| Impressive artwork, alas any impression I got from it was immediately quashed by this... lets call it rather disturbing for politeness sake, piece of the more news section. - You've been warned.:
Well, I guess it's good training to teach me to never bother scrolling down a page for a peek at some comments! |

| It's now been thirteen months since we've had a new New Super Mario Bros game. That might not seem like a long time, but it's a bit mental to think that we had three between August 2012 and June 2013.
Just odd to look back, is all. |

| Mario Maker's out soon, I guess you could count that as the next one? Do you remember when the DS original came out and it was a big, unheard of thing? |

| Is this the most generous computer game advert of all time? Apparently you could get away with advertising such bollocks in 2005 (and on the back of NGC as well, the dirty bastarts). |

| I'm not sure which is my favourite part, "ultra - realistic graphics" or the promise of "sleepless nights". There were some lovely adverts at the start of the DS era. I'll grab some pics when I get home from mum's. The Another Code and Resi ones spring to mind. |

| Whoever decided to make the Hardcore Risette Fan and The Nose Doesn't Always Know trophies should be fired. Now if I want to platinum this game I have to do a fourth playthrough. On the bright side I probably won't have to actually complete it, nor will I have to redo the hollow forest for a third time. |

That's the big thing I hate most about trophies/achievements, most games should be designed to be played again & again because its fun (whether that's down to story or game play elements) but those trophies just force the game into a slog & then if you get the platinum most won't play the game ever again. A game should never feel like work. |

| I swing from caring about achievements to not giving a toss on a regular basis. In an ideal world, I'd treat achievements as an excuse to pick up a game I haven't played in a while, but I usually end up either slogging through a game to perfect it or not being able to muster up the enthusiasm to replay it, thus having an incomplete game annoying me in my games library. |

| Not going to lie there are games where I've found them interesting to aim for with recent examples being GTA V & dark souls 2 but I usually treat them the same way I 100%'d older games, I'll only do it with games I really enjoy.
Though if I feel I've seen everything it has to offer then it won't bug me if its left lying at a certain percentage.

I like the ones that are about doing something like beating extra content, completing the "pokedex", or encouraging players to do challenge runs, which every trophy besides these two have been. Those ones just feel like a nice pat on the back for experiencing everything the game has to offer. Unfortunately these specific two trophies aren't like that, one requires a fusion accident ( which I didn't get even once while 100 percenting the persona compendium for some strange reason) and the other requires unintuitive play to have rise spout specific lines in battle. Really bad design. Still, I'll find a way to make these two fun. Well, the rise quote one anyway, there is no way to make the fusion accident one fun. You fuse persona's until it happens, thankfully I can do that while watching tv or something. As for the rise quote one, I'll turn it in to a low level run and see how little experience I can get throughout the game. |

| Looked up the two trophies you were on about - the Rise one is horrendous, but the fusion one is pretty cool I think. It happened to me on a normal playthrough and it's showing the player a mechanic they might never have seen otherwise. Trophies/achievements should, to me at least, either give the player a challenge or show them something they might have missed of some importance.
Inane collectible (Assassin's Creed flags, looking at you) achievements can fuck off though. |

| Can't say the idea phases me personally. There are already a host of trophies I can't unlock, granted it's because I lack the skills to ever obtain them but in the end it's the same thing from my perspective.
Also I think I'm just going to call it quits on those two for now, I've reached maximum burnout with persona 4. I'll return to it someday, and when I do that platinum will be mine, but for now I need to play something different. |

It's a really interesting idea from a creative standpoint, but looking at it from a mechanical standpoint, achievements are meant to be unlocked. I get what the developer's trying to put across to her audience, and I appreciate the creativity. But the fact an achievement is unachievable is just going to piss off a certain group of people. Nice to see it's spawned a modding scene for her game though, I guess. |

| RANDOM TOPIC CHANGE IMMINENT In FPSes and actionny games with guns, I realised that my favourite bits by far are throwing grenades. |

| In particular, I like throwing incendiary grenades or Molotov cocktails. Was playing some Zombi U multiplayer last night and they were supremely satisfying. |

| I had a surprisingly long and in depth conversation the other day with they guy I get a lift to and from work with about how 'cooking' grenades seems to have gone out of fashion in FPSes. Any thoughts? |

| Not sure it has gone out of fashion as much as some do it and some don't. You've always been able to in CoD and you've never been able to in Battlefield. I do love cooking grenades though, nothing beats timing it perfectly so they don't know what hit them. |

Yes! The grenades (& mines) are fucking brilliantly powerful in that game. --- This is one thing that Destiny can be a bit weak on from my time with the beta, even though they are useful they are less satisfying but that was only as the Titan no idea if the other classes are better & the super charge ability does makes up for it. Oh also head shot kills in Destiny have a great pop to them. |

| I had the incendiary grenade on Destiny and that was great as you'll see the flesh burn on the enemies.
