It's hard to expect 3000 people to actually work together and make progress though. I'm surprised they made it to Cerulean at all, let alone in 35 hours.   

Welp.... it's still a f***ing mess at 21:17. They did manage to save though. That's good I guess.

I figure the more people commenting/watching, the less progress made. Right now there's 12000 people watching - and as such they've barely advanced beyond Cerulean in 6 hours, whereas somehow they made it from Pallet to Cerulean in 24. I'm guessing by the end of the week they might have beaten Lt. Surge.

Has anyone tried submitting "A B Select Start"?

Watching the Twitch stream, an they'e managed to goad Red into a trainer battle in Celedon Gym! And they're spamming the hell out of Sand Attack and Growl. Victory is just around the corner.

It does start like that, but it's definitely worth carrying on until the plots start happening. (It's several little ones rather than a big one, most of the time.) If you don't like it after that, it's probably not for you. It definitely isn't for everyone.

Twitch Pokemon update - they managed to release their starter a level before it would have evolved to Charizard.   

I'm surprised it reached Charmeleon at all - wouldn't people have just been hammering B at that stage?

It evolved fairly early on before swarms and swarms of people started watching - how they managed to evolve their Pidgeot is another incredible story.

I'm enjoying the Twitch Pokemon play in spurts. I like to see how far they've gotten every few hours and what sticom-esque mishaps might have occurred! Actually watching the stream though is hair-tearingly frustrating...*rubs bald patch*

Just how did they do it then? I joined a bit late (as they were trying to get over a ledge on Route 9. There was a Reddit on the "Meta-Strat" for Route 9!)

That Reddit link is hilarious.  There's a 30s advert over Twitch now, so I can't watch it, but they seem to be in Celadon. Could be worse!

Supposedly their current task is finding a Pokemon that can learn Surf - so they were planning on getting Eevee and evolving it to Vaporeon. Simple enough, right? Well, they ended up spending all of their money on 3 Pokedolls and a Fire Stone.

So they think, "hmm, Lapras!" Thing is though, to get Lapras they need a slot free in their party. They intend to box or daycare Eevee, but the daycare doesn't work out so they go the Pokemon centre. And they end up releasing Charmeleon and a Rattata they'd taught basically all their TMs too.  

Oh, and you know how the keep clicking on the Helix Fossil in battle? This is now a thing.
