No idea & I'm quite certain I have three (old king, lost sinner & the rotten) & yeah it certainly made me wish the ps3 had a screenshot function. - Jay wrote:

Yep, I'd imagine it'd be quite tricky in the dark as for those salamanders I did try dropping to to the room a few times to gain my souls back but once I aggro'd them I never had time to homeward bone away from them, I did kill the one that protects that fire broadsword in the tunnel though. |

Are you not forgetting Duke's Dear Freja in Brightcove Tseldora? I've now opened the route to the final boss! My first attempt at taking it on went miserably, so I think I'm going to do some multiplayer and take on some areas I skipped over. |

| Ahhh yeah I remember the "great soul aquired" message coming after that fight oddly her soul just looks like a normal boss soul for me. (A glitch maybe?) Ive now made it to the shrine of armana & got some big time goosebumps as I approached the first bonfire, it just so similar to an area in dark souls....I've noticed subtle stuff elsewhere but this was anything but that. |

| Just thought i'd give my opinion on this. - Freja's Soul:
You have to pick up the soul after the boss right? I'm pretty sure the Great Soul you pick up is that of the giant dead Dragon (Seath?) its not an inventory item as you didn't have to kill it. That would explain why Freja just has an ordinary soul too.
Also, Creighton sounds like Jason Statham. |

| - Freja:
That's what I was thinking too. Also, if you talk to Shalquoir the cat after beating the Lost Sinner, she talks about how the Lost Sinner was trying to relight the First Flame, which is exactly what the Witch of Izalith tried in DS1. Definitely a link to the four Great Lords from before with the four Old Ones here.
Oh, and I BEAT THE GAME! Really really enjoying the fact you can play on post final boss before entering NG+ - taking advantage of this to farm some items. |

ahh yeah that all makes sense now, not sure if that is Seath as I remember it having giant wings but Freja's full name suggests otherwise.
Also congrats on beating the game Jay & its good to know it doesn't throw you right into NG+ as well.

Based on something that you can access late-game, I don't think that dragon is Seath.
I've not gone into NG+ yet - been grinding my head against a wall trying to take on an optional boss. The real shitter? You have to use a human effigy every time you want to take on this boss. |

| There's a chest in brightstone (the one in the small broken house) that has 5 of those & if you use a bonfire ascetic in the area it get's refilled. |

| I managed to beat him! I abused the Ring of Protection to keep the bountiful number of souls from beating the enemies on the way to the boss and bought all the human effigies from the traders. I was considering using an Ascetic but luckily beat the boss before I had to resort to that. Still burned through 20 ascetics or so... I really recommend beating this boss before tackling NG+, definitely the most challenging fight I've had yet. It's called the Darklurker - feel free to ask if you want to know how to take it on, it's not spoilery or anything. I actually experienced a double KO with both me and the boss killing each other, raged so hard when that happened. I ended up using Chaos Storm and Flame Swathe to my benefit as the boss is quite weak to fire. And victory! Now onto NG+ and NG++, going for the 100% achievement! |

Oh that reminds me in the royal rat vanguard fight I beat it had "victory achieved" flash up but I never realised that I had been poisoned so died before the boss items dropped & I had to do it all over again. |

| Which one was the Vanguard - the one in Doors of Pharros or Grave of Saints? I think I'm going to take a break from Souls for now. I started NG+ and whilst I appreciated the jump in difficulty - more enemies, much more frequent invasions (I think I was invaded by about 5 blue spirits in the space of 15 minutes at Heide's) - I'm not enjoying it as much right now. I'm definitely planning to 100% this, but I think I need to play something else considering I've been playing nothing but Souls for the better part of two months. |

| Its in Grave of Saints, now that I think about it probably the weirdest boss in the game. (That I've fought) |

| Ah, yeah. I hit that boss really really late game and I was one hitting all the rats with my Greatsword +10, so it ended up not being a massive deal. |

| I keep delaying myself from finishing this as I reckon I'm not far off the end, last two times I played I was only partaking in jolly co-operation & I now only need to help folk defeat five more bosses to max out my rank in the heirs of the sun covenant. Praise the sun! |

| Got a quick question, would you say that's safe to watch for those who haven't finished the game yet? |

Yep, seems to be! No end-game spoilers beyond where you are in the game. - masofdas wrote:

That is my number one pet peeve. Don't you have a PS3 anyway? Likely won't happen considering From will be focusing on Project Beast. |

| PS3 went ages ago. Wasn't much on the horizon that I couldn't get on the newer system apart from this, was it worth keeping for one game nope unless last guardian is still a PS3 game then I will be rather annoyed.
I know your not a fan of GOTY editions but surely this will get one on ps3 & 360, PC at least. And wouldn't Namco have some team that could handle porting over the PC version, and could make sense for Sony as well get Dark Souls II PS4 Definitive Edition out for fall 2014 then have Demon Souls II/Project Beast out sometime in 2015. |

Ah those previews of the dlc areas looks really good especially the third snowy area, still quite surprised that the dlc is arriving so soon & I wonder if they will make us jump through hoops to access it again or if it will be its own separate thing. |

I reckon it'll play similarly to certain other areas in the game... don't want to say much more if you have advanced further than LGK. |
