But PC isn't a 7th Gen system, though that was the whole point on the top 10. It's the same with my top 10 7th gen games list I didn't put football manger 2012 or something on it as it isn't on a 7th gen system.

Eh, it's a game that came out during the seventh generation of consoles, and I played it on PC. There's no need to have criteria for a simple and personal top ten like this.

Also you can't really complain about his top ten as most are available on 360/ps3 as well.

Just cancelled my second Wii U order from Amazon. Ho-hum.   

With SM3DW out? Why?

Well I have dozens of unplayed games across PS3/360/3DS/Vita/PSP, so to buy a Wii U would be a bit naughty really, plus there's very few games that I'm interested in, including upcoming titles.

I keep trying to get excited about the WiiU (hence the two attempts at buying it) but within minutes all that excitement fizzles out.

Everyone has massive backlogs of games to play that will never change or get smaller, quick question though, have you played a wii U demo station? If not I think ye'd get excited for it then.

Each to their own. Jas makes a good point, though: the Wii U is much better to play than it's been presented as. And it sounds like SM3DW is a real killer app. for the console. Not that I know, not having it yet... What titles would get you hot under the collar, Double-F?

For the Wii U? Pikmin 3. That's it.

I wouldn't get a U double F as you basically are not interested in the reasons to own a U apart from Pikmin 3 and maybe X, new Zelda, Fire Emblem X Shin Megmai Tensai.

I agree with Mas - doesn't sound like there's much out there for you, FF. But what I meant to ask was what games, if announced, would get you to consider picking it up?

I've been thinking about this all morning & I came up with nothing. There's not a single game that would make me buy a WiiU instantly. I thought Pikmin 3 would be 'that game', but it isn't. Even if there was Animal Crossing WiiU, it would have to be a significant improvement over New Leaf to make me consider a purchase.

See, the sort of games that I like are Sony/Microsoft exclusive. Uncharted, Infamous, Killzone, Halo, Fable. Other games that I like such as Splinter Cell, Grid, Dirt are available on both consoles. I have huge games such as Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3, Red Dead Redemption waiting to be played & those alone would last me years & years probably.

And I have my 3DSXL if I ever fancy some 'Nintendo Magic' as some people like to call it.

We've grown so far apart.  Honestly, hardly any of those franchises you've mentioned appeal to me at all. The Elder Scrolls, and maybe Fable, but that's apparently got worse recently. But variety, and spice of life, and all that.

I'm sort of in the same boat as you FF, with Steam supplying a broad spectrum of games at a cheap price which is taking up my gaming time. But - Smash Bros 4 is almost definitely going to sway me into picking up a Wii U, that's my killer app.

The gulf between us just keeps getting wider.    Must be my age or something, although I expect that there are gamers older than me who still love Mario.

I didn't know you were Wii U less. Have you always been a Smash Bros fan?

FF, I really didn't expect you to be into those kind of games but that's purely based off you liking Professor Layton & nothing else, seeing as you mentioned splinter cell I have to tell you that blacklist is quite good on wii U. (if you avoid the lag ridden multiplayer)

Also would watch_dogs not tempt you into a wii U or would it make more sense for you to pick that up on ps3?

I love all types of shooty shooty bang bang games. It helps me to release all my built up tension & frustrations.   Probably 80% of my gaming time involves shooty shooty stuff in one form or another - single player of course.

Watchdogs will certainly be on the PS3 or even the PS4.

Yep - well, at least since Melee. Played that for ages and did the same with Brawl.

I don't think X will be a traditional JRPG by the looks of it, it will favor the action rpg.

Cybernator on the SNES, Gradius V, Starfox 64. All shooty-shooty, and with some cracking explosions to satisfy that most most simple of urges to see stuff go BOOM!!! (Which I also have   )
