- Fronk you must of been playing a different Wii U then me as Nintendo published at retail 14 games year one on the U and I would only say about 5 were of real quality and one of those was a HD remake & a other being a DLC game thing.
This year okay we've had 8 games from them but I would say out of them 7 have all been of decent quality and if we go by the rumours Hyrule Warriors started of the whole one game month thing which should continue into 2015 (yes December has nothing but SMASH did come out the end and Sonic at the start of November), I would sooner have the 8 games from Nov 2013 - Nov 14 then Nov 12 - 13 and go for a more quality 8 then 14 that includes rubbish.
On Indies/Downloads Year 2 the U has had 59 games and a few more if you want to count F1 & Falling Skies etc okay quite a bit are on other systems but you can't say it's not had anything but is missing a big indie console exclusive.
Hm, I only really remember Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta, Smash and Hyrule Warriors. And not all of those will be for everyone. Maybe I'm just sour that Xenoblade X and Yarn Yoshi turned out to be 2015. |

| They can't please everyone fronk, like next year Andy reckons they've not anything that good why we know they've got according to there financials but to me it's a great line up with Toad, Yoshi, Splat, Xeno etc.
But here's the games and after double checking year 1 only had 3 more games from Nintendo then in year two.
Nintendo's 13 (my mistake) games in year one New Super Mario Bros. U meta 84 Nintendo Land meta 77 Sing Party meta 60 Lego City Undercover meta 80 Game & Wario meta 61 New Super Luigi U meta 77 Pikmin 3 meta 87 The Wonderful 101 meta 78 The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD meta 90 Sonic Lost World meta 63 Wii Party U meta 65 Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games meta 55 Super Mario 3D World meta 93 Average meta score for year one is 74.62
Nintendo's 10 (my mistake) games in year two Scribblenauts Unlimited meta 73 Wii Fit U meta 72 Wii Sports Club meta 68 Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze meta 83 Mario Kart 8 meta 88 Hyrule Warriors meta 75 Bayonetta meta 86 Bayonetta 2 meta 91 Sonic Boom meta 31 Super Smash Bros. for Wii U meta 92 Average meta score for year two is 75.90

| Today in the EU & AUS, two years ago the Wii U was released.
I can't believe, I've owned it for two years & my PS4 for a year doesn't time fly. I've said else where on this thread & my opinion piece what I think off the U over these last two years. |

| This is the rumoured release line up for the U in the states also been rumours of a animal crossing coming for the U.
February: Kirby March:Mario Party April: Xenoblade May: Splatoon June:Mario Maker July: Project Robot/Project Guard & Mario Vs DK August: Starfox September: Yoshi's Wooly World October Devil's Third November: Zelda
It looks a plausible list apart from maybe April for Xeno |

| I'd question your year on year Wii U comparison: I moved 2012 to the side in mine, and Metacritic doesn't lend well for comparing across games, let alone compiling them. |

| I was going by it's birthday and I used Meta as I couldn't think how you can say the consoles first year is better or worse then the second. Also if you do look at a calender year & scrap what came out in 2012 then 2013 looks worse even more.

| Source for the release list? Some randomer off Neogaf, I'm guessing. XCX out in April Stateside isn't even the most suspicious thing about that: aren't the "Projects" meant to be part of StarFox U? |

| Nope separate games set in the universe or something like that as they were down as individual games on financials along with star fox.
It is Axis's fav thing Neogaf but thought it was worth posting. |

I definitely think 2013 was a better year than 2014, and I don't think it's right to count the physical releases of Wii Sports Club or Wii Fit U as later software since the best half of the former was released in 2013 and the latter was released digitally at the end of 2013. |

| yeah counting the retail games of those was a bit cheeky but I think were going to have to agree to disagree as I much prefer 2014 calender line up mainly due to Bayo 2. |

| Yeah, Bayonetta 2, MK8 and Smash U are amazing games (Mario Kart 8 is my personal game of the year), it's just that Wii U got more support last year generally speaking. |

It is Axis's fav thing Neogaf but thought it was worth posting. I did not know about them being individual games. Times like this made me wish we had a separate serious rumours thread. |

| I've always thought they were part of Star Fox U, and Miyamoto himself has all but confirmed it, saying something along the lines of how Star Fox U will be a bit like a Saturday Morning Cartoon in that it'll have a structure which will accommodate Guard/Giant Robot's stage based structure in addition to Star Fox's. |

| Well there down as there own games on Nintendo own financials, it doesn't mean they don't become star fox or one game or something else.
But at the moment if I was a investor in Nintendo I'm thinking I'm getting these three games on the U not one. |

| New Wii U Gampad?
Stop this video around the 8 second mark, as you see it's a offical ad in Japan.
Also the biggest website in France for gaming them and there readers voted Wii U best system and the Top 3 games on 2014 all Wii U games. Bet you can all guess which three.
And the Wii U had it's best week since launch some time this past November thanks to SMASH but was only 10% up on last year.
Ohh Earthbound rumours |

| Happy to take that Earthbound rumour - it's something I feel should have happened a while ago now. And a new Wii U GamePad at this stage is a daft idea. |

| Maybe they introduce second gamepad and they bring out a new for us to buy as the second but don't change the one in the box. |

| I seen this "new" gamepad business yesterday and I really don't think it's a new one but rather a matter of the camera angles perspective playing a trick on the eyes, it makes no sense as well. (the person holding it has the pad tilted forward at an angle as you can see the charge port on the bottom)
Why would they ever put a redesigned device in an advert that was for another product? Also I don't think the gamepad even needs a redesign as it isn't clunky/heavy or a pain to use in any way.
(side note: stop the same video about 2 - 3 seconds in and you will see the standard gamepad)
EDIT: That's the end of that then. http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2014/12/sorry_to_disappoint_but_that_new_gamepad_mario_kart_8_commercial_is_pretty_old

| Miyamoto says that the next home-console Mario may be released on the Wii U's successor.
This makes me sad, because we've only had one 3D Mario on the Wii U, and it wasn't a "proper" 3D Mario: more like a 2.5D Mario, 2D Mario conventions in a 3D world. On the other hand, if they held back the next one for the launch of the new console, that would guarantee a killer app. on launch, avoiding the pain that they suffered with the Wii U's launch line-up. So, mixed emotions. |

| Depends how far off the next console is you would hope 2 years time at least but the team can only make so much Mario that unlikely they can put one out on Wii U then on the next one in the space of two years. Unless the next system game is a sequel to the Wii U's or the Wii U's in Galxy 3 and they can build on what they had with SMG1&2, so it gives more time on the 9th gen systems launch game. |

| I honestly wouldn't mind if it doesn't come out until the next consoles release, as long as we continue to see fresh ideas like splatoon popping out of Nintendo's doors. |

| A bit of a random thought on that, if the Wii U isn't getting another core Mario and looking at next year's game just from the financial report there's not much room for much more. And if Nintendo are now looking at it's 9th gen system let's say 2 years off and launching with a proper 3d Mario, will the Wii U see likes of paper mario, mario golf instead and will get it at least 3 mario party's or will there just be 1 of them.
Also is a proper 3D Mario a Killer App, as to me and most Kart & SMASH are the killer apps and they've not really pushed Wii U's. So why would a 3D Mario push Nintendo's 9th gen system. |

| I think that a 3D Mario would be more of a killer app. among the gaming public rather than Smash, which is a killer app. to the more general gaming public (especially in Japan) as well. It wouldn't impact sales as much, but it might cause a few more people to become early adopters. |

| In my opinion, 3D Mario is a killer app to Nintendo's long-term fans. Launching a home console with a 3D Mario game would tempt that Nintendo hardcore into buying more than the 2D Mario the Wii U launched with, that's for sure. |
