| XY's Plusle/Minun/Pachirisu/Emolga clone, rather. Electric rodent that can't evolve, or indeed do anything else. Also: part fairy-type. |

A question we all ask ourselves from time to time. |

| I don't. The only question I ask myself as regular basis , is: "oh Lord, why have you cursed be with such a big dick?" And "Why did pokemon keep going the "mythology creature" route when Mewtwo was a brilliant character with a totally modern sci-fi origin." "Who likes big butts?" |

| Anyway... They look like a stage feature for Gerudo Valley. I am really looking forward to a remix of the Gerudo Valley theme. Hopefully not far too slow like on the 25th Anniversary CD either. |

| I'll just take their inclusion, to be honest. Anything else is a bonus. Beggars can't be choosers. Anyway, to add to my rota of weekly things, and to minimise my multiple postings, I'm going to start doing Balla's Smash Weekly Round-Up to cover the minor points. I did Monday separately this week, but in future they'll all be reported on Friday. The big news for the week is under the Friday spoiler, as it probably will be most weeks. - Tuesday (Returning Item):
Flipper's out, bumper's in.
- Wednesday (Kind Dedede):
Dedede's Jet Hammer. Still hurts to charge, still likely to be useless in an actual fight. Nice trim on his robe, though.
- Thursday (Little Mac):
Directional side-smash, just to add a little more subtlety to someone who already seems like he'll be jolly tactical.
- Friday (New Stage):
Not bad, eh? I'm hoping that you get ribbon eels jumping from the water and knocking you around, but I'm guessing that it's more likely to be quite a placid pretty stage.

| The website doesn't load properly. That happens for a few sites, though - GoodReads and the Edinburgh Book Festival being two I remember off the top of my head - and it's something to do with my AdBlock addon for Firefox. So maybe that's why your images don't load. |

| Yes, I'd advise adding Miiverse and the things it uses to your whitelist. I don't think it has any adverts anyway. |

| You want another? Then another you shall have! Shanks stole a little bit of my thunder (because Lumiose City, geddit?), but only with Balladeer's Weekly Smash Round-Up do you also get screenshots and ragging on the Vita! - Monday (Trophy):
Sakurai taunts us about the unavailability of Captain Rainbow in the West.
- Tuesday (New Stage):
As Shanks mentioned above, Lumiose City makes its appearance, and it's pretty impressive-looking. SSB4 really putting the 3DS through its paces here - Vita who? According to Sakurai, "Up until a few seconds ago, the fighters were brawling on top of that tower." Delfino Plaza-alike, then? I'm okay with that, but it's still not fighting on Rayquaza's back, is it?
- Wednesday (Zelda):
Apparently this is Din's Fire? Not that I could really tell. Anyway, Sakurai's been at the balancing again: it's stronger "in its core", but "you need to hit foes with the core if you want to make them fall." Cue more bastards online spamming it from a distance.
- Thursday (Returning Item):
The Motion Sensor Bomb is spikier and purplier than before. Move along, nothing more to see here (apart from how DK's mouth still looks a bit polygonal).
- Friday (New Stage?):
Is this a stage? A one-player arena? A diorama mode? Let's ask Sakurai: "Looks like someone's enjoying the bachelor life in this pad." EDIT: Apparently it's Tomodachi Collection-inspired. Probably another new stage, then - the 3DS version has had three in two weeks!
Also I should probably mention that last Friday's Tortimer Island stage has several different island layouts, and features different background characters too. |

| They're really cramming in the games we'll never get to play, aren't they? Looking amazing, anyway. And living balla's round ups. Better than I can find on any news site.
Also, absolutely no memory of that post above. Wow. Can't believe you guys tolerate me... |

| So, Kojima wants Snake in Smash.
http://www.officialnintendomagazine.co.uk/57359/hideo-kojima-wants-to-see-snake-return-to-smash-bros/
Personally, I hope he doesn't appear. Snake doesn't really seem to fit Smash. And there's my (admittedly fanboy-ish) reasons too... I don't see why Sakurai should waste a space to promote Kojima's games, when Kojima avoids Nintendo platforms like the plague. |

| Agreed there. See my comment in the linked article. I loved playing as Snake in Brawl, because he was a very unique and powerful character, but he really doesn't belong in Smash. |

| I'm a big metal gear fan and loved snake in brawl so I'd be happy to see snake return. All your points are pretty on the money but I think the fact that he doesn't fit into smash Bros. is the reason he fits in so well. |

Yeah, I replied. I'm MD-1500 (with a hyphen to make it even more confusing) on there. |

| So you did! I must admit, I don't usually pay much attention to ONM's threads once I've posted in 'em - most of the people posting there are either just plain stupid (that Rocco chap seems to actually believe what he's saying...), or think completely differently to me. Like Buska! The "bang-on" reasons I think Snake shouldn't be in the game are the reasons you think he should be? I'm not saying that your viewpoint is wrong, but I don't think I'll understand it if I try, old chap. (Apart from being a big fan of MGS, which is fair enough but seems incidental: I'm a big fan of NMH, but I don't think Travis Touchdown should be allowed anywhere near Smash!) Maybe Sakurai should agree with Kojima that Snake will only be in SSB5 if there's an all-new good Metal Gear game on Nintendo platforms to take his stage from? |

Basically, that's the only way I'd be happy at a Snake Smash inclusion. |

| Same I do like MGS a lot but to me he doesn't fit as MGS doesn't have that much history on Nintendo platforms,
Metal Gear NES which is a port of a MSX game Snakes Revenge NES which is a port of a MSX game Metal Gear Solid Gameboy Colour Twin Snakes GameCube which is a remake of a PS1 game Snake Eater 3D 3DS which is a remake of a PS2 game
Compared to the series on Sony systems, If there was a Twin Snakes type version of 4 on the Wii U then maybe to help promote the game.

For me, a lot of the fun of smash bros is when you throw together characters who have no business being together; watching snake fight a gorilla in a tie, a psychic ten-year-old and princess peach is brilliant. - Quote :

I would love to see a metal gear game on Wii U but I think can be forgiven more than, say, EA with mass effect. A lot of effort went into Twin Snakes on cube and Snake Eater on 3DS but they sold in awful numbers. Wii U is definitely a second console at this point, so people with smash bros are likely to play and enjoy metal gear on something else, plus as mas says it does have more history on Nintendo than some games. There was a Nintendo metal gear more recently than a new f zero... |

| I thought that Mas was saying the opposite? Or perhaps he was being sarcastic. As for characters belonging together, for me they need - sorry, I'd prefer them to have at least some sort of link, i.e. that they should be Nintendo characters. Or characters closely related to Nintendo in a pinch. But that's just me! I'm surprised Athrun hasn't come to weigh in yet with his hate for all things third-party. Or perhaps he just frequents three threads in Off-Topic now. |
