| Mario, SEX ACT? That's a Happy Meal I can believe in!
Do you have this one yet, Mr Gnamer most likely to be over the legal limit at any given time? |

| I do, and people calling it "wanking" have a weird idea. Maybe he could be giving a hand job to somebody stood adjacent to him? Whatever, its dumb and even I didn't think he was making a wank motion until I saw it on twitter. |

| Nah, it's the British tabloid press! An integral part of our great country. Twerps. |

No but seriously you're right, although I should point out me and drunka joke about that stupid term, and stupid people who use that term all the time.
It's just a clickbait type story about a silly man whose kids I feel sorry for. |

| Apparently it wasn't only a stupid story, but an outright lie. Drunka made a very good post about PC gaming somewhere. Most chucklesome. |

| The extent to which the papers are able to make up outright lies on the front page then print tiny retractions on page 2 a week later is ridiculous. I really do hate the British press...

| Not much sums it up better than the Leverson Enquiry to be honest. We have undisputable evidence that the press, some more than others, have as you say been lying, and worse still, insidiously harming the lives of private individuals.
And yet, even in the face of this, the press still don't want to accept any form of regulation, and we're waiting for legal matters to progress before anything actually happens. Even then, the media moguls will get away scott free. I get that arrests of a few bad apples have been made, but we're still waiting for our news culture at large to be sorted out, and I'm not innocent enough to believe that an the enquiry will solve much of anything ultiamtely.
This, this is actually about ethics in journalism. |

| The sad thing about the situation is the papers are simply reflecting general social norms, or rather pandering to them. The media certainly plays its part, but I believe they're just playing on on social desires. It takes two, and they know their market and what their market wants to hear about. |

| Today is a day to rejoice, as the world is apparently not ending! This was the first I heard of this rumour, but it's nice to know we're officially not headed for the apocalypse! I do have to wonder though, what if there was a meteor headed for a direct impact here? Surely the space researches are developing defence procedures, right? For all the talk of climate change I've always felt this was a under-invested subject, humanity will learn to adapt to climate change even if they fail to avoid the two degree barrier, not so if a giant piece of space junk smashes in to the planet and destroys any and every piece of technology we have. Oh lord this was just too funny to ignore, the ABC really hates treasurer Hockey and they aren't even trying to hide it! - Spoiler:
To be fair he has been as stupid and unfair a treasurer as the image makes him look, but still. |

Hahahaha, nope! We're woefully unprepared to even detect asteroids, let alone destroy or deflect them. NASA and other space bodies have been begging for funding for decades but its so hypothetical a threat, nobody is willing to pony up the pennies. |

I guess governments won't do anything short of a city getting wiped off the face of the planet, and even then probably only if it's in one of the developed nations. |

| Ah, you can't worry about those things, Arthrun; just assume that it's going to be a big asteroid and it'll wipe us out in one big go, so no-one will have to worry about it afterwards.
Speaking of big wipes: I know this is old news, but this is actually a cliché bad guy thing from TV - it would be funny if I wasn't so angry. |

| So another shooting in America, because it had been nearly a week, then the Sun newspaper decides they're going to run tomorrow with a front page showing a screenshot from the video the killer took of the exact moment he shot an innocent woman. I'm glad I'm not at work tomorrow, because I really would not want to be part of selling that even for toilet paper. Fuck the fuckers. |
