| I've been watching GT Time on Game Trailers, the whole episode is pretty much about smash. The panel include Kyle who's a Nintendo Fanboy and Dom who loves Zelda but one of them on there they asked what would make you buy a Wii U and what does everyone want from Nintendo at E3.
With Dom bringing up if Zelda isn't at E3 it won't be a Wii U game but the next systems launch title, what do you guy's think about that and if it was true and would you buy Nintendo's next system.
Also I was going to do a whole thread on it, but would make you buy a Wii U, PS4, Xbox One or any others.
Is it price, a certain game, robust library etc. |

| Would prefer if this wasn't a dump for your threads, masofdas...this is 'random gaming thoughts', with the emphasis on 'random'. |

| Didn't think it was really worthy of it's own thread, and is more on the random thought though mainly about if we didn't see Zelda on Wii U. |

| Pretty sure it's irrelevant because there will be a Zelda and the console isn't even 2 years old... |

| I agree with you, but his view was with the Wii U doing not so well. Nintendo to leave a sinking a ship and start again & what better series then zelda would you start a new system with. It's the reason I bought a Wii was because of TP and same with the 3DS for OoT.
It came from them asking if the one guy would buy a Wii U for Smash with his answer being No as he can play it on his 3DS. Which got them all talking what would make them buy a system. |

| I'm not in the slightest arsed with what would make a bunch of arsehole Americans buy a Nintendo system. I'm more interested in your views.
~
On another note, I only found out this morning that OutRun 2 was supposed to be ported over to the GameCube as well as the XBox and PS2, before it got cancelled. What a loss that was. The GameCube had some of SEGA's finest arcade ports - I'm thinking Crazy Taxi, Virtua Striker and Beach Spikers specifically - but OutRun 2 would have been the finest of the lot. Could you imagine playing that with the GameCube pad, with it's massive shoulder button to drift? That would have been sensational. |

| My view is if the Wii U was canned all ready I would be rather pissed but am used to stuff being canned quite quickly from SEGA which of course led to the DC not doing so well as people lost faith in them. I would kinda be thinking the same thing but if Zelda was launch a game I would have to buy the system.
On Outrun that was great on the OG Xbox. |

This is on a tangent from your point, but hey, this is the random thought thread after all - those shoulder buttons are my favourite shoulder buttons on any pad I've used to date. They felt really meaty and I enjoyed the click you felt when you pushed them all the way down, whereas Sony and Microsoft's efforts were a bit too spongy for my liking. |

| Especially the wavebird edition. I mentioned this on twitter but I wish the new Zelda would have combat like dark souls, it would just deliver more involving sword play & give the shield more worth other than blocking. |

| Agreed on the Wavebird - what a controller that was! Ehhh, I can't say I agree on that one Jas. The combat of Zelda always felt a bit more arcadey to me, and I don't think the more measured combat style of Souls would transition well. The atmosphere of the world you explore - now that would transition well to Zelda I reckon. Also, obligatory to Balla at a Souls mention. |

| Honestly, I'd be quite happy with SS' combat back again. Everyone who moaned about it being difficult to get the sword slashes in precisely the right direction seems to have missed an important point: for most foes, you can play exactly like you would a regular Zelda, blocking/dodging a slash and then hacking away. The directional tactics are another strategy you can use if you want. Hey, it beats using the roll attack every time like in WW.
It's not going to happen for Zelda U, because it'll be using the gamepad and so it should, but it's something to remember for future series entries. |

| Whilst I love Wind Waker, you've hit the nail on the head there in that its combat was probably one of the weaker elements to it - nearly every fight boiled down to waiting for the A button to flash then landing the counter blow. |

| Dark Souls felt a lot like a Dark Zelda, albeit with the emphasis on combat rather than puzzling. I'd enjoy a slightly more involved combat system but that's not what Zelda is about. The Dark Souls approach to world building and storytelling, however, as been mentioned a lot and would make a good fit. Also, Nintendo really need to get on board with proper voice acting. All that text felt archaic on Wii. On wii u? No way. |

| I wasn't a big fan of the SS combat. At first I played fair, waiting for the right time to strike, it was slow and a little cumbersome but cool nonetheless.
Then I realised you could just not lock on and wave the wii mote like a man possessed to instantly land a dozen blows before the enemy has time to react. To be fair, maybe it just needed a little refinement.
Now rolling a bomb. That was the biggest challenge in the whole game for me. |

| The Wavebird was bulky, the battery pack got in the way of your fingers and it had no rumble.
The wired GameCube controller was far superior. With a better Z button (and two of them) the Wii U's analogue sticks (especially for the C sick) and a much better D-pad, it would be perfect. |

That was actually my favourite bit of the entire game. |

I will give you the no rumble (which was understandable for a wireles controller at the time) thing but I had no other problems with it. |

Wired or wireless, they were both good pads, and I don't feel either was far superior than the other. An extra Z button would have been useful, but the smartest developers navigated that with no problems. The loss of a button isn't missed in, say, NBA Street V3 or WWE Day of Reckoning. |

| Sorry, my comment came across a lot more negative than I thought - those were minor problems and it was still a great controller. I just preferred the wired version. |
