| Watched for twenty minutes while they beat one trainer in Sabrinas gym. Infuriating but hypnotic. |

| I should probably remind people that they can post about other things besides TPP in here! TPP has probably reached the "critical mass" where it deserves its own thread, but if people want to keep posting about it in here, they can! I'm just continually stumped that their top 'mon is one you can catch on Route 1, with only one incredibly weak direct attacking move. Aaaaaaand they've just hit a ghost-trainer, and it's their only fit Pokémon over level 19. |

| They're probably going to have seriously seriously grind to beat the Elite Four.
On another note, here's a site where you can see Wayne Rooney, David Cameron and an average nurse's earning all add up in real time. |

| Terrifying, isn't it? I put my salary in, and that's terrifying too. You hear the 'argument' that footballers have such short careers, so they deserve to be paid more - flimsier than an atom-thick negligée. |

| That's such a rubbish argument that I've never heard it given. If there's a person in all Britain who deserves to have that salary less than Wayne Looney... it's probably Nick Griffin. |

| I've got no problem with footballers earning that type of wages at the end of the day there entertainers, you watch a game to be entertained.
But you only ever hear people talking about footballers earning to much yet
Kobe Byrant (NBA) earns $585,650 a week Peyton Manning (NFL) earns $500,00 a week John Cena (WWE) earns $57,692 a week Will Smith (Actor) earns $20m per film, so doing one film a year would be $384,615 a week Lady Gaga (Singer) last year earned $80m which is $1,538,461 per week, hers does include everything others are just for there main job
So is Rooney's wages really that bad compared to those, not really apart from he's not worth 300k a week he's overrated as he's English. I could understand a Hazard maybe earning that type of money soon.

| It's mad, but complaining about it doesn't help. At the end of the day, people pay to watch the game and buy the merchandise so the team's gonna post whatever it takes to keep the players. It's called capitalism. Unless you want to nationalise the football... |

| The first 3 you wouldn't hear commented on in the UK because they aren't really relevant here. I can understand why a musician and actors salary might be higher because at least there's money coming in because of what they've produced, with football the amount they get compared to how much they do just doesn't seem right to me (all be it I'm not all that big on sports so I might be a tad blind there). |

| Buska kinda agrees with me on why
@Andy yeah first weren't great examples so here's Lewis Hamilton (F1) on €384,615 a week which is a sport people will know more about and remember they sit in a car for there job.
Will Smith's salary was for just doing the film with out % if box-office, dvd etc, so I think his for just being will smith is a lot as no one could see the film and he'd still get $20m. And I can't see it being to hard of a job either. |

| I have to agree that acting is an odd one, I can't often tell the difference between a TV actor and a film one. Is it just that big names help to sell the films? |

This is pretty much on the money, apart from complaining not helping - it helps me feel better. Without nationalising the footy, the only way I can think of doing this is by putting in place salary caps, which while a nice idea in theory isn't likely to help when players can move to another club in another country. |

| They are bringing in the financial fair play which will under UEFA regulations but not FIFAs , which basically means if you earn X amount you can only spend that amount and no more.
Which sounds good but Barcelona for example there stadium holds 90,000 and they have there on TV deal etc so they will bring in good money so can spend good amount of money.
So they will always have advantage over the smaller clubs whom bring in less money.
They do a have salary cap in rugby union over here but no in France where alot of the top players play. Which could still happen with the FFP as UEFA is only Europe a player could move to America or middle east and earn X amount there but you would be playing in rubbish leagues, the top players want to player in the Uefa champions league.

http://www.xkcd.com/1331/ That's hypnotic! The way the two car indicator ones slowly get out of sync is just as infuriating as it is in real life. |

| I've seen the Marty McFly one a few times on Facebook. It really irritates me because he went 30 years into the past in the first one, and thirty years into the future in the second one. Lovely and neat... but everyone was going "Oh, yeah!", like it was right. |

| xkcd is always great. This one is appropriate to this thread, I feel.
I could also mention Brawl in the Family again... Oops, I just did.

| Twitch Plays Pokémon is now facing the Elite Four.
Well, it's facing Lorelei, at least. Over and over again. |
