Is anyone expecting a Valentines-related announcement in the Direct? As in Diddy and Dixie Kong getting announced.

With things going the way they are, I'm expecting just a Diddy announcement.  Just that.  He'll be exactly the same as he was in Brawl, and Nintendo will reveal it like it's a big thing.

Am I not a little bundle of :cherry: and :idea: ?

I read elsewhere that this month marks the 30th anniversary since PunchOut first arrived. Little Mac now in Smash makes sense.

When I first saw on the side bar who the new character was I wasn't exactly hyped since I've never played any punch out, but after seeing that trailer all I can say is let me at im! He looks insanely fun to play as.

Yes! After a series of slightly damp character reveals, now we're talking.   

Great choice of character & I was smiling like a loon in his intro trailer, looks to be a fighter for the smash experts.

Let's be honest, Little Mac should always have been in Smash Bros.  A warm welcome to proceedings, Mr. Mac!

I don't understand why so many people are complaining about this chap!  New character, new franchise, and he looks fun too!  I just hope that plenty of those Doc Louis snippets make it into the game.

(Here's the trailer again.  I could watch that over and over again.  Turning the outlines right up when I play as this guy on the 3DS!)

Yesterday's Miiverse update talked about how Mac will be much weaker in the air.  For those who were worrying about how powerful he looked, Sakurai seems to have taken this into account.  Today, though:

It "can even heal fighters who have accumulated over 100% damage", according to Sakurai.  So the Heart Container has been one-upped, then?  I'm also assuming that the shot is a none-too-subtle reference to SM3DW.

Because Tropical Freeze.  Looks exactly the same as in Brawl, but apparently he's got more range on his attacks.

Gameplay mechanic change! "Now consecutive standard attacks will always transition into a finishing move. This is Fox's finishing kick after his standard combo attack."
