8ed on the horizon. New DLC, announced during E3? Dare to dream? |

| Hmmmmmmmmm... I'm pretty sure that's just a thing about E3 in general, and they happened to use that Mario Kart 64 as an analogy.
I'd love to be wrong though! |

| Sod it, after scanning their Twitterboard (does it have a proper name?) they've done a similar one with WW with the word "feels". The appearance of Kali Desert suggests otherwise, but I reckon it's probably a muck-up. |

It is pretty good DLC but best ever really especially when you got the likes of Left Behind and the Mass Effect 3 fan service piece . |

| Cappa was right, it is the best DLC ever.
Both the ones you mention are great, but felt a little awkwardly added to what was a solidly finished game. The same kinda goes for Dark Souls' excellent Artorias of the Abyss.
Mario Kart 8,on the other hand, felt like an amazing gift at the time and now feels like it was always part of the game. That's a pretty perfect result for a DLC, I'd say. |

| It's a type of DLC really as it's just tracks and more drivers, which is always great and will feel part of the game more so then a bit of story DLC which only long time players of Mass Effect would get.
But I'm not a big racing fan and more of a fan of story stuff which some I mention do a great job of adding to the experience.
Thinking about it it's like comparing apple and oranges it's all DLC but due to the difference in genre makes a big deal.
Maybe if Mario Tennis actually had some DLC that would have been a better comparison. |
