| Wow. I've just spent longer than I should have looking over the 2011 end of year vote, and Phillicaps's 3DS vote. Great, great times, although it does feel odd seeing everything CVG-ised. Further thoughts include: 1) saswatch was a nasty fellow and I'm glad he didn't contribute for long. 2) Was really fond of DeadLemon (Dead Lemon? Odd to say that I liked him but can't quite remember his username). 3) Balla said Kid Icarus: Uprising wasn't colourful. |

| Man, had a really fun time reading through this thread. Some fond memories there: - The first forum fiction. There were loads in the end, but the first one was really special to me because of how fucking bonkers it was in the end. - Hosting the first forum awards. I'm really happy that idea took off like it did. - Being tutored in the ways of SFIV by grf (hello up there, by the way!), a3HM and SD Downs. Not really on the forum, but I class it as a forum memory. - The great heron attack. - That TWEWY thread. Thanks for linking that Stu. Unbelievable how we filled out SEVENTY pages about that game. - Seeing the chat thread full of people nattering away. So many names that I've not heard from in years and years: Jotm, BazaLink, DeadLemon, C>Lemon (who always had problems with the PM system because of his name ), the 741s, SD Downs, captain falcon, dan soup (who I once made spend hours doing a Ridley pixel art video on YouTube because he asked for requests and I gave him a bloody massive sprite), Blumiere... Fond, fond memories of the ol' ship NGamer. |

| Yup, the FFs were brilliant. The later ones got a bit more "epic", which I think took away from some of the utter madness of the first one. Although the fifth one did seem to be heading back that way, before it imploded. - The Cappuccino Kid wrote:

I didn't know you went to Caley! We should have hit The Bedsit!
We should have done! I remember it used to be right beside the refectory and had a bouncer at the front door that we all thought would kick our heads in if we cracked a joke in front of him. Place stank like piss, though. As for that Saswatch fellow, he was a nasty guy. Although the comment from oldschool in this thread about the suede actually had me crying with laughter all over again! http://forums.computerandvideogames.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=130957&hilit=The+end+saswatch Does anyone remember that Neil Pinell plonker who kept on saying we should all by the Conduit even though it was pretty rubbish? http://forums.computerandvideogames.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=95400 I'm sure he must have worked at High Voltage going by the way he was praising the game. The Conduit just wasn't an electrifying experience though. Oh, and I never did trade in Monkey Ball on the DS. |

I took long absences from NGamer, and I think that I missed a lot of good stuff in them. |

| I remember my introductory post in the welcome thread (if it's the same one). I made some "funny" about me being a Yorkshire lad.
I'd completely forgotten saswatch until everyone else brought him up, too. |

XD
Kind of reminds me of when Matthew Castle reminisced on the Rotating Platform about being a fan of a mag (or along those lines), those were indeed good times.

Aye, looking back, it's pretty clear that I didn't 'get' Mario Kart Wii. In 2010, I can only think that I was cracking under the pressure of my Honours. It's an online gaming classic. That said, and very tellingly, I've not played it once since Wii's servers were closed. ~ It's the Wii U Virtual Console wishlists! http://forums.computerandvideogames.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=129803&start=15 Super Mario Sunshine, Animal Crossing, Pokemon Colloseum all suggested...when we've been lucky to get Duck Hunt. *thumbs down* |

| Since then we've had to significantly lower our expectations, sad times.
And yes, Mario Kart Wii really is all about the online. My disc hasn't been used either since we last raced together. This is why I want Nintendo to rerelease the older games on up-to-date hardware (so, Wii U) with Nintendo Network support. Sure, you can play Mario Kart 7 and 8, but they aren't Mario Kart Wii, or DS. Those games play a completely different game of Kart. |
