| Novel exchange! Wooo! NaNo was fun, for the most part - I'd recommend it to anyone with sufficient free time and (crucially) enough people in their area to make it partly social. |

| Calling this a thing "I" wrote is a bit of a leap, but BitParade has belatedly unveiled its 2013 GsOTY.

| Some good games also strange not to see GTAV or Last of Us on that many Top games of 2013. Both were in my top 10 but would be low down.
Also didn't put ALBW in my top 10 (as still barely played it) |

| So, I finally sent my book off to some agents! Go me.
In other news, you should all definitely look at my website www.dinosaurpoems.com I'm trying to update it fairly regularly, some of it's even about vidjagames. I'm sure in five years I'll read it and want to punch myself like when I read stuff I wrote as a teenager now but hey, got to stay in practice. |

| Good luck finding an agent, sir! An Internet buddy on another forum I frequent had quite a struggle before she found one, so perseverence is the key. Another key is mentioning us in your thanks bit when the book is published. |

| Not really proper writing (or coherent writing at this hour), but the point at which I gave up on every football game I've played is something that has been bugging me for a while. |

| Not writing again: I've decided to bore the internet a little more by starting a GIF archive of the "best" BBC Micro games. |

| At the end of last month I posted out the first fifty pages of my novel, The People Vs Xanzar the Soulflayer, to literary agencies. I got a reply today from one that enjoyed it, likes my writing style and wants the full manuscript! |

| I used to do a modest amount of writing for the 3DS Tribe a few moons ago, and a spot of work for Nintendo Nation as well. I'm not sure if it counts but I also had my name in more than my fair shares worth of the Correction Corner section of NGamer.
Good times! |

| I should probably say that I'm doing NaNoWriMo again. This time it's about a magical university in the mountains, and also a middle-class straight male white Brit trying to write about discrimination. |

| I don't write often, but about once a year or so I get the urge to write something game related on Facebook. They were, for many years now, just tucked in there, but the last one was a nightmare to post, so I moved it all to a free blog instead, located over here.
It's rambling in nature (once a year! And I'm a terrible editor!), and often aimed at provoking friends to comment, but now it is a public website y'all can browse if you wished! The latest one (which I think is at the top) is about the Wii Light Gun games I've played through. |

Good times! I really miss those times. I like how GameCentral runs the inbox every day, I find it brings back some of the great memories of writing into a magazine, and it's really heartwarming to see inbox entries respond to past inbox entries and queries. |

| It's the time of the year where I resurrect this thread to talk about what I'm doing for NaNo this year. I've changed my website to reflect this. (I finished last year's contribution, by the way - got a complete first draft out! Now it just needs editing. Looooots of editing.) I decided to work on my character development this year, so I asked people to give me character outlines - I then drew a selection at random to feature in my book. As a result, it's going to be about a pirate radio DJ who gets involved with fairies and talking animals. The character sketches I drew can be found here: http://nanowrimo.org/participants/balladeer/novels/a-study-in-empathy (and those of you who know my real name can search it on Facebook to find a (long) video of me actually doing the draw and acting like the awkward mathematician I am). Of particular interest to some might be the suggestor of Rognari... |

I could only find a video of another guy putting your name on a wall. |

| I'm actually using Twitter. I bloody hate the thing, but I'm actually using Twitter.
The other London leaders (did I mention I'm helping to lead NaNoWriMo in London this year?) are Twitterholics, the main NaNo movement loves Twitter, NaNoLondon has its own Twitter account... So I'm using Twitter. Trying to "tweet" (urgh) once a day from now until the end of November.
How do you say anything worth saying in 140 characters? Anything!? |

| Wit yes, but discussions? Useful information? Outbursts of emotion (I have those occasionally)? It just seems incredibly inflexible and irritating to me. |
